Life without prayer is a road to nowhere

Good day to you, dear readers of „Daily Word for Spiritual Edification”! May God bless you and keep you from all evil on this day!Yesterday we established that lack of prayer is a sign of spiritual illness and a sin. When we truly understand this truth, then we are ready to repent and start praying. Repentance means making a 180 degree turn; it means changing. Life without prayer is a road to nowhere. And I don’t want to walk on this road. When a person repents, he can start developing his prayer life. We must know that God does not turn away from us even when we do not pray. God is very patient and He wants us to understand that without prayer we are spiritually weak and unable to enter the things He has prepared for us. Effective prayer is the thing that opens a way for us and allows God to walk ahead of us. God waits until we come to full realization of it. He is good to His children, but His goodness must lead us to repentance. Many people do not understand it. Sometimes we do things that go against God’s orders and at the same time we feel like it is alright. We say, „I was expecting some trouble, but everything is alright”. It leads to deception. God’s goodness is not a licence to sin, but an opportunity to repent.
“…the goodness of God leads you to repentance” (Romans, 2:4).
God never leaves a person just because he has done something wrong. But God waits for His goodness to bring him to repentance and not serve as a licence to sin. Do you remember Samson? He sinned, but the Holy Spirit came upon him anyway and he was able to lift up the city gates and carry them. Everyone so admired him. He was so strong! But where did he get his strength? From God. Was God blind at the time when Samson sinned? Didn’t He see what Samson was doing? Wasn’t it a sin? God sees and knows everything! God showed Samson His goodness so that Samson would repent. We see that Samson did not repent. So what happened to him? He lost his eyesight. Samson did not realize that God’s goodness leads to repentance and not to sinning. It is not normal if there is no spiritual effort in our lives; if we live without praying and consider it to be alright. God’s mercy covers us, and praise God for it. But His goodness must lead us to repentance. Let’s be ready to repent whenever we feel that we have been neglecting prayer. Ask God to give you the desire to pray, and God will help you with it. Tell God, “Father, give me the desire to pray! Awaken my heart! I need You! I want to live wholesome Christian life!»Wholesome Christian living means stable relationship with God. Apostle Paul gives a good advice:
“Pray without ceasing” (1 Thessalonians, 5:17).
May God’s mercy and grace follow you throughout this day!Till tomorrow!Pastor Rufus Ajiboye

  • Walk in the light and do not give place to the devil!

The measure of our understanding about importance of the lordship of Jesus Christ will determine the level of victory in our lives. No victory is possible without the lordship of Jesus Christ. The victory is where Jesus is. Only the person that allows Jesus Christ to be his or her Lord can truly walk in His victory.Today I would like to give you several illustrations of how, based on the understanding of the lordship of Jesus Christ, we gain protection from all the purposes of the devil. Let’s look into the Bible.
  • Prayer is just like breathing; it is the heavenly aroma that accompanies our life and activities

Prayer is the living breath of heaven. As believers, we can be givers and can be involved in many important activities; nevertheless, without prayer all this ‘work’ will lack the heavenly breath of life. Take a look at artificial flowers: they are beautiful, but have no aroma. We are able to do good works without prayer; but we have to realize that our works will lack the aroma of life, the footprints of heaven. If these flowers were alive, then they would smell.
  • The law of multiplication

If we have seed and sow it in good ground, then we will definitely see a harvest. Seed will grow. Sown seed first gives blade, then head and then grain in the head. Multiplication and growth always imply process. It is unavoidable if we want to receive harvest. We just have to do our part. First, that we have to understand in order to receive harvest is that we need some seed. The truth is that we already have seed. If you want to see multiplication in some area of your life you should know that you already have seed from God.
  • Worthy Goal for Life II

Yesterday we started talking about our goals. Everyone has them. We discussed that there are worthy and less worthy goals. We also saw that after meeting Christ, Paul devoted his life to Him; earnest expectation of Christ to be glorified in his body and through his life became his main goal in life. It is very important to ascertain for ourselves what our goals are.You and I have been justified by faith in Jesus Christ and we have peace with God. But it is just the beginning. Having been reconciled with God is just the beginning of the Christian walk. What awaits us afterwards? Through faith we gain Access to God’s grace and we expect the glory of God to be progressively revealed in us and through us.
  • The example of accountability in the life of apostle Paul

Who was Paul? He is the greatest apostle ever, one who wrote 2/3 of the New Testament. He had access to the revelations like nobody else. He got to know God more than any other apostles.«Regard the patience of our Lord as salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also, according to the wisdom given to him, wrote to you». (2nd Peter 3:15).
  • Greatness starts with little things!

Begin using the little things you have and be faithful and consistent in it; then you will be surprised to see what can grow out of it. The seed of greatness is in every person right now. But this seed will grow and bring harvest only if you will plant it and use it according to its original purpose.«A little one shall become a thousand, and a small one a strong nation. I, the Lord, will hasten it in its time» (Isaiah, 60:22).
