If you want to walk in the favour of God – be a grateful person!

Grace and peace from the Lord be multiplied unto you in the name of Jesus!
We are continuing to talk about the power of God’s favour. Since this is a very significant topic I have decided to dedicate more time to it.
Today I want to show you how gratitude helps to release favour into the life of a person’s life. So, God wants to tell you that if you want to walk in the favour of God – be a grateful person!
Lack of gratitude stops the flow of favour in the life of a person. You cannot be tired of blessing a grateful person.
David was a grateful man. He was grateful to God and called others to thank God with him.

«Oh, magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt His name together» (Psalm, 34: 3).

Thanksgiving, praise and worship – all these together are the secret of David’s success. David appreciated every one of God’s deeds. This is what he said:

“I lay down and slept; I awoke, for the Lord sustained me… I will both lie down in peace, and sleep; for You alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety” (Psalm, 3:5; 4:8).

Many people do not pay any attention to these ‘little’ things, but not David. He was a grateful man who commanded his soul to praise and bless the Lord.

«Bless the Lord, O my soul; and all that is within me, bless His holy name! Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits: Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases, Who redeems your life from destruction, Who crowns you with loving kindness and tender mercies, Who satisfies your mouth with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s» (Psalm, 103: 1-5).

If you read about the prayer life of David, you will notice a significant proportion between the number of times he thanked God every day and the number of times he asked for something. He prayed three times a day (Psalm, 54:17), and he praised God seven times a day (Psalm, 119:164).

David understood that there are more things he can thank God for in his life than things to ask for. God has done so much for us believers. The Bible speaks of the fullness we have in Him, so we have to learn to thank God for all His blessings.

«..and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power» (Colossians, 2: 10).

Instead of continuous grumbling and complaining, and being unhappy through life, we must learn to thank God for everything.

«In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you» (1 Thessalonians, 5: 18).

I believe that 70% of our prayers should consist of praise and thanksgiving to God. We have all things in Jesus; so our prayers must be focused on this: thanking God that we have everything we need and asking for revelation, wisdom and understanding, so that we’d be able to use everything He has already given us in Christ.

Therefore, thanksgiving opens the door for favour, and lack of gratitude closes the door for the flow of God’s favour.

Let’s rejoice, give thanks and celebrate before our Creator, for He is the Source of everything we truly need.

Be blessed on this day!

Let’s look at the steps that Solomon took in order to find the meaning of life. We will see what conclusions Solomon came to. The first thing Solomon turned to was acquiring of wisdom and knowledge. «I communed with my heart, saying, „Look, I have attained greatness, and have gained more wisdom than all who were before me in Jerusalem. My heart has understood great wisdom and knowledge.” And I set my heart to know wisdom and to know madness and folly. I perceived that this also is grasping for the wind. For in much wisdom is much grief, and he who increases knowledge increases sorrow» (Ecclesiastes, 1:16-18).

  • Don’t ever allow anything or anybody to stop you from serving.

Friends, no matter how badly people or life itself has treated you, if you want to move ahead in life you have to learn how to focus on the right thing and chose the right life position. If despite all the odds of life you can still focus on using your gifts and talents; if you can still continue to serve people, then you will soon be able to change your status. That was exactly what happened to Joseph. As he served these two officers of pharaoh instead of concentrating on the offences of others, the door to his throne opened to him easily. Pharaoh sent for Joseph and fetched him out of the prison.

  • Ignorance is a matter of personal choice

If a person does not fulfil this duty, he won’t have enough light to see evil and hide from it. Besides, this verse tells us that such a person (he or she is called „simple”) goes ahead and is punished – not by God, but by his own ignorance. Ignorance separates a person from the life of God, because he knows nothing about God’s provision. «..having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart» (Ephesians, 4:18).Because of ignorance human mind is darkened, heart is hardened and he himself is alienated from the life of God.
