What do we have to do in order to witness spiritual revival filling our cities?

 Good day dear friends! Welcome to the column “Daily word for spiritual strength”. I am glad to share the word of God with you. Jesus didn´t come into this world to die on the cross so that people become religious and indifferent to God. Contrariwise, Jesus came to fill the Earth with His glory just like rivers fill the seas. Jesus set an example of what we have to do. Wherever Jesus showed up He stirred the place! Everywhere He showed up people responded to His visit both positively and negatively. Some of them said: “Watch the Messiah, He is the answer, He is the son of God!” while the others stated: “He is obsessed by demons, He is a sinner, blasphemer, He is dangerous, so He must die”.Though, nobody was indifferent towards Jesus. People always discussed Him. The same way us, once we let Jesus work through our life, the place around us will be stirred, so nobody will stay indifferent. It will become difficult then, to ignore us, to avoid talking about us and the God we represent. People will definitely discuss our deeds. But what is even more important, God will be able to use us to carry out His plans. Today there are people in our town who say our church comes from God and that we are doing a good job. Meanwhile, the other category of people are sure we are a dangerous sect. That´s normal. Once the town becomes stirred by the living God, people will talk about us even more.Jesus needed a donkey to enter Jerusalem according the prophesy, but there was a problem with the donkey, it was tied up. Jesus sent two of His disciples to solve that problem saying:
«Go into the village that is opposite you, and immediately you will find a donkey tied, and a colt with her. Untie them, and bring them to me». (Matthew 21:2).
Can you see how Jesus stirred the city? He sent His disciples there. Today God has physical body no more, today His church represents His body. We are His hands, His feet, His mouth and His heart. If we refuse to collaborate with God, He will not be able to act or fulfil His will in our cities and our countries. So how can we collaborate with Him, so that the Holy Spirit can come?     Laying hold of eternal life means that a person strives to stay on the narrow road which leads to eternal life. Jesus knew that it would be so convenient for many to walk the broad road; being on this road, a person feels comfortable and lives without any restrictions; he does what he wants to do and is not limited by any commitments. But the Bible says that it is the way of sin, because a person is not accountable and moves ‘without brakes’, so to speak; this way leads to destruction. God says that we shouldn’t walk on this way.     1. Fear of rejection. Many people are afraid of others rejecting or despising them when they find out all the truth. Biblical accountability is fulfilment of the law of Christ which tells us to express our care for the others in the spirit of humility: «Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, considering yourself lest you also be tempted. Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ» (Galatians, 6:1-2).

  • Life is a trust

    You should understand there is nothing that belongs to you. Your life itself is not yours, it’s a trust God has shown to you. Understanding this truth changes the way you respond to what is going on around you.You do not live for yourself; you did not appear on this Earth by your own act of will or for your own personal purpose. God has given life to you as a sign of His trust for you. You are entrusted with life from God and the day will come when you will have to give account to God for the life He given to you, – for all your deeds and words while living in your body.

    «Arise, cry out in the night, at the beginning of the watches; pour out your heart like water before the face of the Lord. Lift your hands toward Him for the life of your young children, who faint from hunger at the head of every street» (Lamentations, 2:19).This is not a routine call to ordinary prayer, but a call to cry out to God to send a revival and deliver our children and the next generation from inevitable disasters and tragedies. Every serious revival has started with people’s heartfelt cry directed to God.

    Heaven is the place from which Jesus rules and reigns over everything. What God says about us in His Word is the truth which we must believe. Now we have God’s nature in us and it must be continually fed and nurtured. We must believe that now we have heavenly authority and power that was given to us in order to destroy the works of devil on earth. That is what Jesus did when He walked on the planet earth: He destroyed and undo the works and intentions of the devil. He set an example for us to follow in His foot steps:«For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil» (1 John, 3:8b).
