The lordship of Jesus Christ IV

Greetings to you, precious children of God! I bless you this day and pray that the victory of Christ that He gained on Golgotha be reflected in your life, so that all the enemies and all situations would submit to you in the name of Jesus Christ.Today we will continue talking about the lordship of Jesus Christ. We have already established that the lordship of Jesus Christ implies His rule over everything and everyone. We saw that God allowed man to rule over the earth just as He rules and reigns in heaven. This authority was lost through the fall and Adam’s disobedience. But we know that Jesus Christ came to the earth and regained this authority for us. We know that the devil is the main enemy of mankind. He is the one that resists the will of God on the earth.
«And war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought with the dragon; and the dragon and his angels fought, but they did not prevail, nor was a place found for them in heaven any longer. So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, „Now salvation and strength and the kingdom of our God and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accuses them before our God day and night, has been cast down» (Revelation, 12:7-11a).
There was war in heaven, after which the devil was cast out. When he was cast down from heaven it made him furious. Afterwards he deviously stole what God had given the man. Because of it mankind became devil’s hostage. But praise God for His wisdom! God became a man, descended to the earth to take away from the devil what Adam had lost. Jesus Christ after He came to the earth fought with the devil and won total victory over him.
«Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it» (Colossians, 2:15).
Jesus won total victory over the devil and shamed him publicly. Besides winning the victory on the earth, He also descended into hell – the headquarters of the devil where He also overcame him. Death and hell could not keep Him and He rose from the dead. The lordship of Jesus Christ means that He is the Lord in heaven, on the earth and in hell, and everything is submitted to Him.
«..who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father» (Philippians, 2:6-11).
We see that Jesus descended from heaven to the earth, humbled Himself and took the form of a bondservant. The Ruler became a man. Jesus died for us and won a victory, and for this reason God exalted the name of Jesus above every other name. Thus, Jesus is the Lord in heaven, on the earth and in hell. It means that there is no other name – the name of a sickness, a problem, a person etc. – that could come up against the name of Jesus. If we are aware of the authority of Jesus, if we identify ourselves with His rule and submit our lives to it, then we can walk in the name of Jesus and crush under our feet all those things that do not fit the will of God and come up against it. And we will see victory!I pray that the Lord would help us all to grasp the true meaning of the lordship of Jesus. When we proclaim “Jesus is LORD!” having the proper understanding, then it brings changes into our lives. If we allow the revelation of this word to control our actions, then our prayers, sermons, and our reaction to different complicated situations will be totally different, because we will firmly know and understand that Jesus is LORD!Be blessed!Till tomorrow!Pastor Rufus Ajiboye

  • The wisdom of repentance

We do not confess our sins to the Lord it affects our blessings. In the Scripture above it says that „for day and night Your hand was heavy upon me…” Heaviness of the Lord’s hand – it is not a sign of blessing; it is a sign of curse. An unrepentant life takes away an opportunity to move forward in any area of our lives. When we refuse to repent we lose vitality and power and drought comes instead. Vitality is a sign of a blessing, prosperity, but drought is a sign of curse. According to the Bible, in order for us to flourish and prosper and to gain riches we must have vitality or power (Deuteronomy, 8:18). The lack of repentance in a person’s life deprives him of this power.
  • God desires to give you true success

As we said before, a successful person is the one who knows what God wants him to do in his life and has dedicated his life for doing God’s will. Human success is not measured by his social status, banc accounts, and influence in society, popularity or fame in this world. True success is measured by how successful he has been in doing God’s will.Think about it today! God desires to give you true success that can be found in learning and doing God’s will for your life. You are the one who determines what to do with your life: either seeking temporary pleasure and enjoyment or seeking the eternal values of God’s Kingdom and His will for your life.
  • Please stop finding fault and shifting blame

Other people might be responsible for where you are in life, but nobody is responsible for your continuing to stay where you are. Until you stop finding fault and shifting blame, you will not rise up and take responsibility for your advancement in life. Here is what God want you to do from today on:Don’t blame the devil, resist him (James 4: 7); Don’t blame God, obey Him (Genesis 3: 12-13); Don’t blame your challenges and predicaments; fight your way through them by faith (Number chapter 12-14).
  • Never be stopped by problems!

Satan wants to hit our spirit via hardships, trials and problems. When your spirit is strengthened, you can overcome any kind of weakness, get through all kind of hardships and trials. So how can we strengthen our spirit? God´s word and His promises strengthen our spirit and overcome weakness and sufferings. In order to not give up, we need to learn how to lean on the word of God and His promises – fully and unconditionally. We have to learn God´s faithfulness and realise that God will never forsake us unless we abandon Him ourselves.
  • How can our relationships with other people help us change?

All people need change; we help each other through relationships that we are involved. God alone does not need to change; all the people, on the other side, desperately need to change. We need each other and we help each other to change. If we do not understand it and lose sight of it, then it will be hard for us to build any relationships.
