The importance of unity

Greetings to you, my dear friends!

Today I want to share with you the importance of unity. Unity of goals and vision, unity of language and efforts always generate that great and powerful urge that is necessary for a project to succeed. This is precisely the thing that we see in this passage of Scripture:

“Then they said to one another, „Come let us make bricks and bake them thoroughly.” They had brick for stone, and they had asphalt for mortar. And they said, „Come, let us build ourselves a city, and a tower whose top is in the heavens; let us make a name for ourselves, lest we be scattered abroad over the face of the whole earth.” But the Lord came down to see the city and the tower which the sons of men had built. And the Lord said, „Indeed the people are one and they all have one language, and this is what they begin to do; now nothing that they propose to do will be withheld from them. Come, let Us go down and there confuse their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech.” (Genesis 11:3-7).

This Scripture tells us that the people had one goal, they had one language, and they put forth a unified effort, and it says about them that “now nothing that they propose to do will be withheld from them.” God said that because of their unity they would be successful in everything that they do.
In the Bible, God often speaks to His people about unity. Unity is a very important key that allows us as God’s people or the Church to fulfill the will of God and our calling on this earth.

A united and consolidated team will always succeed! That is why Satan so fervently fights against the unity of God’s people. Satan works extremely hard to obstruct understanding between people, causing them to grow apart so that the work of God and the establishment of His Kingdom on this earth do not go on.
Today God wants to say to each of us that it is very important to strive towards unity and towards becoming one team that has decided to establish the Kingdom of God.

Are you a part of God’s team? What is your place on this team? Are you trying to understand its vision? Are you putting forth effort to reach the goals that are set before your team so that the Kingdom of God may be established?
This is the word of God for today: Do your best so that the unity of this team is preserved. Pride, selfishness, sin are common hindrances in the making of a team. Think about it today and ask yourself this question: are you putting forth the necessary effort to maintain the unity of your church?

May God bless you today!
Until tomorrow!

  • The changes in our lives take place when we become the doers of the Word

«Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls. But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does» (James, 1:21-25).

  • Sacrifice as a measure of love! IV

I want to tell you that singing to God, praising Him, enjoying His presence is not a difficult task at all, if we will only take a moment to reflect or think of His grace. Even when you are having very hard times in life, you can still find something in your life that you can thank God for. Even when you think everything in your life is falling to pieces and your situation is the worst on earth, nevertheless, continue to believe – you simply have not encountered a situation that is worse than yours. But, when you see such a situation, you will find that you live in paradise.

  • Is anything too hard for the Lord?

This question is so crucial because how we answer it will determine the measure of God’s involvment in our lives. This question helps us to realize that how much we know about God affects the level of our faith. When a person believes that there is nothing impossible for God, that person has a particular attitude towards life, a particular reaction to hardships, a particular spiritual attitude that appears when he or she runs into difficult problems that do not change for a long time.

  • Qualities that make us the salt of the earth and light of the world

    1) Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven (Mathew, 5:3). This talks about dependency on God. Our lives depend on God. And since we realize our dependency, we must continually come to God and spend time with Him. This is a foundational step in becoming the salt of the earth and the light of the world; we must live a life that is totally depended on God!2) Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted (Mathew, 5:4). Sin, unrighteousness and injustice that surround us must motivate us to pray and mourn before God, to stand in the gap for our land. It must motivate us to repent of the sins and unrighteousness of our nation. When we look at the things around us with God’s eyes, then everything that grieves God will grieve us as well. This is where passion is born and a vision for change is conceived.

  • Preparation of the way of the Lord II

Yesterday we started talking about God’s desire to demonstrate His glory and fullness in our lives; for this to happen we have to prepare our hearts and to prepare the way of the Lord. We have to cleanse our hearts from the things that God hates and cannot look upon. The following verses from the Scripture reveal the principle of preparation the way of the Lord.«In those days John the Baptist came preaching in the wilderness of Judea, and saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!” For this is he who was spoken of by the prophet Isaiah, saying: “The voice of one crying in the wilderness: ‘Prepare the way of the LORD; make His paths straight.’”» (Mathew, 3:1-3).
