God’s purpose for the earth and the role of people in it

Welcome to „Daily Word for Spiritual Edification”! Today I would like to start talking about God’s purpose for the earth and the role of people in it. It says in the Bible that God rules and reigns over everything — in heaven and in earth. When we read Genesis, we see that God created men and also we read about God’s intentions for men. God created us to rule and reign on earth as God’s ambassadors. So God’s original plan was for people to be a ruler and care-taker for God. We can read about that in Genesis (1:26-28)
« Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth ”».
These verses tell us that before defining man’s role and function on earth, God created the man in His image and according to His likeness. This likeness gave people the ability to fulfill their function on earth and effectively carry out their mission from God. The verses above allow us to make the following conclusion: In order for us to function effectively in the area appointed to us by God and to have legal basis for authority to rule on the earth for God, it is necessary for us to have the nature of God developed in us. The one that does not have God’s image and nature cannot rule on earth. Life on earth is only maintained and ruled by the character and nature of the Author of life – the Almighty God. When we neglect this important fact and take it out of the whole picture, death and destruction take the place of life and creation. Any form of authority that is void of the nature of God Who is the King of kings is lifeless. Such government only leads to destruction and death. Based on all of this, we can conclude that character is the fundamental issue of life in the Kingdom of God. Character is fundamental to our spiritual authority. It is the foundation for dominion and ruling along with God on earth. Our ability to bring forth life is rooted in our nature and not in our gifts or anointing. So God first created the man in His image and according to His likeness and only after that did He told the man to rule and govern the earth. Only after the man received God’s nature, he received from Him the authority and ability to rule and govern the earth for God. Tomorrow we will continue on this topic! God bless you! Pastor Rufus Ajiboye

  • We need forgiveness as much as we need to forgive the people that have sinned against us

It is important to see that forgiveness towards our debtors is a prerequisite for us to continue receiving forgiveness from God. The way we treat other people that are how God treats us. God uses the same measure we measure with.
  • What are you doing with your promotion? II

If you want God to exalt you, you need to love God and love people. God exalts the loving hearts. Love God and love your neighbour – these are two main commandments. All of your knowledge won’t bring any results, if you forget these two most important commandments. You probably have noticed that God does not answer all prayers. There are some prayers that God does not pay attention to; it happens when we break two most important commandments – to love God and to love your neighbour. Love towards God and people around you are the very power that must rule us and lead us through life. Love towards God and people that is demonstrated in deeds and not in words brings us to the place where promotion from God is possible.
  • Changes through Ministry III

Ministry helps us to live for others not just for ourselves. When a person has a servant or serving heart, his life is focused on making other people happy instead of waiting on the other people to make him happy. Somebody with such an attitude and life position has no time for depression or for self-pity. His life is rather focused on searching for and helping other people who lives in poorer conditions himself instead of sitting around celebrating self- pity party. The person who understands the purpose of true ministry doesn’t live for himself, but his goal is to love God and to love other people.
  • Do you know that you are not all you could be yet?

“And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers. 19And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. 20And they straightway left their nets, and followed him”In the above passage, Jesus saw two brothers trying to catch fish by the sea side and immediately recognized that they have a better destiny, so He instructed them to follow Him. This word of God to you today is this: Follow me and I will make you.Do you know that you are not all you could be yet? Only the Lord knows who you are created to be and He wants to make you become who you are really created to be. That is why He said “I will make you”.
  • Faith is obedience to the Lord! II

«Without faith it is impossible to be well pleasing to him, for he who comes to God must believe that he exists, and that he is a rewarder of those who seek him.» (Hebrew 11:6). As we mentioned earlier, faith means acting in accordance to the word of God. Quite often God calls us to do impossible things, those only God Himself can accomplish. God is not inviting us to demonstrate our own capabilities, but what He is able to do through us. That´s why God often gives us the tasks we cannot accomplish without Him.
