We multiply our talents by using them and putting them to practise

Peace and grace to you from our Lord Jesus Christ! Today – through the mercy and love of God – we have been given one more day; let us use this day to the maximum, giving glory to God in all that we do.We have been talking about our gifts and talents and the fact that it is very important what we do with them.A man once told me that he was fed up with listening to his pastor call the people to serve in the church. This person asked me, «What should I do?» I told him that if he had come to our church, he would have heard the same invitation.Serving God is something that is necessary for us, not God. When we serve God, it transforms our character, makes us stronger, and draws us closer to Him.Find for yourself a place in the Kingdom and then do some quality work. It is not important how old you are – young or old. Serve Him and build His Kingdom! Every single day you should apply the gifts of God for His glory. Seek out the ways to promote His Kingdom through all your gifts. Also, you should continuously study, develop your capabilities and grow.We have already established that gifts are given to everyone.
«And to one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one, to each according to his own ability» (Mathew, 25:15).
We do not need to compare our talents with the talents of others. We are given abilities that match our talents, not the talents of another person. Not having a particular talent, I am not able to do what another person who has that talent does. Having a talent or not having it does not make one person better than another. Every one of us is the best for God. Even the person from the parable who received only one talent is the best for God. God did not give him one talent because He considered him to be a bad person. No, God gave him one talent because his abilities were on the level of one talent. God did not want to give him more than he could bear or manage. God does not want to destroy us; he wants to stretch us. God gave you talents to multiply them. How can we multiply our gifts and talents? What should we do for it to happen? Do you really know your talents? We multiply our talents by using them and putting them into practice. We have to apply our gifts. We must find for ourselves a place in the church, in God’s Kingdom. Your barrenness is nobody’s fault but yours. Learn to apply your talents and do it well. Whatever you do, do it well to be called a good and faithful servant. The word „faithful” contains deep meaning. You can depend on a faithful servant; he is reliable; he never lets down.May God help all of us to become good and faithful servants of the Lord in His Kingdom.Pastor Rufus Ajiboy

  • The counselling II

A good counsellor should help a person to perceive his problem from God’s viewpoint. People must first notice the problem, and only then they will have any interest in solving it. Very often we do something wrong simply because we do not believe our actions to be erroneous. So, one of the tasks of any counsellor is to open person’s eyes so that he or she can discover what actually is going on in his or her life, how God sees the situation, realize that his or her lifestyle is causing problems. It is a very important quality that we must develop in ourselves so that we can be effective in helping others.
  • Responsibility as a Key to Success!

Why is it important to be a responsible person? One of the reasons is that the level of authority and power is directly related to how responsible you are. Even if you seem to have authority with people, but you treat life lightly, it is highly probable that soon enough you will lose your standing with people. And it applies to all settings: whether it is church, family, business or individuals. Responsibility, success and authority – all these phenomena are closely related. You cannot be successful and irresponsible at the same time.
  • What it means to accept personal responsibility

If you can remember, yesterday we talked about the fact that what defiles a person is not what is done to him, but his personal reaction to that. In the following Scripture we saw that neither the man nor the woman were willing to take personal responsibility for their actions.„The man said, “The woman you put here with me–she gave me some fruit from the tree, and I ate it.» Then the LORD God said to the woman, “What is this you have done?” The woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.” (GEN 3:12-13)
  • Your surrounding has an impact on you, it determines whether you enter the destiny God has prepared for you or you don´t

How and with whom you spend your time reflect your consecration and desire to do God´s will. Looking at the life of Jesus, we can see whom He preferred to spend most of His time with, namely, those who similar to Him desired to do God´s will. If you surround yourself with people who are not going anywhere in this life, you will soon lose your purpose and direction in your life as well. Spending a lot of time with those who have no revelation about their lives soon also you won´t be able to see the goal of your life. Exactly these things happened to Abraham. God called him out of his country, his relatives and his father´s house to the land God showed to him.
  • Jesus as the example of a true minister

We see that Jesus experienced serious difficulties in the days of His earthly life, but He did not focus on them. Jesus was busy serving the Father and those He was sent to serve. While Jesus served people, the Father made sure people ministered to Jesus; God met Jesus’ needs through His ministry. When we serve others, God motivates others to serve us. We always reap what we have sown. We do not serve people because we do not have any problems, – we serve people because it pleases God. And when we serve, despite the fact that we have problems, needs and concerns, God makes sure some people that we do not even know serve us by meeting our needs
  • Don’t serve those things over which you, suppose to dominate according to the will of God

“ And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath: 28 Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the Sabbath”In this short statement of Jesus Christ there a very important lesson is hidden for us. God is saying here that the sabbath was made for manand not man for the sabbath. In life it is often possible to observe such a picture where by those things over which man is meant to dominate, are dominating over him instead. This distortion of the order established by God often result in many tragic problems in people’s life today.
