The fruitfulness of a Christian starts with the discovery of God’s will in all areas of his life and the readiness to fulfills it

Greetings to you, dear friends, on the pages of „Daily Word for Spiritual Edification”! I trust that through these daily messages you are receiving encouragement and inspiration. We have been talking about how important it is to record the revelations and visions that God gives you so that you can know and do the will of God. We were born to fulfill God’s will on earth. And it is only when we do than can we enjoy and walk in divine protection, prosperity and satisfaction in this life. Today I would like us to  discuss Paul’s prayer for his disciples.Apostle Paul knew how important it was to do God’s will, so he consistently prayed for his spiritual children to be filled with the knowledge of God’s will in all spiritual understanding. Paul realized that the effectiveness and  fruitfulness of our life here on earth is directly linked to our understanding  of God’s will for your live and our attitude towards that. For this very reason he unceasingly prayed for his disciples not only to discover the will of God for themselves but also to rightly relate to the will of God.The following passage of the Scripture is one of the examples of Paul’s prayers for his disciples. In this prayer pattern we can dig out some important lessons on how to fulfill our mission in life.
«For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy; giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light. He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins» (Colossians, 1:9 -14).
According to  the above  passage, for a believer to walk worthy of God and be fruitful in every good work, he first must be filled with the knowledge of God’s will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding. The fruitfulness of a Christian starts with  the discovery of God’s will in all areas of life and readiness to fulfill it.
«And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God» (Romans, 12: 2).
We are filled with the knowledge of God’s will through renewing our minds by the Word of God. Through the renewal of our minds we learn to think as God thinks and look at our lives through His eyes. You won’t be able to please God if you are not doing His will for your life. In order to do His will you first need to discover it. That is why wise people who want to bear real fruits for God through their lives devote themselves to  the discovery and comprehension of what God wants to do in their lives and through their lives. As I have mentioned before, this is possible when a person begins to renew his or her mind through personal fellowship with God, prayer and intensive study of  God’s Word.Paul said that wise and understanding people use the time given to them  by God to learn God’s will and to be filled with the Holy Spirit,  thus becoming effective in their lives.
«See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is. And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ» (Ephesians, 5: 15-20).
So the effectiveness and the  fruitfulness of  a child of God begins with the discovery of God’s will. If you do not know  yet what the  will of God is  for your life, then your goal at this point is to spend time wisely to discover „that good and acceptable and perfect will of God for yourself. We will continue  from here tomorrow!May God bless you this day!Pastor Rufus Ajiboye

  • Accountability in the life of Jesus Christ

When we look at the life of Jesus Christ we see that He did not live an independent life. Jesus was accountable to His Father in everything – in words and deeds: «Then Jesus said to them, „When you lift up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am He, and that I do nothing of Myself; but as My Father taught Me, I speak these things» (John, 8:28).
  • How to turn tragedy into triumph?

The world we are living in is full of tragedies, so the word tragedy itself is well known to all of us either christians or pagans. Though, studying the Bible, we understand that the in God´s initial purpose for human kind was something different. The Bible affirms God blessed a man.«God blessed them. God said to them, “Be fruitful, multiply, fill the earth, and subdue it. Have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the sky, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”» (Genesis 1:28)
  • How do we know if we have the fear of God in our lives?

The first way to know this is to understand that the fear of God expresses itself in a hatred of evil.“To fear the Lord is to hate evil; I hate pride and arrogance, evil behavior and perverse speech” (Prov. 8:13) (see also Prov. 3:7; 14:16; 16:6; 23:17; Job. 1:1,8; ; II Cor. 7:1). This is just the opposite of the wicked (Eccl. 8:13—”Yet because the wicked do not fear God, it will not go well with them, and their days will not lengthen like a shadow”). (see also Prov. 1:29; Ps. 36:1-4. ).
  • Life is a trust

You should understand there is nothing that belongs to you. Your life itself is not yours, it’s a trust God has shown to you. Understanding this truth changes the way you respond to what is going on around you.You do not live for yourself; you did not appear on this Earth by your own act of will or for your own personal purpose. God has given life to you as a sign of His trust for you. You are entrusted with life from God and the day will come when you will have to give account to God for the life He given to you, – for all your deeds and words while living in your body.
  • I desire mercy and not sacrifice

«As Jesus passed on from there, He saw a man named Matthew sitting at the tax office. And He said to him, „Follow Me.” So he arose and followed Him. Now it happened as Jesus sat at the table in the house, that behold, many tax collectors and sinners came and sat down with Him and His disciples. And when the Pharisees saw it, they said to His disciples, „Why does your Teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?” When Jesus heard that, He said to them, „Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy and not sacrifice.’ For I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance» (Mathew, 9:9-13).
  • Plan, plant, pray, but also act!

I want to begin this word with a story: A man had a wonderful garden that brought him a rich, abundant harvest. When his neighbor saw that, he decided that the next spring he would make a garden for himself too. But after the neighbor had sawn seeds in his garden, he did not do anything there afterward. He did not water his garden, did not cultivate, neither loosened the soil. When the autumn came, his garden was neglected and full with weeds. And, of course, it did not bring forth any fruit.
