If you want to walk in the favour of God – be a grateful person!

Grace and peace from the Lord be multiplied unto you in the name of Jesus! We are continuing to talk about the power of God’s favour. Since this is a very significant topic I have decided to dedicate more time to it. Today I want to show you how gratitude helps to release favour into the life of a person’s life. So, God wants to tell you that if you want to walk in the favour of God – be a grateful person! Lack of gratitude stops the flow of favour in the life of a person. You cannot be tired of blessing a grateful person. David was a grateful man. He was grateful to God and called others to thank God with him.
«Oh, magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt His name together» (Psalm, 34: 3).
Thanksgiving, praise and worship – all these together are the secret of David’s success. David appreciated every one of God’s deeds. This is what he said:
“I lay down and slept; I awoke, for the Lord sustained me… I will both lie down in peace, and sleep; for You alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety” (Psalm, 3:5; 4:8).
Many people do not pay any attention to these ‘little’ things, but not David. He was a grateful man who commanded his soul to praise and bless the Lord.
«Bless the Lord, O my soul; and all that is within me, bless His holy name! Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits: Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases, Who redeems your life from destruction, Who crowns you with loving kindness and tender mercies, Who satisfies your mouth with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s» (Psalm, 103: 1-5).
If you read about the prayer life of David, you will notice a significant proportion between the number of times he thanked God every day and the number of times he asked for something. He prayed three times a day (Psalm, 54:17), and he praised God seven times a day (Psalm, 119:164).David understood that there are more things he can thank God for in his life than things to ask for. God has done so much for us believers. The Bible speaks of the fullness we have in Him, so we have to learn to thank God for all His blessings.
«..and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power» (Colossians, 2: 10).
Instead of continuous grumbling and complaining, and being unhappy through life, we must learn to thank God for everything.
«In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you» (1 Thessalonians, 5: 18).
I believe that 70% of our prayers should consist of praise and thanksgiving to God. We have all things in Jesus; so our prayers must be focused on this: thanking God that we have everything we need and asking for revelation, wisdom and understanding, so that we’d be able to use everything He has already given us in Christ. Therefore, thanksgiving opens the door for favour, and lack of gratitude closes the door for the flow of God’s favour.Let’s rejoice, give thanks and celebrate before our Creator, for He is the Source of everything we truly need.Be blessed on this day!Pastor Rufus Ajiboy

  • We have to be ready to go wherever God sends us to

As we concluded yesterday, we have to become obedient disciples, so that our families, our church and our towns can be stirred. God uses obedient disciples to fulfil His prophesies and restore His will on Earth. Even more, we have to be ready to go wherever God sends us to. Thus we can fulfil our calling. Obedience to call begins with obedience to short instructions God gives to us through His word and our leaders in Christ. It´s also important to know that Jesus knows everything, He possesses all hidden information, necessary for our mission. That´s why obedience to the Lord who knows everything is vitally important! When Jesus had a need for a donkey to ride upon to Jerusalem, He knew where to find the animal. He knew where to go and find that donkey. He knew how to bring that donkey to Him.

«Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness! ’» (Matthew, 7:21-23).
  • Worthy Goal for Life II

Yesterday we started talking about our goals. Everyone has them. We discussed that there are worthy and less worthy goals. We also saw that after meeting Christ, Paul devoted his life to Him; earnest expectation of Christ to be glorified in his body and through his life became his main goal in life. It is very important to ascertain for ourselves what our goals are.You and I have been justified by faith in Jesus Christ and we have peace with God. But it is just the beginning. Having been reconciled with God is just the beginning of the Christian walk. What awaits us afterwards? Through faith we gain Access to God’s grace and we expect the glory of God to be progressively revealed in us and through us.
  • Life without prayer is a road to nowhere

When a person repents, he can start developing his prayer life. We must know that God does not turn away from us even when we do not pray. God is very patient and He wants us to understand that without prayer we are spiritually weak and unable to enter the things He has prepared for us. Effective prayer is the thing that opens a way for us and allows God to walk ahead of us. God waits until we come to full realization of it. He is good to His children, but His goodness must lead us to repentance. Many people do not understand it. Sometimes we do things that go against God’s orders and at the same time we feel like it is alright.
  • The blessedness or beauty of serving others

Today I would like to start discussing about the blessedness or beauty of serving others.Ministry is a widespread concept among believers. In essence, ministry is giving of all things: giving of one’s talents and gifts, one’s knowledge and time, one’s heart and resources. The Kingdom of God is built through such giving. Your church is built by your giving and ministry. It says in the Bible that it is more blessed to give than to receive. God blesses those who serve, so if you want to get to the top of God’s blessedness learn to serve God and people.
