The Word of God – the source of divine information and truth

May peace and grace from our Lord Jesus Christ be multiplied in your life this day! I pray for the Word of God to penetrate your spirit and to be established in your spirit, soul and body. Yesterday we looked at several examples from the Bible where physical healing came after the person repented of his sins. We discussed that illness, pain and suffering can be the result of sin.
«Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing psalms. Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven» (James, 5:13-15).
We see that without forgiveness of sins and prayer of faith there can’t be any relief for the one who has sinned. Sin as a source of misery can also hinder your prayer of faith. And if illness or suffering is linked to sin, then the only way to be delivered is to repent of the sins and to receive God’s forgiveness. Let’s look at another Scripture passage.
«He turns rivers into a wilderness, and the watersprings into dry ground; a fruitful land into barrenness, for the wickedness of those who dwell in it» (Psalm, 107:33-34).
Based on the Scripture above, it is obvious that blessing can turn into curse because of wickedness in the life of people who dwell in the land. Lawlessness and wickedness are sins that turn blessing into curse in a person’s life. One’s sins can change God’s blessings into curses. Sin changes rivers into wilderness and Eden into suffering from hell.So sufferings can be the result of personal sins, as well as deliberate or unconscious trespassing of God’s laws. Sufferings and pain can be the result of ignorance.Ignorance is a person’s choice; he or she does not want to make an effort to obtain the necessary knowledge and ease his life through it. God’s Word says:
“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge” (Hosea, 4: 6).
The lack of vision, knowledge or useful information can become the source of destruction and tragedy. There is a saying that not knowing the law does not relief from the responsibility; not knowing God’s laws or moral blindness multiplies human sufferings on earth.Every person must gain knowledge and understanding of God’s provision; we must know what God has done for us in Christ so that we can lessen human suffering. The lack of such knowledge can cause great pain. It is like a person starving because he does not know about state aid. The lack of knowledge of one’s rights and privileges can cause unnecessary problems.I once heard a story about a man who bought a ticket for a long journey on a ship. When he ate all of his dried bread that he took with him, he was starving during the rest of his trip; he had spent all of his money to get the ticket. The problem was that he simply did not know that when he purchased his ticket he also bought 3 meals a day for the whole trip. Not knowing caused him to suffer. It happens to so many people around us. They suffer simply because they do know make an effort to find out about the privileges that God has given them.We must be informed to be reformed. God’s Word is the source of divine information and the truth that enlightens people and shines the light of revelation necessary for victorious living. You should love God’s Word; you should love knowledge and when you do it brings blessing into your life!God bless you abundantly!Till tomorrow!Pastor Rufus Ajiboye

  • The law of harvest and multiplication

As a base we will use a passage from Mark chapter 4, where Jesus Himself was speaking in parables. In this chapter there are three parables, through which Jesus explains the power and the potential hidden in a small seed. First I would like to simply recount these parables, but later we will look at each of them in more detail. The first parable that Jesus talked about is the parable of the sower. This parable shows that there is a whole list of obstacles that make it difficult for seeds to grow and bear fruit. In this parable, Jesus went ahead to show us three types of obstacles which can impede the growth of the seeds that we sow. (Mark 4:3-20)
  • How some people sins caused pain and suffering in other people

«“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbour, and hate your enemy.’ But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you, that you may be children of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the just and the unjust.». (Matthew 5:43-45).If only all people lived according to the commandments of love there would be much less pain and tragedies on Earth. There would be much less tears on Earth if people took care for each other instead of seeking their own benefits.
  • God is looking for fruits in your life!

«Lord, I desire to bear more fruits in my life. I am asking You to cleanse me, so that I become capable of bearing more fruits. I accept God’s grace to stay on the vine tree. I shall bear much fruits for God in Jesus Name!»The Bible says we should grow until we reach perfection in Christ (see Ephesians, Chapter 4). Therefore, it doesn’t matter how anointed and fruitful you are now, there is a higher level prepared for you by God – the higher level of effectiveness and fertility.
  • Qualities that make us the salt of the earth and light of the world

    1) Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven (Mathew, 5:3). This talks about dependency on God. Our lives depend on God. And since we realize our dependency, we must continually come to God and spend time with Him. This is a foundational step in becoming the salt of the earth and the light of the world; we must live a life that is totally depended on God!2) Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted (Mathew, 5:4). Sin, unrighteousness and injustice that surround us must motivate us to pray and mourn before God, to stand in the gap for our land. It must motivate us to repent of the sins and unrighteousness of our nation. When we look at the things around us with God’s eyes, then everything that grieves God will grieve us as well. This is where passion is born and a vision for change is conceived.
  • Our highest calling – to reveal God in our flesh

The Bible says: «For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him» (John, 1:17-18).The law can never save people because the law only reveals the sinful nature of man. The law was given in order for people to realize their need for God and His help. It was Jesus who brought to us the truth and the grace that conveys spiritual power necessary to live in accordance with God’s will. Anyone who will accept this truth and grace will have the power to live a holy life and become an instrument in God’s hand that is able to manifest or declare God’s truth and grace to other people.
  • Our willingness to be accountable to others and what you do or not do is the determining factor of our character

«I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me» (Philippians, 4:13).It means that I must completely rely on Christ and His Word and draw spiritual strength through personal fellowship with Him. Besides, it means that I receive God’s power and support through other members of the Body of Christ. I am united with Christ directly and also through my relationships with other members of His Body.
