Poverty and failure have roots and laziness is an obvious one

Hello Friends! I am glad to welcome each of you to our website this wonderful day.Negligence and slothfulness in life are some of the things that lead to poverty in any sphere of our lives. The Bible is full of thoughts about these issues and of course this truth is also visible in our society as you examine the lives of many people around us today. Poverty and failure have roots. Laziness is an obvious one. One of the reasons for spiritual coldness and lukewarmness is negligence and laziness. Marital failure, financial poverty, failure in ministry and many other forms of poverty can all be traced back to the same root of negligence or dealing with a slack hand.
“He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich” (Proverbs 10:4)
According to the above scriptures, poverty is a consequence of laziness; therefore, without overcoming laziness, you can hardly win the fight over poverty.
“He that tilleth his land shall have plenty of bread: but he that followeth after vain persons shall have poverty enough” (Proverbs 28:19).
The Bible clearly warns us about the importance of diligence and the necessity of developing those gifts and talents which God has granted us. Neglecting your gifts and talents and dealing with a slack hand will eventually lead to poverty and slavery.
“The hand of the diligent shall bear rule: but the slothful shall be under tribute” (Proverb 12:24).

“The soul of the sluggard desireth, and hath nothing: but the soul of the diligent shall be made fat” (Proverb13:4).
“The way of the slothful man is as an hedge of thorns: but the way of the righteous is made plain” (Proverb 15:19).
Dear friend, God’s word for you this first day of week is this: Be diligent in all that you do, and avoid any passivity in business. Thus will your success become obvious to all!
“Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery. 15 Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all” (1 Timothy 4: 14-15).
The man who possesses good business qualities, abilities, and skills does not remain unnoticed; rather, he will be appreciated and valued accordingly.
“Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men” (Proverb22: 29).
Please take some time today and meditate on all the above scriptural verses. May the Lord help you and enrich you. May He enlarge you and make your profiting appear to all as you set out to pursue your assignment with diligence today! Till next time, Pastor Rufus Ajiboye

  • Life is short

All things we have mentioned so far are connected together. Life is time, life is a goal, life is a test, life is trust, and now life is short. This world as we know it now is not your home. God has a New Heaven and a new earth. The kingdom and the system of this world will be overthrown so that it becomes the Kingdom of our God and His Christ. Your life itself is regarded as a vapour that appears for a little time.
  • How can we earn promotion? III

God has set particular order in His Kingdom; there are some principles that the Kingdom of God is based on: humble people open for themselves the grace of walking in the fear of the Lord and they experience riches, honour and full life from God, – the Word of God says so. Prideful and haughty sooner or later are humbled and their life is filled with falls and destruction. If we desire God’s promotion we need to walk in humility and obedience to God. So many people after they get promoted become unapproachable, unsociable, and haughty.
  • Find someone you can trust fully and without holding back and confess to them!

When that happens, you will experience tremendous freedom!Freedom comes when we walk in the light; it is not just how long we pray. When we do the right things that are based on God’s Word, the Son of God sets us free and we are free indeed:«Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free» (John, 8:31-32).
  • Faith is obedience to the Lord! II

«Without faith it is impossible to be well pleasing to him, for he who comes to God must believe that he exists, and that he is a rewarder of those who seek him.» (Hebrew 11:6). As we mentioned earlier, faith means acting in accordance to the word of God. Quite often God calls us to do impossible things, those only God Himself can accomplish. God is not inviting us to demonstrate our own capabilities, but what He is able to do through us. That´s why God often gives us the tasks we cannot accomplish without Him.
  • It is the content of your heart that determines where your life is heading! III

«A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks» (Luke, 6:45).Some people continually blame others and their hearts are full of negative things, fear, insecurities. The reason is that they have allowed these things to enter their hearts and settle in. Whatever you let in, the same things also goes out.
