The importance of turning at the reproof of the Lord.

Good day, friends!
I thank God for another opportunity to share with you a word of wisdom from God.

Today I would like us to reflect on how important it is to respond correctly when God exposes our sins.

The Bible tells us that God corrects us because He loves us and desires our well-being. He will not leave us to wander in our wrong ways. God will show us our sins, correct us, rebuke us, and discipline those whom He loves, just as any father disciplines his children.

“My son, do not despise the chastening of the Lord, nor detest His correction; for whom the Lord loves He corrects, just as a father the son in whom he delights.” (Proverbs 3:11–12)

Nevertheless, we know that people respond differently to the discipline of Almighty God and to the exposure of sin. God’s Word to you today is this: relate to God’s correction in such a way that you may enjoy the guidance of His Spirit and the illumination of His Word.

“Turn at my rebuke; surely I will pour out my spirit on you; I will make my words known to you. Because I have called and you refused, I have stretched out my hand and no one regarded, because you disdained all my counsel, and would have none of my rebuke, I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your terror comes, when your terror comes like a storm, and your destruction comes like a whirlwind, when distress and anguish come upon you. Then they will call on me, but I will not answer; they will seek me diligently, but they will not find me, because they hated knowledge and did not choose the fear of the Lord. They would have none of my counsel and despised my every rebuke. Therefore they shall eat the fruit of their own way, and be filled to the full with their own fancies.” (Proverbs 1:23–31)

A correct response to God’s correction is a sure sign that we love and honor God. It is also the key to a successful life and ministry.

Prosperity, health, safety, and protection will not be available to those who ignore God’s correction.

Please pay attention to the following benefits that come from a right attitude toward God’s correction:

  • Being filled with the Holy Spirit
  • Revelation and understanding of God’s Word
  • Answered prayers
  • A lasting presence of God that dispels all fear

Can you say that you pay serious attention to the areas in which God corrects you in your life? As you carefully examine your life, do you find areas where you are still ignoring what God is showing you?

Make an effort today to find time to reflect on the benefits of a right attitude toward God’s correction, as written in Proverbs 1:23–31, and allow this to motivate you to examine how you respond when God shows you your sins and corrects you.

Remember: if you ignore God’s Word, God will also ignore your prayers.

    As a base we will use a passage from Mark chapter 4, where Jesus Himself was speaking in parables. In this chapter there are three parables, through which Jesus explains the power and the potential hidden in a small seed. This parable shows that there is a whole list of obstacles that make it difficult for seeds to grow and bear fruit. God desires to teach us how to forsake bad habits and to develop good ones.Some people have a habit of wasting time. Fearing God we understand that He is going to judge us for our sins and it impacts our deeds.
