God wants His children to be a part of the solution for His needs! II

Greetings to you, dear readers of our column «Daily word for spiritual strength»! I believe the Lord inspires you through His word. Share your testimonies generously, let us know how this word strengthens and inspires you. We will be glad to know more about your experience.Yesterday we discoursed that in one hand we believe in God, trust and rely on Him, while in the other hand God trusts us and relies on us. God needs us the moment when He lacks some of His bear necessities.
« Because I have called, and you have refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no one has paid attention; … Then will they call on me, but I will not answer. They will seek me diligently, but they will not find me; Because they hated knowledge, And didn’t choose the fear of Yahweh. » (Proverbs 1:24, 28, 29).
In these verses God tells us about the necessity to change our attitude towards His call, otherwise He would not listen to our calling the time we run to Him with our petitions. Forget about your own problems and take part in finding solutions for the needs and problems God has today, He will become a part of a solution for your problems then.
«When they drew near to Jerusalem, and came to Bethsphage, to the Mount of Olives, then Jesus sent two disciples, saying to them, “Go into the village that is opposite you, and immediately you will find a donkey tied, and a colt with her. Untie them, and bring them to me. If anyone says anything to you, you shall say, ‘The Lord needs them,’ and immediately he will send them.” All this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through the prophet, saying, “Tell the daughter of Zion, Behold, your King comes to you, Humble, and riding on a donkey, On a colt, the foal of a donkey.” The disciples went, and did just as Jesus commanded them, and brought the donkey and the colt, and laid their clothes on them; and he sat on them. A very great multitude spread their clothes on the road. Others cut branches from the trees, and spread them on the road. The multitudes who went before him, and who followed kept shouting, “Hosanna to the son of David! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!” When he had come into Jerusalem, all the city was stirred up, saying, “Who is this?” The multitudes said, “This is the prophet, Jesus, from Nazareth of Galilee.” (Matthew 21:1-11)
Here we can read about God´s need to lead Jesus to Jerusalem as it was prophesied before. The prophets had foreseen how it would happen a long time ago. What is prophesy! Prophesy is how God sees the future. Prophesy represents God´s plans for future – your future, future of your town, future of your country, etc. Though, no prophesy will be fulfilled until the certain circumstances have been provided. That´s why Jesus could not reach Jerusalem unless the donkey He was going to ride had been unleashed. Only after it had happened Jesus entered Jerusalem riding on the back of the donkey. If God says a powerful movement would take place in Latvia that would impact on the whole Europe – it´s true! Human resources are the only thing He is looking for. Those resources are bound and that´s the issue why God can´t fulfil what He is willing to fulfil. Therefore, God desires to unleash the resources bound, so that the prophesy can be fulfilled. It´s me and you who play the role of God´s tools and resources to fulfil His prophesies. We have to be set completely free for His work. Let´s go into weeds tomorrow!God peace be with you! Rufus Adjiboye, pastor

  • Why do we need to cultivate gratitude in our lives II

«For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren» (Romans, 8:29).It is God’s desire for us to be conformed into the image of God’s only Son – Jesus Christ. Gratitude is one of the qualities that help us to do that. Later we will see how gratitude was demonstrated in the life of Jesus and how many events in His life were directly connected to thanksgiving.
  • God gives to everyone according to his or her ability III

God has created us in His image and likeness, and He made us to be His children and He has separated us for Himself. God brought us into His wonderful light, into His Kingdom – through Jesus Christ! God has created us in Christ Jesus for good works, which He has ordained for us to do! This is alone is enough to give us a reason to be greatful to God. None of us deserve all these benefits, but God – because of His great love for us – has done all of these things for us in Jesus Christ. And God gave every one of us gifts and talents, so that we could expand His Kingdom and serve Him with His talents. God promises to bless us abundantly as we work and serve in His Kingdom.
  • God doesn’t want us to give up!

Nowadays many people give up as soon as something does not go like they expected or some problems start to choke them. I will tell you honestly that it is not hard to go through different problems with dignity, – you must learn it. It does not happen automatically; you must prepare yourself for it. If we won’t prepare ourselves ahead of time, then at difficult times we will fail and give up. Lack of discipline and preparation will create instability in our lives and will hinder our progress.
  • Lust brings sin, and sin brings death

«Let no man say when he is tempted, “I am tempted by God,” for God can’t be tempted by evil, and he himself tempts no one. But each one is tempted, when he is drawn away by his own lust, and enticed. Then the lust, when it has conceived, bears sin; and the sin, when it is full grown, brings forth death. Don’t be deceived, my beloved brothers. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom can be no variation, nor turning shadow.» (James 1:13-17).
  • As believers in Christ we should learn to look at ourselves the way God looks at us!

The God´s word says we are pilgrims and aliens, therefore, do your best to see your selves as such. Doing so we will take after people seeking heavenly home, those who desire not to return to the place they have exited, rather longing for something better, namely, heaven. God is not ashamed of those who are filled with hope of salvation. He is gladly calls Himself their God, for He has prepared a city for them – a shelter to stay in safety during the storm, flood or hunger. God has prepared comfort everlasting and obvious victory for their souls.
  • We can only be defiled by the things that come from within!

When we talk about changes, we talk about the condition of one’s heart. What others do to us does not come from us; it is directed towards us to test the condition of our hearts. Our reaction to the actions of others and the outside pressure determine the content of our hearts.«Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life» (Proverbs, 4:23).
