Change always comes through prayer! II

Welcome, dear readers, to the pages of „Daily Word for Spiritual Edification»! I thank God for every one of you and pray that your hunger for the Word of God and His wisdom will not grow cold. God’s wisdom casts out all darkness from our lives and brings advancement.

We are still talking about the fact that changes and God’s miracles in our lives depend on us. The example of Hannah showed us that by trusting God, turning her tears into a cry of prayer, and believing God even while seeing no outward change and being ridiculed and humiliated by the people around her, this woman experienced a true miracle in her life.

We have read about many situations like these in the Bible.

  • You remember Jacob, who said to God,
«I will not let You go unless You bless me!» (Genesis, 32:26).

Jacob’s persistence in prayer and his tenacity became proof of his faith, and so he received a clear miracle from God.

  • The Bible also tells us the story of blind Bartimaeus, who kept crying out to Jesus for help until He stopped and listened to him.
“Now they came to Jericho. As He went out of Jericho with His disciples and a great multitude, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the road begging. And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out and say, „Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” So Jesus stood still and commanded him to be called. Then they called the blind man, saying to him, „Be of good cheer. Rise, He is calling you.” And throwing aside his garment, he rose and came to Jesus. So Jesus answered and said to him, „What do you want Me to do for you?” The blind man said to Him, „Rabboni, that I may receive my sight.” Then Jesus said to him, „Go your way; your faith has made you well.” And immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus on the road” (Mark, 10: 46-52).

Bartimaeus himself brought about his miracle and received his sight.

  • Hannah spoke to God, pouring out to Him a heart full of misery and distress.
«No, my lord, I am a woman of sorrowful spirit. I have drunk neither wine nor intoxicating drink, but have poured out my soul before the LORD» (1 Samuel, 1: 15).

In her prayer Hannah appeared drunk to an outside observer; she was totally lost in the presence of God and forgot about the people around her.

If you desire to see and experience a miracle from God in your life, then you must forget what other people think of the way you pray. In your season of seeking God, you must be concerned about one thing only: how sincere your heart is as you pray and how great your desire is to experience His intervention. Keep trusting and crying out to God even when everyone else has grown weary and lost faith in any possibility of your life changing. God loves consistent and faithful people. He always has a reward for people like that.

Tomorrow we will finish talking about this topic, and we will see what the result of Hannah’s prayer and trust was.
