The importance of unity II

Peace unto you, dear God’s children!I thank God for this day and believe that this day will be filled with the blessings from the Lord. Today I’d like to continue on the topic I talked about yesterday – the importance of unity. We saw that when you have a strong team every house will be built and every project will be completed. That kind of team will always achieve victory. In the Bible we see that Jesus also talked about the importance of unity.
“Now when the Pharisees heard it they said, “This fellow does not cast out demons except by Beelzebub, the ruler of the demons.” But Jesus knew their thoughts, and said to them: “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand.” (Mathew, 12:24-25).
According to this Scripture Jesus declares that division brings destruction and defeat. Division in the Body of Christ is one of the things today that cause the Church to be ineffective. Jesus says that when a household is divided in itself it won’t stand. For this very reason Satan actively fights unity in all places, especially the Church and families. For him this is the quickest way to stop the ministry of the Church and to destroy families. Today God wants to address every person that is reading this word: each person that loves Jesus Christ must do everything in his power to avoid being a source of division in His Body. We must not become a source of strife, division and separation in the Church. Besides, we have to be active against anybody who is spreading division in the Body of Christ, even avoid fellowshipping with them. It says so in Romans (16:17-18):
“Now I urge you, brethren, note those who cause divisions and offenses, contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and avoid them. For those who are such do not serve our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly, and by smooth words and flattering speech deceive the hearts of the simple”.
Apostle Paul says that the people who bring division, becoming a stumbling block in the Body of Christ, serve their belly, not Jesus Christ, and this means they are simply looking out for their own benefit instead of loving the Lord. This kind of person does not care about the promotion of the work of God. God asks us not to be a source of division and to do everything that depends on us to confront the people who create division. We must tear down these types of obstacles in the Body of Christ so that the Church can fulfill its destiny on the earth.     Let’s talk about another quality Jethro possessed: he did not pressure Moses to accept his advice. We can see in the Scripture, which I would like us to look at:«If you do this thing, and God so commands you, then you will be able to endure, and all this people will also go to their place in peace» (Exodus, 18:23).We can see here that Jethro did not demand Moses to accept his advice, but gave him a chance to make a choice himself. The phrase “if you do this thing” means that even if Moses did not listen to Jethro, he would not be upset. So he knew he could not take it personally if Moses chooses a different way.

    When we serve people, we should be careful to see to it that all the good works we do, such as taking care of people, giving words of encouragement, gestures and deeds of love are all done for the purpose of drawing those people closer to Jesus and uniting them with Him, and not to glorify ourselves. You should understand that people’s problems will be solved only when they are united with God. If we really want to help people we should understand that nobody can do it better than our Creator.

    Today I would like to start talking about the topic I have titled as: “Your gift will make room for you”. The Word of God says: «A man’s gift makes room for him, and brings him before great men» (Proverbs, 18: 16).Your gift will make room for you and will broaden your boarders, if you won’t hide it. So many times believers ask: «Where is my place in the Body of Christ? What is my calling?»Do what you know. This simple principle gives an answer to many questions. Find the thing that you know how to do; find what you can do to promote the Kingdom of God, to help the church to grow and to extend your influence in the society.

  • There are three main types of believers: observers, consumers/users and servants!

    What type of a believer are you? What are you: an observer, a user or a servant? Today we will attempt to establish what distinguishes observers and consumers from servants.Observes do not care for what goes on around them; they demonstrate indifference. What happens in church does not concern him; he thinks that he only needs to attend Sunday services. He is there for the worship and the sermon and it is enough for him. Such a believer has no problems; he is doing fine at work and at home. He simply observes the events around him and he is happy.

    We continue talking about our role and function as God’s ambassadors on the earth. We’ve talked about the Bible calling us Christ’s ambassadors; God has sent us to encourage people to be reconciled with God. The Bible also calls us the salt of the earth and the light to the world. But if we as Christ’s ambassadors on earth do not actively practise our faith, then our society will deteriorate. Today, if we look at successful and prosperous countries, we can see the reason of their success and prosperity is because the people there embrace and practice Christian values. Only righteousness exalts a nation – Thai is a law, – God’s law. Only righteousness makes a nation prosperous! Injustice and sin destroy a nation.
