What fruit does God want to see in our lives?

Dear friends, I welcome you today to the column of our „Daily Word for Spiritual Edification”! The last time we talked about how God is glorified when we bear much fruit. When we talk about fruit, we can mean different things. So what did God mean when He said: «I want you to bear much fruit»? You cannot bear fruit if you do not know what God means by it and what He expects of you. So what fruit does God want to see in our lives?
  1. The souls of the people that have repented and come back to God.
Every person that has come back to God is like a fruit. Every repented soul is the product of someone’s fruit that before God. God wants to see as many people as possible meeting Jesus and making Him the Lord of their lives through you. When we help people to meet Jesus and accept His lordship, we bear fruit that glorify God. When the Bible talks about Jesus, it says that His life was the light of people:
«In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it» (John, 1:4-5).
But in John, Chapter 1 we read that there was another man called John the Baptist who came to testify of the Light, that is of Jesus so that people would believe in Him:
«There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. This man came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all through him might believe. He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. That was the true Light which gives light to every man coming into the world» (John, 1:6-9).
Jesus came from heaven as the true Light in order to give light to every man coming into the world. Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil. He came to give us life and life more abundant. He came to seek and save the lost. we know the that until a person is reconciled with God and believes in Him, he lives in darkness and under the authority of the devil. A man without God is eternally lost. Yet how can one believe if he has not heard; and how can he hear if nobody preaches or declare who God is to him?
«For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. For „whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved.” How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: „How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, who bring glad tidings of good things!”» (Romans, 10: 12-15).
What is the Lord saying to us in the above passage? He wants every disciple of His to be active in preaching the gospel to the unsaved world. God wants the unbelievers to believe, call upon the name of the Lord and be saved. Jesus is the Light of the world; He walks among the people and desires to deliver them from the burden of sin and addiction. Jesus wants to give light to every person who comes to Him. But every disciple of Christ must use every opportunity to bear witness of the Light to the world just like John the Baptist did. God’s desire is to see as many people as possible coming to Jesus through us:
«This man came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all through him might believe» (John, 1:7).
You have come into the Kingdom of God «to bear witness of the Light, that all through him might believe». Say it out loud: «I live in order to bear witness of the Light – of Jesus so that all through me might believe in Him». Bring the light of God into every place where you go and glorify God through it! Till tomorrow!May God bless every one of you!Pastor Rufus Ajiboye

In the Gospel of Mathew Jesus told a parable about Master giving his servants different talents. «For the kingdom of heaven is like a man travelling to a far country, who called his own servants and delivered goods to them. And to one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one, to each according to his own ability; and immediately he went on a journey» (Mathew, 25: 14-15).Jesus shows us here that the criterion of His assessment is not quantity, but faithfulness. God know that every one of us has different abilities, so the quantitative result will be different for different people. Numbers are not important to Jesus; He cares about how faithful you have been with what God has given you. He cares about your attitude towards His work.
  • The example of accountability in the life of apostle Paul II

Leaving for his mission Paul didn´t make himself unaccountable just because he had already been anointed and free. At that moment Paul had become a mature minister established many churches. Nevertheless, he was still an accountable person. He returned to the church at Antioch, to the place he had been sent from, to meet those whom God had been made an authority over Paul. Moreover, Paul also held an account before the apostles in Jerusalem regarding the way his ministry was going.«Then after a period of fourteen years I went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas, taking Titus also with me. I went up by revelation, and I laid before them the gospel which I preach among the Gentiles, but privately before those who were respected, for fear that I might be running, or had run, in vain». (Galatians 2:1-2).
  • Do not bury your miracle!

Today I want to encourage you not to burry your dream, even when everything around you tells you that it won’t ever come true. There is such a thing as the power of resurrection. That is the word I want to bring to you.We started to talk about a woman whose hospitality and generosity brought a miracle into her life, and as a result she gave birth to a son.
  • Never be stopped by problems!

Satan wants to hit our spirit via hardships, trials and problems. When your spirit is strengthened, you can overcome any kind of weakness, get through all kind of hardships and trials. So how can we strengthen our spirit? God´s word and His promises strengthen our spirit and overcome weakness and sufferings. In order to not give up, we need to learn how to lean on the word of God and His promises – fully and unconditionally. We have to learn God´s faithfulness and realise that God will never forsake us unless we abandon Him ourselves.
  • Sin is the root of the evil

«He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil» (1 John, 3:8).The devil deceived Adam and Eve who were reflecting the glory of God in the earth, because he hated God and all the things that brought glory to God. Adam and Eve were given a free will and a right to choose and they decided to disobey God and submit to the voice of the devil. That is how sin entered their life and the life of all of the generations after them. They gave themselves and their posterity into the hands of death. And since that time death has begun its reign over people.
