God’s Word is a compass for us

Greetings to you, dear friends!Praise God for this wonderful day that the Lord has given us! Thank God for yet another opportunity to be filled with His living word!God’s Word is a compass for us, and without it we will be wandering in the wilderness of life not being able to find the way out.God’s Word is like a navigation system that helps us to see where we took the wrong turn. So God’s Word reproves us. It shows us how we can get back on the right track. So, it corrects us. Also God’s Word helps us to stay on course and not get lost. So, it instructs us in righteousness
«All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work» (2 Timothy, 3:16-17).
Yesterday we saw that fulfilment and happiness in life is only possible when a person has learned to live by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God! Today we will continue with the thought that the true purpose of ministry is to draw people to the Lord and His ways.A young ruler once came to Jesus and addressed as «Good Teacher! ». To this, Jesus answered and said no one is good but God alone:
«Now a certain ruler asked Him, saying, “Good Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?” Se Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God» (Luke, 18:18-19).
What does it mean? Jesus used His influence to draw people to God. Because of His good deeds people called Him Good Teacher. But in moments like that Jesus always helped people to see that He is only good because the Good God lives in and through Him. This is an example for all those who want to serve God appropriately. For example, let’s assume that you meet a person in the park somewhere and start talking with him; you learn that he has been recently divorced and suffers because of it. It is possible that you also have recently experienced some heartbreaking situation and understand his feelings quite well. Your experience can become a great blessing for this person and provide the necessary support in this hard time of his life. But you have to remember that you must not become God for this person; through this situation, you must reveal God to him because He was the one who helped you in the time of need. Yes, you are the one who is helping and encouraging this person, but at the same time you must help him realize that God is the only One who is able to solve his/her problem and heal his/her broken heart. You become a guide that leads this person to God. And now he or she is no longer focused on you, but on God Who is omnipotent! This is the very essence of our ministry! When all is said and done, you will stand aside and experience deep satisfaction form the work God is doing in the lives of the people you have ministered to. And the people will be grateful to you for being bold enough to share with them the truth about the Saviour Jesus Christ and to proclaim to them the good news of the Kingdom God!Serve the Lord and He will bless youк bread and water!Till tomorrow! Pastor Rufus Ajiboye

  • How can we earn promotion? II

Who of you desires for God to be with you as the Partner at home, at work, and everywhere else? God wants it more than we do. But God can not deviate from His principles. Many believers deceive themselves thinking that God is with them, even though their life does not testify of it. It is a paradox. You may think that since God has promised to be with you and never to leave you or forsake you, He is indebted to be with you. It is also possible that God is with us, but not in a pleasant way. It is not about God; it is about how we live.
  • Faith without love is not biblical faith!

If you have faith, but do not have love, then, according to Paul, you are “sounding brass and a clanging cymbal” and you are “nothing”. Faith without love does not work. That is why it is so important to learn to walk in love. Otherwise our hearts won’t be able to go through the last day attacks. Faith will not work without love! What are you going to do when people will hate, persecute and hurt you? Will you get offended and look for the ways to pay them back and do evil? That is the reaction of flesh; that is the reaction of a natural man.
  • We must be grateful to God in all things!

When things go fine and when God answers our prayers, it is easy to thank God, – at those times we thank God and adore Him. But as soon as God decides to answer us in a way that does not fit our plans, we start thinking whether there is any sense in prayer. The Bible calls us to thank God in everything. The Bible calls us to praise God aloud so that other people would hear it. Be grateful to God, praise him, and sing to Him – aloud! Thanksgiving is the very model of prayer that Jesus gave to His disciples.
  • We can only be defiled by the things that come from within!

When we talk about changes, we talk about the condition of one’s heart. What others do to us does not come from us; it is directed towards us to test the condition of our hearts. Our reaction to the actions of others and the outside pressure determine the content of our hearts.«Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life» (Proverbs, 4:23).

What is our response like today? How do we express our gratitude to God for the fact that we live, that He protects us, that He has saved us, that we breathe, walk, and we have families and children? What God is doing for us today – does it help us be more open, sacrifice more and become better worshippers?
