God wants you to use everything He has given you for His Kingdom III

Welcome to “Daily Word for Spiritual Edification”!Once again we are going to talk about the parable of Jesus about talents. Yesterday we saw what the first two servants did after they received their assignment from the master. We also saw how the master assessed their effort. He called them good and faithful servants. We talked about the fact that these people did not waste any time and got to work; they worked hard until they made profit from what they were given. The master appreciated their work and promoted them and gave them even more. They heard amazing words spoken about them:
«His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord’» (Mathew, 25:23).
Some people get tired and need help even before they start to do something significant. But tell me! Is it possible that you need rest or take a break from God? Is it possible that you need rest from serving Him? No! We can serve God everywhere. You can be on a plane and serve people who sit by you. You can serve God on a beach, at work, everywhere; because in all of these places there are people who need God.The Bible describes a situation when Jesus and His disciples were tired and went to solitary place to get away from the people and recuperate.
«And He said to them, „Come aside by yourselves to a deserted place and rest a while.” For there were many coming and going, and they did not even have time to eat. So they departed to a deserted place in the boat by themselves» (Mark, 6:31-32).
But Jesus did not really rest because multitude of people came to this place.
«But the multitudes saw them departing, and many knew Him and ran there on foot from all the cities» (Mark, 6:33).
Jesus did not tell these people that He was tired and could not minister to them. No, the Bible says quite the opposite.
„And Jesus, when He came out, saw a great multitude and was moved with compassion for them, because they were like sheep not having a shepherd. So he began to teach them many things” (Mark, 6:34).
Many believers are afraid to overwork themselves when serving God and people. Some consider that they show God a favour when they come to church on Sundays. Some think that coming to church for two Sundays in a row is too much and too hard, because Sundays are for rest.In order for you to use your gifts and talents you need to be wise. You should not give yourself to just anything, but you should get ready, get qualified and grow. You must multiply your knowledge and grow in different areas of your life, so that you can invest yourself and your talents.God desires to see these three things in His Church:– that we are not afraid to work;– that we do not waste time;– that we prepare ourselves and grow, thus making ourselves useful and profitable, being able to utilize the gifts given to us by God.How are you using your time today? What are you doing to get more qualified and develop your talents? These things should be taken into consideration, and if you do that, some things might change after today.Till tomorrow!Peace of God be with you!Pastor Rufus Ajiboye

  • In order for you to be constant in this life you need to overcome human factor!

«And behold, a woman of Canaan came from that region and cried out to Him, saying, “Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David! My daughter is severely demon-possessed.” But He answered her not a word» (Mathew, 15: 22-23). At the time when a woman from Canaan was following Jesus and asking for help, His disciples were telling her to leave. That is what I call a human factor.
  • Without God I cannot, but with Him I can do all!

We can not do the works of God without God. Very often in our own strength, we try to do what God requires us to do with Him. Often we rely on ourselves and on things we already know. Often we rely on our experience. But when the prayer is our priority we understand that when relying on ourselves and doing the job without prayer, we are wasting time and energy. Without a strong prayer movement in the church, the church vision cannot be accomplished. It´s just not possible!
  • Why do people choose to be irresponsible? IV

«Poverty and shame will come to him who disdains correction, but he who regards a rebuke will be honoured» (Proverbs, 13:18).When an individual does not accept correction and advice, then it makes it difficult to help him to become more responsible. As we have mentioned before, an irresponsible person always considers himself to be right; in his opinion he never errs and because of it he has a hard time accepting reprimand and correction. If a person has come to a point when nobody can speak into his life, then downfall of such a person is practically inevitable.
  • How do we acquire such “great faith”?

Let’s try to find the answer to that question today. The Bible declares that faith comes from hearing God’s Word (Rom.10:17). So if you want your faith to grow, my advice to you is this– continue to listen to Gods word and fill your heart and mind with it.At the same time be ready for your faith to be tested. You cannot find out if your faith is growing without examination. Problems and trials are tests of your faith.
  • So a disciplined person is able to subject or control himself

A disciplined person is always in submission to certain set of rules and order. If you do not have any rules or regulations, if you avoid the word ‘order’, in your life, then you are undisciplined, and you won’t be able to experience any spiritual progress or growth.Spiritual growth which is related to positive changes in a person’s life is not a heritage meant for undisciplined people. If a person lacks discipline, he will always break and ignore rules and regulations. It does not matter how many sets of rules and regulations he impose on himself for noble purposes, an undisciplined man will break them all as soon as he made them.
  • Through prayer we invite God to take part in our lives

God does not come into our lives without being asked. Praying means to invite God to come and help us. It is a realization of the fact that I am weak and there is One Who is stronger than me, Who loves me and cares for me. Prayer is an invitation to the One Who is stronger than me and my circumstances.Do you remember Jairus? We read about him in Mark (5:22-23). He had sent his people to Jesus to invite Him to his house, because his daughter was on the verge of death.
