If you want to walk in the favour of God – be a grateful person!

Grace and peace from the Lord be multiplied unto you in the name of Jesus! We are continuing to talk about the power of God’s favour. Since this is a very significant topic I have decided to dedicate more time to it. Today I want to show you how gratitude helps to release favour into the life of a person. So, God wants to tell you that if you want to walk in the favour of God – be a grateful person! Lack of gratitude stops the flow of favour in the life of a person. You cannot be tired of blessing a grateful person. David was a grateful man. He was grateful to God and called others to thank God with him.
«Oh, magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt His name together» (Psalm, 34: 3).
Thanksgiving, praise and worship – all these together make are the secret of David’s success. David appreciated every one of God’s deeds. This is what he said:
“I say down and slept; I awoke, for the Lord sustained me… I will both lie down in peace, and sleep; for You alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety” (Psalm, 3:5; 4:8).
Many people do not pay any attention to these ‘little’ things, but not David. He was a grateful man who commanded his soul to praise and bless the Lord.
«Bless the Lord, O my soul; and all that is within me, bless His holy name! Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits: Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases, Who redeems your life from destruction, Who crowns you with loving kindness and tender mercies, Who satisfies your mouth with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s» (Psalm, 103: 1-5).
If you read about the prayer life of David, you will notice a significant proportion between the number of times he thanked God every day and the number of times he asked for something. He prayed three times a day (Psalm, 54:17), and he praised God seven times a day (Psalm, 119:164).David understood that there are more things he can thank God for in his life that than things to ask for. God has done so much for us, believers. The bible speaks of the fullness we have in Him, so we have to learn to thank God for all His blessings.
«..and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power» (Colossians, 2: 10).
Instead of continuous grumbling and complaining, and being unhappy through life we must learn to thank God for everything.
«In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you» (1 Thessalonians, 5: 18).
I believe that 70% of our prayers should consist of praise and thanksgiving to God. We have all things in Jesus; so our prayers must be focused on this: thanking God that we have everything we need and asking for revelation, wisdom and understanding, so that we’d be able to use everything He has already given us in Christ. Therefore, thanksgiving opens the door for favour, and lack of gratitude closes the door for the flow of God’s favour.Let’s rejoice, give thanks and celebrate before our Creator, for He is the Source of everything we truly need.Be blessed on this day!Pastor Rufus Ajiboye

  • Habit is a compilation of knowledge, skills and willingness III

If we want to have fruitful prayer life, then prayer must become a habit. In order for that to happen we must gain some skills in the area of prayer. Skill means how we do something. When you know what you need to do and why you need to do it, the next step is HOW to do it. If you don’t know how, this activity can’t become a habit. But you won’t be able to learn how, unless you actually start doing it. I won’t know how to pray, unless I start praying. I am sure we already know very much about prayer. You can put to practice this knowledge that you have. Thus you obtain skills. Skills are developed by putting knowledge to practice.
  • How to walk in forgiveness

Stop making excuses for your offenses. When we make excuses, it becomes more difficult for us to get out of the offenses. When we confess any manifestations of offenses and see them as sin before God, then we start walking in the right direction. It is quite possible that you were mistreated, but it does not give you right not to forgive. If your reaction on the things happening to you does not please God – and unforgiveness never pleases God, – then you need to repent and ask God to forgive you.

Calling upon God – means to have habitual prayer life. Prayer helps us to draw near to God and releases His provision, because He is close to all who call upon Him. We also talked about the fact that our provision depends not only on our ability to call upon God, but also on how much we fear God. To fear God means to avoid evil, to do good, to seek peace and to follow it. God’s provision and blessing is the reward of those who fear Him. We also pointed out that God has secrets that are meant for dedicated people who call upon His Name and walk in the fear of the Lord. Besides all of the above, it is important to know that dedication to God is impossible without the love for Him.
  • The blessedness or beauty of serving others! III

Ministry and giving determines the measure of one’s spiritual growth and maturity. It also determines how much I bear a resemblance to Jesus Christ. God wants us to grow spiritually. One of the indications of one’s spiritual growth is how he or she fulfils the needs of others. Such a person not only takes and receives, but also gives. Giving and ministry is one and the same word that determines how much of resemblance to Jesus Christ I bear.It says in the Bible that Jesus came to this earth to serve and not to be served. He is the example of a minister. Many of us want others to serve us. God says that we should minister and serve others. He wants us to be like Jesus.
  • How do we serve God?

We serve God by serving other people in His Name. To serve God actually means to serve other people in the Name of God or as the representative of God on the earth. It is to do good to others by meeting their spiritual, emotional, intellectual, physical or material needs as an act of our love for God. Please understand that your love for God will have a reflection your relationship with others. In the same way, your neglect of God reflects on how you relate to your neighbour.
  • Our life is a product of what we see IV

There are two options for the future. First option is what I call the predictable future. We must carefully look at our past and present. When thinking of the future we must realize that if we don’t change the things we do every day then it will be easy to predict our future, – the future won’t be any different than the present. If we do not make any changes today, then tomorrow we will have the same results; we will live in the same conditions, if not worse.
