Your responsibility is to discover the talents imbedded inside of you, that the Lord has put there and to let them grow for the benefit of the Kingdom of God and other people around you

Good day, dear friends!Welcome to the column of our “Daily word for spiritual strength” today! May the mercy of God follow you through the whole day today. I am thankful to God for the opportunity to share with you the word of revelation that God has put into my heart. Yesterday we discovered that every Christian is called to do the work Jesus did – preaching the Gospel, Healing the broken hearted, setting the captives free and doing good to people. However, we can’t do it by our own power. We need the help, the power and the guidance of the Holy Spirit. This is the only way we can manifest God to world and do the works Jesus did.
« “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to heal the broken-hearted, to proclaim release to the captives, recovering of sight to the blind, to deliver those who are crushed, and to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.” He closed the book, gave it back to the attendant, and sat down. The eyes of all in the synagogue were fastened on him ». (see Luke 4:18-20).

«… even Jesus of Nazareth, how God anointed him with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him ». (Acts 10:38).
God pours His Spirit on those who are thirsty. Everything depends on the price you are ready to pay in order to receive the power of God. The Holy Spirit gives us power to be children of God. Without the Holy Spirit Christianity would not be different from any other religion. The law cannot transform us, but only the grace that comes through Jesus Christ can do that. God’s desire is to make us people of strong character, who demonstrate the character of Christ. Jesus manifested God in the earth through His character and the power of God. A person receives the gifts of the Holy Spirit not according to his merits. However, it’s possible to possess gifts of the Holy Spirit while bearing no fruits of the Holy Spirit. This is exactly what Paul is telling us in his epistle to the Corinthians:
« If I speak with the languages of men and of angels, but don’t have love, I have become sounding brass, or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but don’t have love, I am nothing. If I dole out all my goods to feed the poor, and if I give my body to be burned, but don’t have love, it profits me nothing ». (1st Corinthians 13:1-3).
Love is a summary of the character of Christ. Without it nothing we do works for the good for a person.
« In this love has been made perfect among us, that we may have boldness in the day of judgement, because as he is, even so are we in this world ».(1st John 4:17).
I can stand confidently stand before God only, when I have a witness in my spirit that I am living like Jesus lived while living in this world. Without the character of Christ the gifts of the Holy Spirit will be useless to the people around us, neither will they deliver true satisfaction to us personally. Jesus wants us to have as our ultimate goal for life, the desire to become like Him. The Holy Spirit empowers only those who have godly purpose for their life and who strive to attain to that purpose. Kingdom purpose will urge a person to discover and locate his place in life. While living in this world Jesus discovered Himself and His God- ordained purpose. Having come to the Earth Jesus discovered Himself in the Scriptures. He was confident about the fact that He was anointed for a purpose, and He dedicated His whole life to the fulfilment of that purpose. That is why He said:
«The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to heal the broken-hearted, to proclaim release to the captives, recovering of sight to the blind, to deliver those who are crushed, and to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord». (Luke 4:18-19).
Jesus knew His purpose, but He also discovered His ministry and grew into His calling. If you are no growing in your calling, then you are wasting the time allocated to you by God. You should ask yourself these questions:
  • “Am I growing in fulfilling my calling to serve God’s purposes?
  • Am I developing my talent(s)?”
The desire to be like Jesus will prompt us to serve other people with our talents. The more you use your talents, the more they develop and grow in you. Start from today on to do something that uses your talents to glory of God if you are not yet doing that. Each of us will have to give an account to God not only for our deeds, but also for the way we used the talents that were given to us by God. It’s your responsibility to discover the talents imbedded inside of you, that the Lord has put there and to let them grow for the benefit of the Kingdom of God and other people around you. By doing that, you will not miss your reward from the Lord in Jesus Name! God bless you abundantly! Rufus Ajiboye, pastor

  • What are the benefits of pain and suffering at the time?

Problems draw our attention faster than anything else.Problems can become a spiritual “alarm clock” from God. This is what Job (36:15) points out: “He delivers the poor in their affliction, and opens their ears in oppression”.In times of prosperity and abundance we hear God as whispering, but in times of pain and suffering we hear Him loud and clear. God has an ability to revive our attention towards His Word and His voice. That is why Solomon says that in times of abundance we should enjoy life, but in times of suffering we should think about our life.
  • What drives your life?

There are many things that drive people’s life, motivate them and influence their system of values. Many believers are driven by wrong motives today. In order to live strategically you definitely have to ask yourself these questions: “Why do I do what I do?”, “What are my secret motives?”, “What values influence my life?”, “What affects my decisions and my choice?”, “What is driving me in the spending of my money and time?”, “What drives my life?”
  • The person who daily fills his heart with God’s Word has several advantages

    1. God makes the feet of this person strong as the feet of deer. This person is able to run and not get weary. When he or she faces an obstacle or a wall, he has the strength to get over it. This thought is profound: the person who is filled with God’s light has power to overcome the difficulties of life. There are no invincible barriers for him. When the light of God comes into the person’s life, God’s wisdom comes with it and helps overcome all obstacles.
  • How NOT to give up, when problems and trials are all around IV

We continue our discussion about how not to give up at the time of troubles and temptation. Yesterday we spoke about the necessity to know that when we are walking through the problems in our life God keeps all our situations under control having already prepared a solution for us. Today I would like to continue this topic and show you that temptations or trials are a kind of test or exam. It can either put a shame on you and take the Spirit of glory away from you or you will rejoice and get excited of the honour to pass this test.
