If we want our talents to multiply, we must have a dream!

Greetings and blessings to you all on this wonderful day given to us by God!

Every one of us who loves God and is born of His Spirit is considered to be a child of God’s Kingdom. We all have talents that God has given to us. And God wants us to multiply our talents and to use them to expand His Kingdom.

If we want our talents to multiply, we must have a dream. We all follow our dream. It is built within us to pursue our dreams and do all we can to fulfill them. When we dream we awaken a desire within us that leads us to have the drive, passion and ambition to accomplish our dream. That is why people with dreams deploy everything within their reach to accomplish their dream. Godly ambition prompts a person to change.

This is what Paul meant in his letter to the Philippians 3: 12-14

Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

There is this brother in our church who wanted to have a license for driving any vehicle. This dream and desire made him ask himself a practical question, which is “What should I do to achieve this?” He understood that to get his driving license he would have to go to driving school, practice, and learn all the information he needed to pass his test. So he did, and he put in all efforts to achieve this dream. Now he has his driving licence and can drive any vehicle.

If you have a dream, it will change you and force you to ask yourself a question: “What shall I change in my character or lifestyle to accomplish this dream?”

Do you have a dream? Maybe you have a dream to have a big house, a well-paid job, travel around the world, and live a comfortable life. Is this a bad dream? Not necessarily. I would never say that the desire to live a comfortable life is a bad thing. If you want to have the biggest house in Latvia, well, that is fine, we will be glad and celebrate you, but the question is: what are your motives for that? If this house is used for the purpose of serving God, then go ahead and build one in Lithuania or any other country.

Are you dreaming of something? A dream can discipline and motivate us. Where there is a dream, there you also have hope, and even if you lose everything, you will survive with a dream in your heart. But if a person’s dream dies, then his hope and life die with it.

One of my favourite characters in the Bible is Joseph. He was like Jesus. You would not find anything bad said about Joseph. For example, you can read that Abraham lied but there is nothing negative about Joseph. Joseph loved the truth and revealed others who were fraudulent; that’s why some people did not like him.

There were hardships in Joseph’s life, but his dream stayed with him all the time; he remained faithful and of good character. God blessed him and he was elevated in life.

We must dream! Through our dreams we can expand our talents.

Never stop dreaming! Dream, but do not stay on the level of ‘just dreaming’. Let your dream move you to make the necessary changes and adjustments you need to achieve great goals to the glory of God.

May God bless you abundantly.

Remember, what is the first sign of a change man? It is the changed attitude towards other people. Joseph’s attitude towards his brothers tells us that he had been changed. Imagine that these were the people that sold him into slavery and caused him to go through pain, misery, losses, trials and serious problems. And now brothers came to Joseph for help and he helped – freely and with no desire to pay back for all the pain. He was able to do it because he was changed and freed from unforgiveness, bitterness and resentment.

  • The wisdom of repentance

We do not confess our sins to the Lord it affects our blessings. In the Scripture above it says that „for day and night Your hand was heavy upon me…” Heaviness of the Lord’s hand – it is not a sign of blessing; it is a sign of curse. An unrepentant life takes away an opportunity to move forward in any area of our lives. When we refuse to repent we lose vitality and power and drought comes instead. Vitality is a sign of a blessing, prosperity, but drought is a sign of curse. According to the Bible, in order for us to flourish and prosper and to gain riches we must have vitality or power (Deuteronomy, 8:18). The lack of repentance in a person’s life deprives him of this power.

  • God doesn’t want us to give up! III

First of all, God ”will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able”. Maybe you don´t even feel that He is keeping all your situations under control but as a matter of fact, He has already set the limit of your hardships. God will not let things, that are above what you can bear, enter your life. You probably underestimate your own strength, but God knows better. When your reasoning is right you prevail over hardships. God will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, so you can overcome all difficulties in life – that´s the idea you should feed your mind with.

  • The person who daily fills his heart with God’s Word has several advantages

    1. God makes the feet of this person strong as the feet of deer. This person is able to run and not get weary. When he or she faces an obstacle or a wall, he has the strength to get over it. This thought is profound: the person who is filled with God’s light has power to overcome the difficulties of life. There are no invincible barriers for him. When the light of God comes into the person’s life, God’s wisdom comes with it and helps overcome all obstacles.

  • The forms of accountability in the life of a Christian

    (1) Teacher – apprentice. We see examples of this type of relationship in Moses and Joshua, Elijah and Elisha, Paul and Timothy. This form of accountability implies having a disciple or apprentice that you invest yourself into helping him to grow in God. This type of relationship means that a teacher is responsible for his disciple and the disciple submits to his teacher. It helps both teachers and disciples to grow in Jesus Christ and walk in submission to the Lord.
