Do You Hear What God Speaks?

Peace to you and grace from God our Father and our Lord Jesus Christ!I greet you in our column “Daily Word for Spiritual Strength”! Today, I want to start a conversation about a very significant theme: Do You Hear What God Speaks.God speaks constantly! The question is whether you hear what He says.God created everything by His Word, and He holds everything together by the power of His Word.
“And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.” (Genesis 1:3).
“The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of His being, sustaining all things by His powerful word. After He had provided purification for sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.” (Hebrews 1:3).
Once Jesus said,
“My sheep listen to My voice; I know them, and they follow Me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of My Father’s hand.” (John 10:27-29).
In this excerpt, Jesus speaks about the sheep that hear His voice. Jesus said about them, “I give them eternal life.” He did not say, “I gavethem eternal life”. The word “gave” is the past form, and if Jesus had said that He had given eternal life, this would mean that God has already given eternal life and it is forever. But, as Jesus used the word “give”, this is understood as present tense, but not as the eternal life which we received after we repented by receiving Jesus as our Lord and Saviour. Jesus speaks about every-day salvation which He grants us if we obey and follow His voice every day.Once God opened my eyes to see the difference between the life of resurrection which we received after repentance, and the life in abundance which we enjoy every day. The life of resurrection is within us and we receive it the day we repent. But today we can meet very many people who have the life of resurrection, but they are unhappy. How many such believers do you know – they come to church but at the same time they are not satisfied with their lives? There are very many such people! What is the problem? The problem is that they have the life of resurrection, but they do not have the life in abundance. What is the difference between the life of resurrection and the life in abundance? Jesus said,
“My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand.” (John 10:27-28).
By this, Jesus wanted to say that no shocks and no problems or obstacles will not snatch His sheep out of God’s hands as long as they hear His voice.Whether we want it or not, we constantly hear someone’s voice.Sometimes you can hear your voice of common sense, which impose and dictate to you certain thoughts. However, if you live by the voice of your common sense, you’ll never be able to enter the supernatural sphere, from which God initiates His works. Your mind cannot understand God, therefore life dictated by common sense prevents that you receive from God what He has prepared for you.Bible says:
“However, as it is written: “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love Him.”” (1.Corinthians 2:9).
If this is so, but the Bible – it is the truth, your common sense does not know the whole truth about your life, about your circumstances and your future. The common sense must not dictate us, what we believe or believe not. Every believer must learn to intentionally ignore the voice of common sense, especially when it does not coincide with what God says. You cannot hear God’s voice, if you listen all the time to the voice of your common sense.May God richly bless you today! We will meet tomorrow!Pastor Rufus Ajiboye

  • What are the benefits of pain and suffering at the time?

Problems draw our attention faster than anything else.Problems can become a spiritual “alarm clock” from God. This is what Job (36:15) points out: “He delivers the poor in their affliction, and opens their ears in oppression”.In times of prosperity and abundance we hear God as whispering, but in times of pain and suffering we hear Him loud and clear. God has an ability to revive our attention towards His Word and His voice. That is why Solomon says that in times of abundance we should enjoy life, but in times of suffering we should think about our life.
  • Doctrine shows us which direction we should take

When we read the Bible we receive doctrine, which means we start to see where we should go. Through the reading of the Bible we are shown the direction for our thought life, our words and all other areas of our lives.Besides, the Bible is profitable for reproof. Quite often we start walking the way the Bible has shown us, but then we somehow get distracted, lose the right direction and get sidetracked. It is through reproof that we are shown that we have taken the wrong path
  • We have to be ready to go wherever God sends us to

As we concluded yesterday, we have to become obedient disciples, so that our families, our church and our towns can be stirred. God uses obedient disciples to fulfil His prophesies and restore His will on Earth. Even more, we have to be ready to go wherever God sends us to. Thus we can fulfil our calling. Obedience to call begins with obedience to short instructions God gives to us through His word and our leaders in Christ. It´s also important to know that Jesus knows everything, He possesses all hidden information, necessary for our mission. That´s why obedience to the Lord who knows everything is vitally important! When Jesus had a need for a donkey to ride upon to Jerusalem, He knew where to find the animal. He knew where to go and find that donkey. He knew how to bring that donkey to Him.
  • Presence of God V

God so desires for us to seek Him early in the morning. He so desires for us to return to Him. He wants to heal us and to bind up our wounds. God so wants to revive and restore us, so that we could live before Him. When we seek the Lord, when we seek to know Him, He comes and immerses us into His presence; He pours out His rain on us and waters the earth.Yesterday we talked about how Moses set up a tabernacle outside the camp for all seekers of the Lord. We also saw that instead of entering the tabernacle and seeking the face of the Lord, Israelites were simply observing how Moses spoke to God and how God answered Moses.
  • Life is a Purpose

God has created each of you for a certain purpose. God has a common purpose and a personal (individual) purpose for each of us. Our common goal is to glorify the Lord. However, God also has a peculiar purpose He has created every individual to fulfill. I was sent to the Earth to solve certain problems. If you are driven by such awareness you will live a strategical life. Each of you has a certain goal and a purpose set by God.
