We are the salt of the earth and light of the world

Grace and peace to you from our Lord Jesus Christ! Welcome to „Daily Word for Spiritual Edification”!We continue talking about our role and function as God’s ambassadors on the earth. We’ve talked about the Bible calling us Christ’s ambassadors; God has sent us to encourage people to be reconciled with God. The Bible also calls us the salt of the earth and the light to the world. But if we as Christ’s ambassadors on earth do not actively practise our faith, then our society will deteriorate. Today, if we look at successful and prosperous countries, we can see the reason of their success and prosperity is because the people there embrace and practice Christian values. Only righteousness exalts a nation – Thai is a law, – God’s law. Only righteousness makes a nation prosperous! Injustice and sin destroy a nation.The bible says: 
 «Salt is good, but if the salt loses its flavour, how will you season it? Have salt in yourselves, and have peace with one another» (Mark, 9:50).
 As we see in this verse, salt is a good thing, and Christina faith is profitable and necessary for every society. The society that has Christians living in it is a place blessed by God. But the society will only be blessed when the believers will confidently function as Christ’s messengers, as the salt of the earth and the light to the world. As believers we must be blessing to the people around us. We must fill the air around us with the light of the truth. We must reveal to the world our Lord Jesus Christ as being the Author of life. The nature of God that we bear in ourselves is what makes us the salt in our society. But if we do not accept God’s nature and lead a selfish lifestyle, if we do not reflect God’s light and live like the world, then we become useless and lose our ability to change society. The Gospel of Mathew recites particular character traits that we need to develop in ourselves in order to truly become the salt that does not lose its strength and to be a blessing for the earth. When believers will begin to ‘salt’ the society with God’s truth and the values of God’s Kingdom, then God will change our society – through His children. We will talk more on this tomorrow.     Moses received messages from God because he spent time with Him.If you want to be effective servant of God, whatever the quality of your ministry would be, you must learn to receive the messages from God.God knows the needs of people whom you serve. He will always give you fresh manna that the people whom you serve would be fed and encouraged every day. If you want to be a successful Christian, allow God to give you a fresh word from heaven every day. Then you will always be fresh and fruitful.

    Every person has a goal, whether he talks about it or not. He is driven to do something. But if we talk about goals, it is important to determinewhether it is WORTHY or UNWORTHY. Paul had a worthy goal and talked about it all the time:«…according to my earnest expectation and hope that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ will be magnified in my body, whether by life or by death. For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain. But if I live on in the flesh, this will mean fruit from my labor; yet what I shall choose I cannot tell. For I am hard-pressed between the two, having a desire to depart and be with Christ, which is far better. Nevertheless to remain in the flesh is more needful for you.

    If you can remember, yesterday we talked about the fact that what defiles a person is not what is done to him, but his personal reaction to that. In the following Scripture we saw that neither the man nor the woman were willing to take personal responsibility for their actions.„The man said, “The woman you put here with me–she gave me some fruit from the tree, and I ate it.» Then the LORD God said to the woman, “What is this you have done?” The woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.” (GEN 3:12-13)

    If you arm yourself with the knowledge that problems and trials are a test to all of us, and once it´s passed we receive a certain reward from God, then a holy desire to win given by God will be awaken within you. None of you is born willing to be a loser in this life. We all desire to win, but no win where is no battle. For the problems and trials are those battles we either get defeated or celebrate the victory at. Going through hardships and pain in our life, we better understand the price, Jesus paid for our salvation. «…you are partakers of Christ’s sufferings…».
