How can we earn promotion?

Greetings to you, dear readers, on the pages of “Daily Word for Spiritual Edification”! I thank God for every one of you and for God’s mercy that is being poured out on us. Today we have a great privilege: we can freely speak and study the Word of God, drawing from God’s wisdom. It is the time of God’s favour. He desires His children to be filled with His truth because only the truth can make a person free and strong. Today I would like to start discussing how we can obtain promotion from God.

Every one of us desires to see God in our lives – a strong and mighty God. It is important for us how God sees us and what He sees in our hearts. I was born to meet needs of other people.

God is always good! He does not change. Your problems or illnesses cannot alter the mercy of God toward you. God is always good, and that is the God that we serve. Do not let the devil deceive you. Know that God is always good! He wants to promote us, but He is looking for a particular individual. He is searching for a person who deserves to be promoted.

«For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him» (2 Chronicles, 16:9).

God does not support and promote just anybody, because He cannot deviate from His own principles. Jesus did everything for us – He paid the price for our salvation. There is no need to earn salvation. Salvation is not our merit; it was paid by Jesus’ death on the Cross of Golgotha. But after receiving salvation, we need to perfect this salvation through obedience and walking in light.

«Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your salvation with fear and trembling» (Philippians, 2:12).

Apostle Paul tells us to work out the very same salvation, for which Jesus paid the full price. How can we earn promotion? Through obedience to God.

All of us seek promotion. All of our prayers can be replaced with one word – promotion. If we do not have money, we ask God to bless us; if we are ill, we ask Him to heal us; if we do not have jobs, we ask God to open doors of new opportunities; if we have jobs, we ask God to bless us even more and to give us promotion. So, again and again we ask God to exalt and advance us.

It is both good and right for us to pray about these things, but miracles do not come from praying alone; we need to be obedient to God. I do not diminish the role of prayer. I just want to point out that to be promoted by God we need to be obedient and walk in the light of His Word.

We will continue with this tomorrow.

Be blessed!

  • The blessedness or beauty of serving others! III

Ministry and giving determines the measure of one’s spiritual growth and maturity. It also determines how much I bear a resemblance to Jesus Christ. God wants us to grow spiritually. One of the indications of one’s spiritual growth is how he or she fulfils the needs of others. Such a person not only takes and receives, but also gives. Giving and ministry is one and the same word that determines how much of resemblance to Jesus Christ I bear.It says in the Bible that Jesus came to this earth to serve and not to be served. He is the example of a minister. Many of us want others to serve us. God says that we should minister and serve others. He wants us to be like Jesus.

«And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God» (Romans, 12:2).When I read the Word, meditate on it and apply it to my life, I initiate changes in my life and actions, since my thoughts and views grow alike with God’s thoughts and His will. God says that His thoughts and His ways are not like ours.

  • How do we make sure that the Word of God abides in us?

Why are there so much fear, panic, disappointment, weariness and tiredness in the lives of many believers? It is because the Word of God does not abide in them. God wants us to be filled with the Word. When we read the word of God with the understanding that we need the word daily as our source of light and direction, then we are motivated to do read it even more. Since I want to be spiritually strong and able to overcome the wicked one, I want to have the understanding of God’s purpose for my life, I want His direction as to how to carry out my assignment and I want to walk in purity in my life – and for this very reason I read God’s Word and study it on a regular basis.

  • Praying is pouring out your heart before God

When I pray I pour out my soul before God. I will not dwell on it for long, because we mostly know how to do it. We know how to open our hearts. As soon as we find a listening ear and as soon as we find a person we can trust, we open our hearts. We know that God is always ready to hear us out. Besides, God is totally trustworthy. It means that you can boldly come before God with everything that concerns us. That is what we call prayer. And that is why Paul says that we shouldn’t think and worry too much, but always reveal our desires before God in prayer and then His peace will fill our hearts.

  • How to effectively study the Bible II

Sometimes one word in the Bible can be followed as a thread throughout all of the pages of the Book.I once sat down to write a letter to a brother. I prayed and asked God to help me write not just words, but to make it a blessing for this person. As I was writing, I noticed that I had started preaching in the letter. Later I put it aside, because one word had totally consumed my attention. I began to study this word in the Bible. I began studying the phrases like “God is able” and „God can”. I started reading all the verses that contained these phrases. It was so interesting that I totally forgot about the letter. The study of particular Bible words can be very interesting and profitable.

  • If you will not initiate changes, they will never happen in your life

It is time to know that changes are initiated rather than expected. Changes do not happen by chance, they happen because someone initiated them. When it was dark and void all around, God initiated change by introducing light. He said “Let there be light”.“In the beginning, when God created the universe, the earth was formless and desolate. The raging ocean that covered everything was engulfed in total darkness, and the Spirit of God was moving over the water. Then God commanded, “Let there be light”—and light appeared” (Gen.1: 1-3)
