If we want our talents to multiply, we must have a dream!

Greetings and blessings to you all on this wonderful day given to us by God!Every one of us who loves God and is born of His Spirit is considered to be a child of God’s Kingdom. We all have talents that God has given to us. And God wants us to multiply our talents and to use them to expand His Kingdom. If we want our talents to multiply, we must have a dream. We all follow our dream. It is built within us to pursue our dreams and do all we can to fulfill them. When we dream we awaken a desire within us that leads us to have the drive, passion and ambition to accomplish our dream. That is why people with dreams deploy everything within their reach to accomplish their dream. Godly ambition prompts a person to change. This is what Paul meant in his letter to the Philippians 3: 12-14
Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
There is this brother in our church who wanted to have a license for driving any vehicle. This dream and desire made him ask himself a practical question, which is “What should I do to achieve this?” He understood that to get his driving license he would have to go to driving school, practice, and learn all the information he needed to pass his test. So he did, and he put in all efforts to achieve this dream. Now he has his driving licence and can drive any vehicle. If you have a dream, it will change you and force you to ask yourself a question: “What shall I change in my character or lifestyle to accomplish this dream?”Do you have a dream? Maybe you have a dream to have a big house, a well-paid job, travel around the world, and live a comfortable life. Is this a bad dream? Not necessarily. I would never say that the desire to live a comfortable life is a bad thing. If you want to have the biggest house in Latvia, well, that is fine, we will be glad and celebrate you, but the question is: what are your motives for that? If this house is used for the purpose of serving God, then go ahead and build one in Lithuania or any other country. Are you dreaming of something? A dream can discipline and motivate us. Where there is a dream, there you also have hope, and even if you lose everything, you will survive with a dream in your heart. But if a person’s dream dies, then his hope and life die with it.One of my favourite characters in the Bible is Joseph. He was like Jesus. You would not find anything bad said about Joseph. For example, you can read that Abraham lied but there is nothing negative about Joseph. Joseph loved the truth and revealed others who were fraudulent; that’s why some people did not like him. There were hardships in Joseph’s life, but his dream stayed with him all the time; he remained faithful and of good character. God blessed him and he was elevated in life.We must dream! Through our dreams we can expand our talents.Never stop dreaming! Dream, but do not stay on the level of ‘just dreaming’. Let your dream move you to make the necessary changes and adjustments you need to achieve great goals to the glory of God.May God bless you abundantly.Pastor Rufus

  • Jesus came into this world that he might destroy the works of the devil and he might reveal God´s works

«He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. To this end the Son of God was revealed, that he might destroy the works of the devil.» (1st John 3:8).The devil inflicts pain, steals, murder and annihilate people, but God comes in Christ and manifests His power and mercy. In Christ God heals the sick, forgives sins, restores people lives, frees from curse and obsession by demons. A little later we will discuss the details about devil as a source of distress and sufferings people may have. Today I would like you to note that sins of other people also represent a source of pain and suffering.
  • Searching for the meaning of life II

Let’s look at the steps that Solomon took in order to find the meaning of life. We will see what conclusions Solomon came to. The first thing Solomon turned to was acquiring of wisdom and knowledge. «I communed with my heart, saying, „Look, I have attained greatness, and have gained more wisdom than all who were before me in Jerusalem. My heart has understood great wisdom and knowledge.” And I set my heart to know wisdom and to know madness and folly. I perceived that this also is grasping for the wind. For in much wisdom is much grief, and he who increases knowledge increases sorrow» (Ecclesiastes, 1:16-18).
  • Preparation of the way of the Lord III

We have established that God only comes when we have prepared the way for Him. We can do that by ministering to Him and fulfilling His calling in our lives. We pointed out that we have to use all possible means to preach the Gospel of Kingdom in this world, because that is the necessary prerequisite for the Coming of the Lord in glory and power. Let’s look at one more verse from the Scripture that talk about preparing the way of the Lord.
  • Sacrifice as a measure of love! III

It is not hard to love God – simply think about Him, think about what He does for you every day, and your natural response will be gratefulness. Worshipping God will become a natural thing for those who think about Him and His works. God loves you very much. But, if you live and at the same time do not think about Him, do not see what He does for you, it is hard for you to sacrifice; particularly – it is hard for you to sacrifice your busy daily schedule, your finances, your time, your comfort, because you do not think about Him.
  • Purpose for living V

After Solomon forsook God for a season, he tried to find happiness and satisfaction in different things and activities. We see that Solomon made several attempts which all lead to disappointment. For a wise person Solomon’s experience can become good lesson in what the wrong ways to happiness are. We mentioned that Solomon sought happiness in education and knowledge, in fun and pleasures, in beauty, in works of men’s hands. Afterwards he came to a conclusion that despite the fact that all these things are important and necessary for living, none of them can make us happy, if God is excluded from our life. Solomon said that everything under the sun is vanity and grasping for the wind. Solomon’s conclusion was that everything that happens under the sun is vanity and grasping for the wind – if apart from God.
  • People willing to worship God effectively meditate of His character

Thinking about God and His Majesty, focusing our mind on Him should become something we are constantly worried about. That´s what Jesus taught His disciples. You have to look at God with the eyes of your heart before you open your mouth for prayer.Humble meditation of the God´s character He revealed to us is another way of how to worship Him. We receive His mercy when reading His Word, this, in turn, testifies about God´s character.
