How to set grace free in our lives? II

I am glad to welcome you to our Daily Word for Spiritual Strength section! I believe that God has a word of encouragement for you today! We began to talk about how to set free the power of favour in our lives. Yesterday we found out that our awareness of the laws of life brings the favour on display in our lives. We also said that one of the main laws governing the operation of favour in our lives, is the law of sowing and reaping.Today, I want us to return to the discussion of this law.The law of sowing and reaping governs how favour works. It is necessary to look at favour as a seed that must be sown. Jesus said that,
“Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.” (Matthew 5:7).
In other words, Jesus is saying, “Blessed are those who have sown favour or mercy, because they will reap favour or mercy.”Generally, the level of favour operating in your life depends on the amount of the seed of favour you sow into other people’s lives. This means that I cannot expect the harvest of favour in my life until I have sown mercy into other people’s lives. It is important to understand that favour does not just jump on people and does not come automatically or by accident. Note as well that favour is not the function of prayers and fasting alone. Basically, the power of favour is subjected to the law of sowing and reaping. If you are graceful towards the Kingdom of God and other people, then you can confidently expect favour to come and fill your life. You will reap only from the seeds of favour that you are sowing. Therefore the Bible says,
“Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.” (Galatians 6:7).
If you are cheating people and are not faithful in your lifestyle, then you are choosing the hard way for yourself. You cannot manage to avoid the consequences of the law of sowing and reaping. You will receive with gain all that you have been sowing into other people’s lives. Please understand that favour is a seed that will yield a harvest in our lives after we have sown it. You have the abilities and opportunities to sow favour; therefore do not wait for favour, but start right now to provoke or initiate favour by sowing the seed of kindness into the lives of those surrounding you!May God bless you!Pastor Rufus Ajiboy

  • Purpose for living V

After Solomon forsook God for a season, he tried to find happiness and satisfaction in different things and activities. We see that Solomon made several attempts which all lead to disappointment. For a wise person Solomon’s experience can become good lesson in what the wrong ways to happiness are. We mentioned that Solomon sought happiness in education and knowledge, in fun and pleasures, in beauty, in works of men’s hands. Afterwards he came to a conclusion that despite the fact that all these things are important and necessary for living, none of them can make us happy, if God is excluded from our life. Solomon said that everything under the sun is vanity and grasping for the wind. Solomon’s conclusion was that everything that happens under the sun is vanity and grasping for the wind – if apart from God.
  • In order for the light of God in our lives to shine brighter and brighter we have to consistently cleanse our lamp

The bible said we are the light of the world, so each of us is a light bearer. And as you know, light is intended to enlighten and drive away any form of darkness. We have to realize though, that we do not have light on our own. The light we radiate is the reflection of the light we have received from God. If we have a distorted perception of God, and His ways, then the light we radiate will also be distorted. Quite often so many Christian radiate distorted light because their lamp is not clean.
  • Organization of effective prayer life II

Prayer is spiritual effort.Prayer has nothing to do with our intellectual abilities. It has everything to do with our spirit, so it is spiritual labour. Prayer is the spirit of man appealing to God Who also is Spirit. God is Spirit and a man is spirit, so effective prayer is communication and fellowship of human spirit with the Spirit of God. Prayer is spiritual aspiration for God. Of course, our mind has its part in prayer, but if prayer only stays in the realm of mind, but the spirit does not connect with God, then it is not prayer at all. Every time I have touched God in prayer, my spirit knows it has connected with God and I know I have communicated with God.
  • All true ministry begins in the presence of God II

Today I want to continue our talk on starting ministry in the presence of God. Yesterday we saw the example of Lord Jesus Christ Himself, but today we are going to see the example of prophet Isaiah. The classic example of prophet Isaiah is another strong illustration that shows us how effective ministry must begin in the presence of God
  • In order for us to do the works of Jesus, we must ask for it in prayer!

«Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son» (John, 14:12-13).When Jesus Himself says ‘most assuredly’, it means He wants us to pay attention. These two verses are connected. Jesus says that we can do the works that Jesus did and even more, if we pray. Jesus tried to tell His disciples that He has been given all authority in heaven and on earth and that He will represent them in heaven, because He will be sitting with Him on the heavenly throne. Jesus told His disciples that they should ask in His name and that He would do what they ask so that His Father would be glorified.
