We are the salt of the earth and light of the world

Grace and peace to you from our Lord Jesus Christ! Welcome to „Daily Word for Spiritual Edification”!We continue talking about our role and function as God’s ambassadors on the earth. We’ve talked about the Bible calling us Christ’s ambassadors; God has sent us to encourage people to be reconciled with God. The Bible also calls us the salt of the earth and the light to the world. But if we as Christ’s ambassadors on earth do not actively practise our faith, then our society will deteriorate. Today, if we look at successful and prosperous countries, we can see the reason of their success and prosperity is because the people there embrace and practice Christian values. Only righteousness exalts a nation – Thai is a law, – God’s law. Only righteousness makes a nation prosperous! Injustice and sin destroy a nation.The bible says: 
 «Salt is good, but if the salt loses its flavour, how will you season it? Have salt in yourselves, and have peace with one another» (Mark, 9:50).
 As we see in this verse, salt is a good thing, and Christina faith is profitable and necessary for every society. The society that has Christians living in it is a place blessed by God. But the society will only be blessed when the believers will confidently function as Christ’s messengers, as the salt of the earth and the light to the world. As believers we must be blessing to the people around us. We must fill the air around us with the light of the truth. We must reveal to the world our Lord Jesus Christ as being the Author of life. The nature of God that we bear in ourselves is what makes us the salt in our society. But if we do not accept God’s nature and lead a selfish lifestyle, if we do not reflect God’s light and live like the world, then we become useless and lose our ability to change society. The Gospel of Mathew recites particular character traits that we need to develop in ourselves in order to truly become the salt that does not lose its strength and to be a blessing for the earth. When believers will begin to ‘salt’ the society with God’s truth and the values of God’s Kingdom, then God will change our society – through His children. We will talk more on this tomorrow. When your reasoning is right you prevail over hardships.     Yesterday we began talking about how all great things always start small and insignificant. In order to enter the fullness of your calling and ministry, we need to do what is revealed to us today whatever that would be. Your knowledge, your experience and your mind – these are all gifts from God which we can use in serving people. When you serve people with your gifts, then these gifts make room for you. «A man’s gift makes room for him, and brings him before great men» (Proverbs, 18: 16).Studying the church history, we see that all of God’s generals didn’t start big. These people used what they had and did whatever they could. They began using the abilities they had. Eventually, their gifts found their place in the Body of Christ and grew into large ministries.

  • God wants prayer to become priority in the lives of His children!

    Everything that devil has bound up in your life – your miracle, your promises, – can be released to you by the supernatural power of God. But for it to happen, prayer must become your number 1 priority.Take any Bible story and you will see what powerful prayer of believers is able to accomplish. For example, what did Daniel do when he was thrown into lions’ den? Did he pray? No, it was too late to pray. He had been praying long before he got to this point in his life. It is too late to pray when you are in a den with some lions. You must pray before anything like that happens! Daniel prayed three times a day every day.

  • Preparation of the way of the Lord II

    Yesterday we started talking about God’s desire to demonstrate His glory and fullness in our lives; for this to happen we have to prepare our hearts and to prepare the way of the Lord. We have to cleanse our hearts from the things that God hates and cannot look upon.The following verses from the Scripture reveal the principle of preparation the way of the Lord.«In those days John the Baptist came preaching in the wilderness of Judea, and saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!” For this is he who was spoken of by the prophet Isaiah, saying: “The voice of one crying in the wilderness: ‘Prepare the way of the LORD; make His paths straight.’”» (Mathew, 3:1-3).
