Do You Hear What God Speaks? IV

I am glad to greet you in our column „Daily Word for Spiritual Strength”! I thank the Lord for the chance to share with you the revelations that God gives me. God wants His people to get to know His Word – the truth that sets a person free from any lies and sin. The Bible says that Jesus came to give us life and life in abundance. God’s life is concealed in His Word. In order that we have this life in abundance, it is necessary that we love His Word and learn to listen to His voice and be lead by it.

Let us look at an example in Paul’s life.

“Much time had been lost, and sailing had already become dangerous because by now it was after the Fast. So Paul warned them, “Men, I can see that our voyage is going to be disastrous and bring great loss to ship and cargo, and to our own lives also.” But the centurion, instead of listening to what Paul said, followed the advice of the pilot and of the owner of the ship.” (Acts 27: 9-11).

Through Paul, God said that the journey would be dangerous and difficult, but the centurion trusted more the standpoint and prognosis of experts – pilot and owner of the ship, because the equipment indicated to good weather and not what Paul was saying. As soon they started their journey, a strong wind broke out. The equipment could not warn about the wind. This is like the meteorologists announce some kind of weather, but we see something totally different. Experts can make mistakes!! Therefore we need to train our spirit to hear what only GOD says.

Choose yourself what voice you are going to believe? Jesus says, if you are His sheep you have a chance and abilities to hear God’s voice, especially when not everything in your life happens the way you want. God wants to speak to you and guide you in these situations. The Bible says,

“Be still, and know that I am God, …” (Psalms 46:10).

In order to hear God’s voice, it is necessary that you learn to stop and calm down – calm down your mind, feelings, emotions, and only then you can hear what God says to you. When you learn to hear God’s voice, not only will you have eternal life, but also life in abundance, which is concealed in you. There will be problems, but you will be able to rejoice, because you will be sure that your God has an answer for any question, your God is able to solve any problem. Human mind tries to calculate everything – how are all things going, how everything must happen. Our minds work like fast processors. But the problem is that situations appear in our lives, and we cannot solve them. What happens to our mind-processor then? It falls out. Bible teaches us,

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” (Proverbs 3:5).

At schools and universities, we are taught to trust our own minds only. It is not bad, but God has given us minds with a purpose, but not for us to think our mind is equal with God’s mind. We have been taught to trust our minds so well that it is hard for us to reorder and start trusting and putting our hopes in the Lord. They who have always trusted their minds have difficulties to switch over and trust God. But God says,

“In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.” (Proverbs 3:6).

God promises that He will guide us. But it is important to understand that God guides and leads you not where you want, and sometimes it will not be an easy and comfortable way. God will lead you in His ways, because He does it with a purpose to take you where you need to be! Trust the Lord in this because He knows the ending already at the very beginning.

We will continue this topic tomorrow!

May God guard you today!

Yesterday we discoursed that in one hand we believe in God, trust and rely on Him, while in the other hand God trusts us and relies on us. God needs us the moment when He lacks some of His bear necessities.« Because I have called, and you have refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no one has paid attention; … Then will they call on me, but I will not answer. They will seek me diligently, but they will not find me; Because they hated knowledge, And didn’t choose the fear of Yahweh. » (Proverbs 1:24, 28, 29).

  • God doesn’t want us to give up! III

First of all, God ”will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able”. Maybe you don´t even feel that He is keeping all your situations under control but as a matter of fact, He has already set the limit of your hardships. God will not let things, that are above what you can bear, enter your life. You probably underestimate your own strength, but God knows better. When your reasoning is right you prevail over hardships. God will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, so you can overcome all difficulties in life – that´s the idea you should feed your mind with.

  • God wants you to use everything He has given you for His Kingdom III

«His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord’» (Mathew, 25:23).Some people get tired and need help even before they start to do something significant. But tell me! Is it possible that you need rest or take a break from God? Is it possible that you need rest from serving Him? No! We can serve God everywhere. You can be on a plane and serve people who sit by you. You can serve God on a beach, at work, everywhere; because in all of these places there are people who need God.

  • Why do we need to cultivate gratitude in our lives II

«For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren» (Romans, 8:29).It is God’s desire for us to be conformed into the image of God’s only Son – Jesus Christ. Gratitude is one of the qualities that help us to do that. Later we will see how gratitude was demonstrated in the life of Jesus and how many events in His life were directly connected to thanksgiving.

  • A person dedicated to God is able to have joy despite of the circumstances and to always be grateful to God

A dedicated man has joy even during trials and testings and knows how to go through grief; his greatest joy is when his life goes according to God’s plan.In order to see these principles working in your life, we should look at the life of Jesus Who clearly demonstrated what it means to be dedicated to God and doing of His will.

  • Why do people run away from being accountable?

    1. Fear of rejection. Many people are afraid of others rejecting or despising them when they find out all the truth. Biblical accountability is fulfilment of the law of Christ which tells us to express our care for the others in the spirit of humility: «Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, considering yourself lest you also be tempted. Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ» (Galatians, 6:1-2).
