Moving your mountains

Dear Friend, I greet you today in the Name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. The saving power of Christ is manifested in our lives on a daily basis as we make efforts to receive, obey and practice His word consistently in every situation of our lives. One of the things the Word of God teaches that I want you to meditate upon today is the wisdom of moving your mountains. This principle is elaborated in the gospel of Mark chapter 11:
“Have faith in God,” Jesus answered. 23″I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, ’Go, throw yourself into the sea, and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen; it will be done for him. 24Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours” (Mk.11: 22- 24).
The above passage instructs us to do at least three things:
  • To have the faith of God.
  • Speak to your mountains
  • Believe in your heart and doubt not that what you will happen.
The last two of the three actions is just an explanation of the first action. They explain how the faith of God operates. The Bible tells us in the book of Hebrews that the universe was created by faith:
“By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible” (Hebrew11: 3).
And the first chapter of Genesis tells us how God release His faith to create the Heaven and the earth.
“And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light…6And God said, “Let there be an expanse between the waters to separate water from water.” 7 So God made the expanse and separated the water under the expanse from the water above it… 9And God said, “Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place, and let dry ground appear.” And it was so.” (Genesis 1: 3, 6, 7, 9).
God spoke or gave a command and it was so. He speaks because of His faith. He believes that whatever He speaks we come to pass, so He spoke and it was so. Faith is release through words, -words of faith. One of the ways we released our faith is by speaking to our problems.  Very often we speak about our problems instead of speaking to them. Very often we tell God about our problems instead of telling our problems about our God. The Bible instructs us to do it differently. You are instructed to
  • Speak to your mountains
  • Tell it to move
  • Believe in your heart and doubt not and you will have what you say.
Another Scripture that illustrates this principle is in the book of Job.
“What you decide on will be done, and light will shine on your ways.  29 When men are brought low and you say, ’Lift them up!’ then he will save the downcast” (Job22: 28-29).
Please note that faith has to do with decision first of all. You have to make up your mind on what you are going to believe or do. And secondly, it has to do with speaking forth what you want. If it is dark all around you, what you need is light, so stop talking about the darkness and start speaking to the darkness to disappear. Do what God did: He simply said, “Let there be light” and there was light. Tell your darkness to give way for light. And it will be so. The problem today is not that we are not speaking, but that we are not speaking the things we ought to be speaking.Meditate on the Lord and begin to see that the Lord is greater than all the mountains of your life. Consider the fact that the Lord loves you too. And don’t forget to thing about His trustworthiness. You can trust God to do what He has promised to do, if you will do your own part. You are going to rise up in confidence today and speak to your mountains. Mountains must move in your life today in the Name of Jesus. However, before I conclude, I must warn you that there are other factors that will determine if your faith will work or not. In the Book of Job that we we’ve just quoted we can see two other factors that we need to consider before speaking tour mountains. One of the factors is:
”Accept instruction from his mouth and lay up his words in your heart (Job 22: 22).
Another thing is to:
return to the Almighty and remove wickedness far from your tent (Job 22: 23)
There is power in your mouth that must be release right now. You are going to release that power today by speaking to your mountains. Try and see if it works or not. The power of life and death is in your mouth, chose to use that power to bring life instead of death. That is how God Himself operates. Remain blessed! Pastor Rufus Ajiboye

  • Organization of effective prayer life IV

Prayer is meaningful time with God.I will explain what I mean by that. Quite often I use the word ‘time’. Prayer is one of the means of organizing and managing the time we have been given. What is the topic of our prayers is a very interesting question. We all talk about it. There are so many books written on prayer. But who is the person who prays truly effectively? This is a very serious question. God desires us to arrange our lives for effective prayer; it will take our ministry and our whole life to a much higher level.
  • The changes in our lives take place when we become the doers of the Word

«Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls. But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does» (James, 1:21-25).
  • The Christian as an ambassador

There are many metaphors used in the Bible to reveal to us what are our essence and our task on the Earth. The word “messenger or “ambassador” is one of them. Paul uses this word in his letter to Corinthians:«Namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to himself, not reckoning to them their trespasses, and having committed to us the word of reconciliation. We are therefore ambassadors on behalf of Christ, as though God were entreating by us. We beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God». (2nd Corinthians 5:19-20).
  • How accountability helps us to change and grow spiritually?

Accountability is a sincere confession or opening of one’s secrets of his Christian walk to the others in the atmosphere of mutual trust. We are ready to give account of what we do with our lives, what we understand or do not understand, in what areas are weak or in need of assistance. When we are accountable we are willing to admit whether we are growing or not. We are able to give account of what we are learning in order to receive support, encouragement or correction.
  • Just as much as you open yourself to others, they will be able to help you at a time of need

The Church of Jesus Christ is the place of accountability and not where everyone does what comes to his mind. The New Testament contains many of God’s commandments that have the phrase “one another” in them. It tells us that we do not only walk before God, but also walk before one another. For example, it says in several verses that we should love one another.
  • Presence of God III

«Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Lament and mourn and weep! Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up» (James, 4:8-10)From the verses above we see that sin and adultery distance a person from God and block His presence, His power and glory from manifesting. So, besides prayer, there are other things that bring us closer to God and bring His presence into our lives: those are repentance and commitment to live a holy life.
