Moving your mountains
Dear Friend, I greet you today in the Name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. The saving power of Christ is manifested in our lives on a daily basis as we make efforts to receive, obey and practice His word consistently in every situation of our lives.
One of the things the Word of God teaches that I want you to meditate upon today is the wisdom of moving your mountains. This principle is elaborated in the gospel of Mark chapter 11:
“Have faith in God,” Jesus answered. 23″I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, ’Go, throw yourself into the sea, and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen; it will be done for him. 24Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours” (Mk.11: 22- 24).
The above passage instructs us to do at least three things:- To have the faith of God.
- Speak to your mountains
- Believe in your heart and doubt not that what you will happen.
“By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible” (Hebrew11: 3).
And the first chapter of Genesis tells us how God release His faith to create the Heaven and the earth.“And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light…6And God said, “Let there be an expanse between the waters to separate water from water.” 7 So God made the expanse and separated the water under the expanse from the water above it… 9And God said, “Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place, and let dry ground appear.” And it was so.” (Genesis 1: 3, 6, 7, 9).
God spoke or gave a command and it was so. He speaks because of His faith. He believes that whatever He speaks we come to pass, so He spoke and it was so. Faith is release through words, -words of faith. One of the ways we released our faith is by speaking to our problems. Very often we speak about our problems instead of speaking to them. Very often we tell God about our problems instead of telling our problems about our God. The Bible instructs us to do it differently. You are instructed to- Speak to your mountains
- Tell it to move
- Believe in your heart and doubt not and you will have what you say.
“What you decide on will be done, and light will shine on your ways. 29 When men are brought low and you say, ’Lift them up!’ then he will save the downcast” (Job22: 28-29).
Please note that faith has to do with decision first of all. You have to make up your mind on what you are going to believe or do. And secondly, it has to do with speaking forth what you want. If it is dark all around you, what you need is light, so stop talking about the darkness and start speaking to the darkness to disappear. Do what God did: He simply said, “Let there be light” and there was light. Tell your darkness to give way for light. And it will be so. The problem today is not that we are not speaking, but that we are not speaking the things we ought to be speaking.Meditate on the Lord and begin to see that the Lord is greater than all the mountains of your life. Consider the fact that the Lord loves you too. And don’t forget to thing about His trustworthiness. You can trust God to do what He has promised to do, if you will do your own part. You are going to rise up in confidence today and speak to your mountains. Mountains must move in your life today in the Name of Jesus. However, before I conclude, I must warn you that there are other factors that will determine if your faith will work or not. In the Book of Job that we we’ve just quoted we can see two other factors that we need to consider before speaking tour mountains. One of the factors is:”Accept instruction from his mouth and lay up his words in your heart (Job 22: 22).
Another thing is to:return to the Almighty and remove wickedness far from your tent (Job 22: 23)
There is power in your mouth that must be release right now. You are going to release that power today by speaking to your mountains. Try and see if it works or not. The power of life and death is in your mouth, chose to use that power to bring life instead of death. That is how God Himself operates. Remain blessed!
