Grateful people – they are people able for self-sacrifice! II

I am glad to greet you again in our column „Daily Word for Spiritual Strength”!We are continuing speaking about the fact that every person who loves God is a person able for self-sacrifice.Yesterday we were speaking about Abraham, who loved God not only in his words but also in his works. As a sign of his gratitude, Abraham built altars and offered sacrifices for God.Let us look at another time when Abraham built and altar for the Lord:
“The LORD said to Abram after Lot had parted from him, “Lift up your eyes from where you are and look north and south, east and west. All the land that you see I will give to you and your offspring forever. I will make your offspring like the dust of the earth, so that if anyone could count the dust, then your offspring could be counted. Go, walk through the length and breadth of the land, for I am giving it to you.” So Abram moved his tents and went to live near the great trees of Mamre at Hebron, where he built an altar to the LORD.”(Genesis 13:14-18).
We see that building an altar was the correct response of Abraham towards God’s grace.If we learn to appreciate and cherish everything that God does in our lives, then it will be natural for us to sacrifice or build and altar for God.Know that when speaking about sacrifice, God will never ever ask you for something that you do not have! His love does not require that, God’s love is not abusive. If you truly love someone, you will never ask from them what they do not have.Forget about what you do not have, think about what you do have. Be sure that you own a lot!As a church we can be more useful and influential than we are today. We can do more, give more; we can have more. People must rise, people-worshippers who will love God and who will not hold back their abilities, wisdom, experience, time and finances in order to build the Kingdom of God. Worshippers are easy to be directed. Worship is not just singing songs. Worship costs something! And they who pay this price, are the true worshippers of God.Do not deceive yourself; if you seriously want to follow God, then build your altar and bring all of your favourite sine upon it: pride, selfishness, ambitions, lust of flesh, and lust of eyes. Bring upon it your time, your gifts, abilities, knowledge, talents, experience, etc. Thus you can become a powerful instrument in the hands of God to expand His Kingdom and spread His perfect aroma. Understand that if you are able to sacrifice to God, then reward from Him will be much larger that that what you can give to Him.Do you love the Lord more than anything in your life? Begin to prove it with your way of life and self-sacrifice!May God bless you!Pastor Rufus Ajiboye

    Prayer is spiritual effort.Prayer has nothing to do with our intellectual abilities. It has everything to do with our spirit, so it is spiritual labour. Prayer is the spirit of man appealing to God Who also is Spirit. God is Spirit and a man is spirit, so effective prayer is communication and fellowship of human spirit with the Spirit of God. Prayer is spiritual aspiration for God. Of course, our mind has its part in prayer, but if prayer only stays in the realm of mind, but the spirit does not connect with God, then it is not prayer at all. Every time I have touched God in prayer, my spirit knows it has connected with God and I know I have communicated with God.

    I welcome you to „Daily Word for Spiritual Edification”! We have been talking about how to enter out ministry. We have established that, first; we have to have a strong desire to serve God with our gifts and talents. We discussed the tact that ministry helps us to discover our potential. We know now that God desires us to be fruitful and glorify Him on earth. Also, every one of us has to find out for himself what he can serve with.     God’s Word is treasure we must treat right; through it we have to be established in the eternal life given to us by God. It says in the Bible: «It is the glory of God to conceal a matter, but the glory of kings is to search out a matter» (Proverbs, 25:2).

    1) Jesus gave some commandments to the Apostles BY THE HOLY SPIRIT (verse 2).Jesus Himself relied on the Holy Spirit in everything He did during His days in flesh. When He took on flesh, He was limited by it and He needed the Holy Spirit. As people we live in flesh and we also are limited by it. The only way for us to overcome these limitations is to rely on the Holy Spirit. We must be aware of the necessity and our dependency on the Holy Spirit. We must seek Him daily.

    «A man’s gift makes room for him, and brings him before great men» (Proverbs, 18: 16).Studying the church history, we see that all of God’s generals didn’t start big. These people used what they had and did whatever they could. They began using the abilities they had. Eventually, their gifts found their place in the Body of Christ and grew into large ministries.For example, Dr. T.L. Osborn saw that people needed salvation, so he started meeting this need to the best of his ability: he started printing little tracts on his printing machine and went door to door leaving them in their post boxes. At the time he couldn’t even imagine that it will lead him to huge international evangelistic ministry that he has today.
