True joy is a power that helps us to go ´till the end and reach the goal

Welcome, dear readers of our column “Daily word for spiritual strength”! Opportunity to feed our heart with the living word of God is given to us by the great mercy of the Lord. God is light, there is no darkness in Him! The light of His word enlightens us and makes us wiser.Jesus was glad when He saw God´s will being fulfilled on Earth, since that´s was His goal He came here for. That is exactly why Jesus could rejoice even at the time of His sufferings. He was able to see events of His personal life with the light of eternity, and He knew hos it related to His mission. Jesus went to die on the cross being aware of that God´s will for Him thus would be fulfilled. Outside of His sufferings and pain He could see something of greater value. In His death Jesus could see millions of people saved and made free, that´s why He rejoiced being slandered and tortured. True joy is a power that helps us to go ´till the end and reach the goal, whatever temporary obstacles come our way. What is the reason of your life if at the end your joy turns into sorrow. Jesus said that a man may gain the whole world but lose his soul.
«For what does it profit a man, to gain the whole world, and forfeit his life? For what will a man give in exchange for his life?» (Mark 8:36-37).
The fact that you´ve gained the whole world should not be the reason why you rejoice, rather rejoice because you can use your benefits to do great things for the Lord, fulfil your mission on this Earth thus helping God to save many people. When you receive healing you should rejoice not just because it´s happened but rather because now being fit as a fiddle you can do more for the Lord. What is the benefit of your health if you waste your life for nothing! The answer is – no benefit! So Jesus told His disciples not to rejoice because the spirits were subject to them, but rejoice that their names were written in heaven, thus God´s will was fulfilled.
«Nevertheless, don’t rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.”». (Luke 10:20).
Jesus rejoiced when disciples revealed the secrets of the Kingdom of Heaven, for it was well-pleasing in God´s eyes.
«In that same hour Jesus rejoiced in the Holy Spirit, and said, “I thank you, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for so it was well-pleasing in your sight.”». (Luke 10:21).
Even nowadays Jesus is still rejoicing when sees God´s will fulfilled on Earth as on Heaven. Do you want to please God more? Then consecrate yourself to reveal and fulfil His will for your life. You, for example, can dedicate your life to do your best drawing sinners into the Kingdom of Heaven. Heaven rejoice each time when one sinner repents his sins on Earth.
«I tell you that even so there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents, than over ninety-nine righteous people who need no repentance. … Even so, I tell you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner repenting.”» (Luke 15:7-10).
If you can consecrate yourself to doing everything that helps to bring sinners to Christ, then your life on Earth will become the source of constant jubilation on Heaven. We are going to continue tomorrow.Be blessed!Rufus Adjiboje, pastor

«Behold, a certain lawyer stood up and tested him, saying, “Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?” He said to him, “What is written in the law? How do you read it?” He answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbour as yourself.”
  • Faith is obedience to the Lord!

ew days we have been discussing the ways of how to experience God´s power and mercy in your life. We discovered that love to God and close relationships with Him help you to get to know His heart and His will towards your life while making your heart sensitive to His Spirit. Once our heart is sensitive to the Holy Spirit we are certain about what to do and how to act in order to glorify God through us.
  • We multiply our talents by using them and putting them to practise

We have to apply our gifts. We must find for ourselves a place in church, in God’s Kingdom. Your barrenness is nobody’s fault, but yours. Learn to apply your talents and do it well. Whatever you do, do it well to be called a good and faithful servant. The word „faithful” contains deep meaning. You can depend on a faithful servant; he is reliable; he never lets down.
  • Spiritual discipline

The paradox is that most Christians, who discipline themselves in other areas of their life in order to be successful – like job or carrier, do not believe they need to be disciplined in the area of godliness. We are talking about good Christians who are faithful members of the Church of the Living God. These are people who love God’s Word and often are very enthusiastic about the work of God. But because of the lack of discipline they do not reach their potential in God’s Kingdom.
  • The blessedness or beauty of serving others! III

Ministry and giving determines the measure of one’s spiritual growth and maturity. It also determines how much I bear a resemblance to Jesus Christ. God wants us to grow spiritually. One of the indications of one’s spiritual growth is how he or she fulfils the needs of others. Such a person not only takes and receives, but also gives. Giving and ministry is one and the same word that determines how much of resemblance to Jesus Christ I bear.It says in the Bible that Jesus came to this earth to serve and not to be served. He is the example of a minister. Many of us want others to serve us. God says that we should minister and serve others. He wants us to be like Jesus.
  • The breastplate of faith, love and the helmet of the hope of salvation

“But let us who are of the day be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet the hope of salvation” (1 Thessalonians, 5: 8)The breastplate of faith, love and the helmet of the hope of salvation – these are extremely valuable forces that can help us in these last days. That is why our efforts should be directed towards building up faith, walking in love and having hope of salvation. How can we build and cultivate faith, hope and love in our lives? It becomes possible as we feed on the right food, which is the Word of God, and as we practise the Word.
