What are the benefits of pain and suffering at the time? III

Good morning, dear friends! I pray that God’s wisdom that you receive through „Daily Word for Spiritual Edification” lifts you up higher and higher, in Jesus’ name!We are still talking about the advantages that are hidden in pain and sufferings. We have discussed four of them, and they are as follows:
  • Problems draw our attention like nothing else.
  • Problems teach us to trust God.
  • Problems try and purify our faith.
  • Problems shape our character.
Today we will talk about two more advantages.Problems prepare us for eternity. The destination that God has for every believer is spending eternity with Him. God does not want us to think that this world is our home. Apostle Peter says that we are strangers and pilgrims in this world.
«Beloved, I beg you as sojourners and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts which war against the soul» (1 Peter, 2:11).
God desires for us to always look beyond pain and problems and to yearn for the eternal glory that will be revealed at the appearance of the Lord Jesus Christ. Our love and devotion to God grows faster and stronger through sufferings. In order to be glorified with God, the Bible says we have to suffer with Him. If today we take part in His sufferings, then we will be able to rejoice and celebrate His coming.
«..but rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ’s sufferings, that when His glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy. If you are reproached for the name of Christ, blessed are you, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you…» (1 Peter, 4:13-14а).
God knows how to use your pain, your problems and circumstances to prepare you for eternal glory. God sees way further than we do. We only see pain and sufferings, but God sees the eternal glory that awaits us.
«..and if children, then heirs – heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together» (Romans, 8:17).
Character is formed not by sitting in auditoriums, but by going through problems. Character is shaped through hardships.Problems give us a chance to obtain experience for the ministry to other people.
«Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God» (2 Corinthians, 1: 3-4).
Your wounds and your pain that you have experienced can turn into a medicine and healing aid for the one who has just stepped into those things. They help us not only to be compassionate, but also to become experienced ministers of the Lord Jesus Christ. The Bible says that Jesus Himself went through trials and temptations so that He could be able to help those that are tempted.
«For in that He Himself has suffered, being tempted, He is able to aid those who are tempted» (Hebrews, 2: 18).
We also know that the stripes of Jesus have become today the basis of our healing. What would have happen to us today if He had refused to take the beating for our sins and to take upon Himself our weaknesses and diseases? There would be no hope for our healing.
«…who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness – by whose stripes you were healed.» (1 Peter, 2: 24)
So we cannot stop problems from coming into our lives, but we are able to prevent them from having victory over us, as we go through them with dignity, because we understand the potential advantages of the problems and pains in our life!May the Lord strengthen you in the times when you have a serious crisis or problems in your life. May God help you go through your problems with dignity, in Jesus’ name!Blessings to you!Pastor Rufus Ajiboye

  • Worthy Goal for Life II

Yesterday we started talking about our goals. Everyone has them. We discussed that there are worthy and less worthy goals. We also saw that after meeting Christ, Paul devoted his life to Him; earnest expectation of Christ to be glorified in his body and through his life became his main goal in life. It is very important to ascertain for ourselves what our goals are.You and I have been justified by faith in Jesus Christ and we have peace with God. But it is just the beginning. Having been reconciled with God is just the beginning of the Christian walk. What awaits us afterwards? Through faith we gain Access to God’s grace and we expect the glory of God to be progressively revealed in us and through us.
  • Love is spiritual, not physical power

When we walk in love it brings health and strength to our spirits. A strong spirit helps an individual to overcome all sicknesses. But if we give our hearts to hatred, bitterness, revenge, unforgiveness, it undermines our hearts. And when our spirits are weak, we are not able to withstand difficult situation and we fail in life. That is why it says, „who can bear a broken spirit?” Nobody! If you do not walk in love, you get ill, irritated and your hearts is filled with bitterness.
  • How does planning benefit us?

Planning helps to effectively communicate our vision, desires and our expectations to others.Planning not only gives us a better understanding of the task, it also helps us to effectively pass on our wishes and expectations to others who will team with us to carry out the task. How can you ask for help from others, if you do not have a clear understanding of what you really want to accomplish? During the process of planning, your ideas will become more specific and clearer, and then you can effectively pass them on to others.
  • Resist the devil, and he will flee from you, but do not forget that your power to resist the devil is derives from your humility and submission to God

The bible declares that we can successfully resist Satan through the power of the Holy Spirit. When we accept Jesus as our Lord and the Savior of our lives and submit to God, then we have access to the divine power that forces the devil to be on the run anytime we resist to him.“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you” (James 4: 7).
  • Apart from Him there is no true satisfaction and happiness! III

We will continue about Solomon’s search for happiness, satisfaction and the meaning of life. We have already discussed that in the beginning of his life Solomon sought God and loved him, and God gave him wisdom and riches, happiness and fulfilment in life. But Solomon got caught up with superficial things of this world and started to follow other gods. Solomon started seeking for happiness and satisfaction in things and activities. He found only disappointment in them and then he turned back to his beginning. The story of Solomon is a lesson to all of us; it tells us that the meaning of life, happiness and satisfaction cannot be found anywhere but in God alone. So we need to develop and strengthen personal relationships with God.
  • You have been created, redeemed and restored! You were born twice!

We are not only created by God, we are also reworked or recreated by Jesus Christ. We are talking about the opportunity available to sinful people because Christ has come into this world. This is exactly what the letter to Ephesians says:«You were made alive when you were dead in transgressions and sins, in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the powers of the air, the spirit who now works in the children of disobedience; among whom we also all once lived in the lust of our flesh, doing the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest. But God, being rich in mercy, for his great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead through our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up with him, and made us to sit with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come he might show the exceeding riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus; for by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, that no one would boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared before that we would walk in them.» (Ephesians 2:1-10).
