Preparation is a key to effective life II

Greetings to you all, my friends and welcome to our column “Daily word for spiritual strength”! I am thankful to God for each of you and I pray, so that you are still thirsty for God´s word and His wisdom, thirsty for fellowship with Him, for He is the source of our life.

Yesterday we started to talk about preparation needed in order to make our life effective. We also clarified that once preparation process has begun today, tomorrow will bring new opportunities and victories into your life. In opposite case, your tomorrow will bring you only bitterness and failures. `

The Bible says, that right today if you hear His voice and His word, you must obey and submit yourself to Him. It ensures your preparation process for God´s magnificent plan for tomorrow.

«while it is said, “Today if you will hear his voice, don’t harden your hearts, as in the rebellion.” For who, when they heard, rebelled? No, didn’t all those who came out of Egypt by Moses? With whom was he displeased forty years? Wasn’t it with those who sinned, whose bodies fell in the wilderness? To whom did he swear that they wouldn’t enter into his rest, but to those who were disobedient (Hebrews 3:15-18).

Your tomorrow is the outcome of your today´s efforts and time you spend. Your today impacts your tomorrow, therefore, you better prepare yourself for tomorrow, use your time to develop yourself, building up your character and skills. If you disobey God today, you will not be able to enter your promised land tomorrow, due to the cruelty of your heart. If you take care for today, God will take care for your tomorrow then.

«So Jotham became mighty, because he ordered his ways before Yahweh his God (2 Chronicles 27:6).

Jotham became mighty not by accident, not at all. Vice verse, his strength was quite understandable, because he ordered his ways before God. Jotham was concerned with the question of his spiritual preparation. Those who are well prepared for this life have more chances to succeed. You will get from your life what you are prepared for, not what you want.

«David said, Solomon my son is young and tender, and the house that is to be built for Yahweh must be exceedingly magnificent, of fame and of glory throughout all countries: I will therefore make preparation for it. So David prepared abundantly before his death.»(1 Chronicles 22:5).

Preparation increases your chances to succeed on any level. Solomon managed to successfully build a Tabernacle, that looked exceedingly magnificent, of fame and glory throughout all the countries, because it followed the serious preparation, for both Solomon and His father David. The great Tabernacle building process took place after a serious preparation.

Studying the story about Israel conquering the promised land we also notice the preparation phase prior to this.

«Pass through the midst of the camp, and command the people, saying, Prepare food; for within three days you are to pass over this Jordan, to go in to possess the land, which Yahweh your God gives you to possess it.» (Joshua 1:11).

There is a plenty of different examples in the Bible about the preparation followed by victory, success and prosperity in the lives of many people.

Abraham Lincoln once said: «Give me six hours to chop down a tree and I will spend the first four sharpening the axe.»

No doubt, opportunity finds only those who are prepared. God has prepared wonderful blessings for you, also new opportunities, but it´s only up to you and your readiness whether you use these opportunities or not.

Be blessed in the Lord today! Meet you tomorrow! Rufus Adjiboye, pastor

  • Do not waste your time, but rather invest in what will outlive your time on earth

Send your treasures to heaven by investing in those who are going there. Many are rich with goods and treasures of this world, but they are poor toward God. The Bible call such people fools:20″But God said to him, “You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself?” 21This is how it will be with anyone who stores up things for himself but is not rich toward God.” (Luke 12: 20-21)
  • The importance of favouring the Kingdom of God

The point is that favour can be sown not just in relation to other people, but also in relation to God and His work on the earth. Your attitude towards the work of the Kingdom will determine the level of Kingdom blessings operating in your life.«You will rise and have mercy of Zion; for the time to favour her, yes, the set time, has come. For Your servants take pleasure in her stones, and show favour to her dust So the nations shall fear the name of the Lord, and all the kings of the earth Your glory» (Psalm 102:13-15).
  • Through prayer we invite God to take part in our lives

God does not come into our lives without being asked. Praying means to invite God to come and help us. It is a realization of the fact that I am weak and there is One Who is stronger than me, Who loves me and cares for me. Prayer is an invitation to the One Who is stronger than me and my circumstances.Do you remember Jairus? We read about him in Mark (5:22-23). He had sent his people to Jesus to invite Him to his house, because his daughter was on the verge of death.
  • What is a breakthrough? II

Breakthrough always changes a person’s status and position. Today, I want to draw your attention to the fact that in this story, not only the crippled man experienced a breakthrough but also Peter and John, the Apostles. Not only the cripples need a breakthrough. Every person needs a breakthrough!Along with the crippled man, also Peter and John, the Apostles, experienced a breakthrough, because miracles that had not happened beforein through their ministry took place exactly on that day. Ever since then, different miracles never ceased in their lives and ministries. Even the shadow of Peter who started healing the sick as he passed by them. Imagine what will happen to you when you begin to experience a continual breakthrough in every sphere of your life.
  • What it means to accept personal responsibility

If you can remember, yesterday we talked about the fact that what defiles a person is not what is done to him, but his personal reaction to that. In the following Scripture we saw that neither the man nor the woman were willing to take personal responsibility for their actions.„The man said, “The woman you put here with me–she gave me some fruit from the tree, and I ate it.» Then the LORD God said to the woman, “What is this you have done?” The woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.” (GEN 3:12-13)
  • Confess your sins and repent of them as soon as the Holy Spirit convicts you

«For there is nothing hidden which will not be revealed, nor has anything been kept secret but that it should come to light» (Mark, 4:22).Here we see a very important truth spoken by Jesus. According to this Scripture everything hidden will be revealed. If we accept this truth then we will want to live righteously before God and men. Our every wrongdoing and ungodly deed sooner or later will be brought out in the light, and all our secret works sooner or later will come into the open; all our unconfessed, unrecognized and secret sins sooner or later will become obvious for everybody.
