Ignorance of spiritual laws – is one of many things that cause suffering in this world nowadays

Good day dear friends, welcome to our column “Daily word for spiritual strength!” Let the mercy of God be with you today. God sent His revelation into my heart and I thank for the opportunity to share it with you.For a few days we´ve been talking about negative consequences caused by ignorance. We also mentioned our everyone´s personal responsibility for filling our mind with the word of God and other useful information. Zealous Jews rejected the gift of righteousness offered by Him in Jesus Christ for free, because they lacked knowledge, while having zeal for God. As we stated earlier, jealousy is a good thing but without knowledge it causes worries and deficiencies.
«Brothers, my heart’s desire and my prayer to God is for Israel, that they may be saved. For I testify about them that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. For being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, they didn’t subject themselves to the righteousness of God. For Christ is the fulfilment of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.» (Romans 10:1-4).
Today may people are saying they love God and believe in Him, while staying ignorant to His righteousness and living according to their own righteousness. Therefore, they blame God for being unjust to them when facing problems and distress in their life.Ignorance of spiritual laws – is one of many things that cause suffering in this world nowadays. So we can see that:
  • Ignorance – is lack of knowledge, guidance and enlightenment.
  • Ignorance – is everyone´s personal choice.
  • Ignorance – is something that separates people from life and God´s care.
  • Ignorance – is followed by lust, that in turn is followed by sin, then death.
  • Ignorance – is the thing that leads to annihilation and tragedies.
As we mentioned earlier, in addition to your own sins also the sins of other people increase pain and sufferings on Earth. It hurts when you suffer due to your own sin, but it hurts even more when your sufferings are caused by someone else´s disobedience to the law. For example, many innocent people perish due to lack of responsibility of other people (e.g. drunk drivers, careless operator, etc.).When Jesus disciples met a man blind from birth they didn´t hesitate to ask Jesus who actually sinned, the blind man or his parents.
«As he passed by, he saw a man blind from birth. His disciples asked him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?” Jesus answered, “Neither did this man sin, nor his parents; but, that the works of God might be revealed in him.» (John 9:1-3).
Inborn blindness is not a blessing, it can´t come from the loving God who laid His life for us so that we can have life abundantly. Knowing this the disciples couldn´t get the point right. They finally concluded that man was blind either because of his own sins or his parents broke the law in some way.The disciples were certain that root of any kind of suffering comes from person´s sins or from the sins of other people, e.g. his parents. Nowadays, many children suffer from their parents´ sins. Many children have inherited diseases due to the way their parents live. People suffer not only due to their own sins but also because of the sins of other people.Though, Jesus used that opportunity to open the eyes of His disciples and explain that outside of sins there are another reasons why people suffer. We are going to talk about it tomorrow!Be abundantly blessed in the Lord!Rufus Adjiboje, pastor

  • Searching for the meaning of life II

Let’s look at the steps that Solomon took in order to find the meaning of life. We will see what conclusions Solomon came to. The first thing Solomon turned to was acquiring of wisdom and knowledge. «I communed with my heart, saying, „Look, I have attained greatness, and have gained more wisdom than all who were before me in Jerusalem. My heart has understood great wisdom and knowledge.” And I set my heart to know wisdom and to know madness and folly. I perceived that this also is grasping for the wind. For in much wisdom is much grief, and he who increases knowledge increases sorrow» (Ecclesiastes, 1:16-18).
  • Do not focus of what you do not have; simply go ahead and use what you have! II

God gives to us gifts according to our ability, so He does not call us to do the thigs we are not able to. If God has asked you to do something, it is only because He knows you are able to do it. He won’t give you more than you are able to bear. Simply use what you have.I once read a story about a woman who built a school for the needy. Before she began this, a desire was born in her heart to do it. It became her dream that she was thinking of consistently. At that moment she did not have a thing: no textbooks, no teachers, no building, and no money. But she did have a tremendous desire to fulfil her dream.
  • You have been created, redeemed and restored! You were born twice!

We are not only created by God, we are also reworked or recreated by Jesus Christ. We are talking about the opportunity available to sinful people because Christ has come into this world. This is exactly what the letter to Ephesians says:«You were made alive when you were dead in transgressions and sins, in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the powers of the air, the spirit who now works in the children of disobedience; among whom we also all once lived in the lust of our flesh, doing the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest. But God, being rich in mercy, for his great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead through our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up with him, and made us to sit with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come he might show the exceeding riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus; for by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, that no one would boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared before that we would walk in them.» (Ephesians 2:1-10).
  • In our lives we must reflect the life, the power and the nature of Christ

You should not forget that you are God’s ambassadors on earth. When you face a problem or a difficult situation, think of what Jesus would have done if He were in a similar situation. This will help you. Christ is the One we represent on this earth. Think of what He would say, how He would solve the problem, how He would go through the situation you are facing today. If you think about like Christ thinks and you develop or grow in the nature of God, then you will become a strong and influential ambassador of God in your sphere of influence; you will ‘salty’ and you will be bright light in this world.
  • Preparation is a key to effective life

In reality, effective life is impossible without appropriate preparation. Jesus solved the question of effectiveness by preparing Himself for the ministry. There is almost no information about what Jesus had been doing during the first 30 years of His life. Gospels tell us the story about His ministry. Meanwhile, we need to understand that prior to starting His ministry Jesus had been seriously preparing himself for quite a long time.
  • We must prepare the way so that the Lord could come in glory and fullness!

God has a way. He does not force Himself on people; He is the God of order. Until there will be a way prepared for God, He won’t come. Many of us would like for God to come, but He does not come without proper preparation. God goes where people are ready for His visitation. And when God comes, then all barriers are cast aside, the desert starts blooming, the mountains and hills are brought down, the valleys will be filled, the crooked places are made straight and the rough places are made smooth. God can show us the great picture of what He wants to do among us and through us as His people or the Church. But it will take a serious preparation and it will require of us to be very responsible.
