What is a breakthrough? II
Peace into you, dear children of God! This is the day of your breakthrough therefore prepare your heart to receive wisdom for a breakthrough.
Yesterday we started to speak about breakthrough and what it means. We spoke about a man who had been crippled for more than forty years, and how he experienced a breakthrough. We spoke also about how his status changed due to the power of a breakthrough. „One day Peter and John were going up to the temple at the time of prayer—at three in the afternoon. Now a man crippled from birth was being carried to the temple gate called Beautiful, where he was put every day to beg from those going into the temple courts. When he saw Peter and John about to enter, he asked them for money. Peter looked straight at him, as did John. Then Peter said, “Look at us!” So the man gave them his attention, expecting to get something from them. Then Peter said, “Silver or gold I do not have, but what I have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.” Taking him by the right hand, he helped him up, and instantly the man’s feet and ankles became strong. He jumped to his feet and began to walk. Then he went with them into the temple courts, walking and jumping, and praising God. When all the people saw him walking and praising God, they recognized him as the same man who used to sit begging at the temple gate called Beautiful, and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.” (Ap.d.3: 1-10). Breakthrough always changes a person’s status and position. Today, I want to draw your attention to the fact that in this story, not only the crippled man experienced a breakthrough but also Peter and John, the Apostles. Not only the cripples need a breakthrough. Every person needs a breakthrough!
Along with the crippled man, also Peter and John, the Apostles, experienced a breakthrough, because miracles that had not happened beforein through their ministry took place exactly on that day. Ever since then, different miracles never ceased in their lives and ministries. Even the shadow of Peter who started healing the sick as he passed by them. Imagine what will happen to you when you begin to experience a continual breakthrough in every sphere of your life. If you are in the ministry, you need such a breakthrough as Peter and John had. They were not crippled and sick, but they needed another kind of breakthrough. After this incident – the healing of the crippled man – their faith and trust in God grew a lot. Due to this incident, the effectiveness and productivity of their ministry was remarkably raised. On the day of Pentecost, three thousand people repented as a result of Peter’s sermon, but after this breakthrough, five thousand people repented as a result of his sermon.
With many other words he warned them; and he pleaded with them, “Save yourselves from this corrupt generation.” Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day.” (Acts 2:40-41)
God wants you to have a breakthrough today. Do you want it? If yes, then turn to God in prayer and begin to thank Him for a breakthrough in every sphere of your life where you currently experiencing some limitations and serious obstacles.Remember: God will give you a breakthrough if you are able to rely on Him in your situations.
