Our sins and the sins of others are the main reasons of tragedies

Greetings to you, dear friends!

Praise God for this wonderful day which God has given you! Thank God for one more opportunity to be filled with His living Word! We are still talking about how to turn tragedy into triumph.

The majority of tragedies and disasters on earth that daily destroy great many people are a result of lawlessness of the people living on earth.

«So you shall not pollute the land where you are; for blood defiles the land, and no atonement can be made for the land, for the blood that is shed on it, except by the blood of him who shed it. Therefore do not defile the land which you inhabit, in the midst of which I dwell; for I the LORD dwell among the children of Israel» (Numbers, 35:33-34).

According to these passages of Scripture bloodshed or murder defile the land bringing curse on the land and its people. Here we read that the atonement of this curse cannot be made without the shedding of the blood of those people that are guilty of shedding of innocent blood. In other words, only the shedding of blood of the one who has killed someone can atone or annul this bloodshed. .

Jesus said that the Holy Scripture cannot be ignored (John, 10:35), thus we cannot avoid the curse that comes on earth because of the shedding of innocent blood through wars, terrorism, murder etc.

On this site http://www.worldometers.info/abortions/ you can find official data about abortions done in the world. This information is published by World Health organization. According to this data, every year about 40-50 million of women face unwanted pregnancies and make a decision to abort their babies. It is about 125 000 abortions a day.

The data of Alan Gutmaher Institute tells us that abortion is legal in 54 countries of the world, which is 61 % of the world population. And only 97 countries (39 % of the world population) abortions are not legalized. Every year approximately 46 million abortions are performed; 20 million of them are done illegally.

Praise God for the Blood of Christ that has been shed for atonement of every person and every nation from this curse. Otherwise we would not be able to get out of this vicious circle that we have created by our sinful lifestyle. The Blood of Christ was shed on the Cross of Calvary; that is why we have redemption (freedom from slavery and curse) and forgiveness in His Blood.

«..giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light. He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins» (Colossians, 1:12-14).

«Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”), that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith» (Galatians, 3: 13-14).

Nevertheless it is necessary for every person to demonstrate his faith in Jesus Christ through personal acceptance of the salvation that God offers and to enter the blessing and the inheritance God is calling us to.

«If my people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land» (2 Chronicles, 7:14).

When we live in humility before God, when we admit our wrongdoings and repent before God, when we pray and seek His face, then there will be triumph instead of tragedy and God’s mercy instead of judgement. We will talk about it in more detail later on.

So we see that our sins and the sins of others are the main reasons of tragedies that take place in our society and that repentance and living in accordance with God’s Word brings healing, blessing and prosperity.

I wish you abundant God’s blessings!

    1. Fear of rejection. Many people are afraid of others rejecting or despising them when they find out all the truth. Biblical accountability is fulfilment of the law of Christ which tells us to express our care for the others in the spirit of humility: «Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, considering yourself lest you also be tempted. Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ» (Galatians, 6:1-2).

  • Which group of people do you belong to today – the disciples or the multitude? II

The way that Jesus will lead us on won’t always be smooth and easy. The Bible tells us that Jesus Himself endured the hostility, the cross and the shame. It means that Jesus will also lead us through the valleys of death and tears; this way is not pleasant and desired, but it is good for us, because God only knows what we need. The disciples followed Jesus not only when He spoke pleasantries, but also when He rebuked or corrected them. They followed Him even when they did not understand the true meaning of His words. The simply trusted His wisdom.

  • We are the new creation in Christ Jesus, made for good deeds the Lord has determined for us II

«For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, that no one would boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared before that we would walk in them.»(Ephesians 2:8-10).Here we can see that person is not made righteous by his deeds. God never declares somebody righteous by his many good works. Vice verse, God makes righteous those who accept His gift by faith, namely Christ Jesus. A person becomes good in God´s eyes by faith when he believes in good works God has done in Christ.

  • We must prepare the way so that the Lord could come in glory and fullness!

God has a way. He does not force Himself on people; He is the God of order. Until there will be a way prepared for God, He won’t come. Many of us would like for God to come, but He does not come without proper preparation. God goes where people are ready for His visitation. And when God comes, then all barriers are cast aside, the desert starts blooming, the mountains and hills are brought down, the valleys will be filled, the crooked places are made straight and the rough places are made smooth. God can show us the great picture of what He wants to do among us and through us as His people or the Church. But it will take a serious preparation and it will require of us to be very responsible.

God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth» (John, 4:23-24).

  • What are you doing with your promotion? III

Whosoever desires to be promoted by God needs to remain humble and simple. I have noticed that many of us cannot sing and dance before the Lord because we have become very important. Remember how freely you worshipped the Lord when you first got saved! It is rather difficult to fellowship with some believers nowadays, because they have become so ‘adult’, serious, important… David, the shepherd, and King David – both praised and loved God in the same way; the change of position in life did not affect the condition of his heart. We have to cleanse our hearts from haughtiness and pride.
