We are the salt of the earth and light of the world

Grace and peace to you from our Lord Jesus Christ! Welcome to „Daily Word for Spiritual Edification”!We continue talking about our role and function as God’s ambassadors on the earth. We’ve talked about the Bible calling us Christ’s ambassadors; God has sent us to encourage people to be reconciled with God. The Bible also calls us the salt of the earth and the light to the world. But if we as Christ’s ambassadors on earth do not actively practise our faith, then our society will deteriorate. Today, if we look at successful and prosperous countries, we can see the reason of their success and prosperity is because the people there embrace and practice Christian values. Only righteousness exalts a nation – Thai is a law, – God’s law. Only righteousness makes a nation prosperous! Injustice and sin destroy a nation.The bible says: 
 «Salt is good, but if the salt loses its flavour, how will you season it? Have salt in yourselves, and have peace with one another» (Mark, 9:50).
 As we see in this verse, salt is a good thing, and Christina faith is profitable and necessary for every society. The society that has Christians living in it is a place blessed by God. But the society will only be blessed when the believers will confidently function as Christ’s messengers, as the salt of the earth and the light to the world. As believers we must be blessing to the people around us. We must fill the air around us with the light of the truth. We must reveal to the world our Lord Jesus Christ as being the Author of life. The nature of God that we bear in ourselves is what makes us the salt in our society. But if we do not accept God’s nature and lead a selfish lifestyle, if we do not reflect God’s light and live like the world, then we become useless and lose our ability to change society. The Gospel of Mathew recites particular character traits that we need to develop in ourselves in order to truly become the salt that does not lose its strength and to be a blessing for the earth. When believers will begin to ‘salt’ the society with God’s truth and the values of God’s Kingdom, then God will change our society – through His children. We will talk more on this tomorrow.     David talks about the obvious advantages that are available to a person after he has confessed his sins.1. Supernatural freedom from guilt and condemnation.« I acknowledged my sin to You, and my iniquity I have not hidden. I said, „I will confess my transgression to the Lord,” and You forgave the iniquity of my sin» (Psalm 32:5). Right after we confess our sins God takes away from us the burden of guilt. When our own hearts condemn us, when we experience the guilt caused by our sins, it is extremely hard to boldly go before Godi n prayer. Feelings of guilt destroy our confidence. So, in order for us to get rid of the guilt we need to repent of our sins.

    Compassion, in turn, brings healing and restoring power of God into my life and through my life into the lives of others around me. Through the virtue of the compassion, I become a tool in God hands – a tool used for restoration and a channel of God’s healing anointing.God’s anointing flows and works through compassion. Do you want God to anoint you in a special way? Do you want the God’s power to flow through you mightily? I guess you do, don’t you? God desires that for you! He wants you to be an instrument of His grace, through whom His anointing and power can consistently flow. In order to succeed in this we need to develop a heart of compassion towards the people who in need around us. The more compassion we have within us, the more anointing and God’s power will flow through us.

  • We need to constantly renew in the spirit of your mind, and put on the new man, who in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of truth

    If we never stop following Jesus, He will change us making those changes more and more obvious in our lives and for the people around us.The fact that we have become believers yet doesn´t mean we have become perfect. That´s why we should not represent ourselves as such in front of other people. Surely we are not perfect. We are still undergoing improvement process. We are still under process of changes as we follow Jesus and submit ourselves to His Spirit. God changes us as we renew our mind and put aside our old man, as we deny ourselves and carry the cross. All these things have an impact on us helping us to behold the glory of the Lord.

    Calling upon God – means to have habitual prayer life. Prayer helps us to draw near to God and releases His provision, because He is close to all who call upon Him. We also talked about the fact that our provision depends not only on our ability to call upon God, but also on how much we fear God. To fear God means to avoid evil, to do good, to seek peace and to follow it. God’s provision and blessing is the reward of those who fear Him. We also pointed out that God has secrets that are meant for dedicated people who call upon His Name and walk in the fear of the Lord. Besides all of the above, it is important to know that dedication to God is impossible without the love for Him.

    Prayer is spiritual effort.Prayer has nothing to do with our intellectual abilities. It has everything to do with our spirit, so it is spiritual labour. Prayer is the spirit of man appealing to God Who also is Spirit. God is Spirit and a man is spirit, so effective prayer is communication and fellowship of human spirit with the Spirit of God. Prayer is spiritual aspiration for God. Of course, our mind has its part in prayer, but if prayer only stays in the realm of mind, but the spirit does not connect with God, then it is not prayer at all. Every time I have touched God in prayer, my spirit knows it has connected with God and I know I have communicated with God.
