What do we have to prepare ourselves for?

Greetings to you, my friends! Mercy and peace of our Lord, Jesus Christ be with you!We are discussing that success and effectiveness in our life are impossible without preparation. Former prime minister of Great Britain, Benjamin Disraeli said: “One secret of success in life is for a man to be ready for his opportunity when it comes.”Influential people understand this fact. Therefore, if you are willing to spend your life effectively and have influence on the others, you have to prepare yourself for that.So what do we have to prepare ourselves for?In order to know it you have to answer a few questions that can help you to understand what to do at the current stage of your life.
  1. What goals and tasks do I have today? What are my short-term and long-term projects for my life? What steps am going to take?
  2. Why are these goals and tasks so important?
  3. What else do I need to know in order to reach my goals?
  4. How to combine together all resources I currently have at my disposal to achieve these goals?
  5. What kind of person should I become so that all my dreams could be fulfilled?
Influential people have methods and the system for answering all those questions. Do you have such system? Main events in the life of a Christian are oriented towards his future. We are the people of the future. We are the hope not just for today´s world but also for the future world. Our future is not tied with the present circumstances but with the God´s promises instead. We have hope because we have the future. We are not expecting crisis but glory and victory, though. We are not like those without hope. Looking forward to the next day God´s glory reveals to us, instead of distress and darkness.
«Arise, shine; for your light is come, and the glory of Yahweh is risen on you. For, behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the peoples; but Yahweh will arise on you, and his glory shall be seen on you.» (Isaiah 60:1-2).
Though, it will not happen automatically. The summit you reach tomorrow depends on the level of your today´s dedication and obedience to God, your today´s life in prayer and revelation. Many people are standing by, while waiting for changes and the glorious future. Meanwhile, the Bible encourages us to develop a completely different attitude to our life. We have to start our preparation today, cleanse ourselves today, so we are ready to meet the Lord tomorrow.Many other people are waiting for better time to begin the preparation. I must warn you that today is the best time for preparation. People think they would handle preparation for effective life when given a good job, released from their financial difficulties, solved all family problems, succeeded in business, etc. What an illusion!Things you are doing exactly today and now determine whether your situation will change or not. Things you do on daily basis, your daily routine bring desirable changes and results into your life – that´s what is really important in your life! Therefore, let your life be based on the revelation that tells you about your preparation as a key to effective and influential life.God bless you abundantly!Rufus Adjiboye, pastor

    A disciplined person is always in submission to certain set of rules and order. If you do not have any rules or regulations, if you avoid the word ‘order’, in your life, then you are undisciplined, and you won’t be able to experience any spiritual progress or growth.Spiritual growth which is related to positive changes in a person’s life is not a heritage meant for undisciplined people. If a person lacks discipline, he will always break and ignore rules and regulations. It does not matter how many sets of rules and regulations he impose on himself for noble purposes, an undisciplined man will break them all as soon as he made them.

  • Searching for the meaning of life II

    Let’s look at the steps that Solomon took in order to find the meaning of life. We will see what conclusions Solomon came to. The first thing Solomon turned to was acquiring of wisdom and knowledge. «I communed with my heart, saying, „Look, I have attained greatness, and have gained more wisdom than all who were before me in Jerusalem. My heart has understood great wisdom and knowledge.” And I set my heart to know wisdom and to know madness and folly. I perceived that this also is grasping for the wind. For in much wisdom is much grief, and he who increases knowledge increases sorrow» (Ecclesiastes, 1:16-18).

  • The Importance of God’s will

    Today I would like to start talking about „The Importance of God’s will”. The Holy Scripture says: “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven” (Mathew, 7: 21). The Bible calls every one of us to have sound mind, especially in learning the will of God for his or her life.«Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is» (Ephesians, 5:18).Why is it so important to allocate some time for seeking out the will of God? Why is understanding of God’s will so necessary for a person? It is because the understanding of God’s will determine both our happiness here, on earth, and our status in the future, in eternity.

    Laying hold of eternal life means that a person strives to stay on the narrow road which leads to eternal life. Jesus knew that it would be so convenient for many to walk the broad road; being on this road, a person feels comfortable and lives without any restrictions; he does what he wants to do and is not limited by any commitments. But the Bible says that it is the way of sin, because a person is not accountable and moves ‘without brakes’, so to speak; this way leads to destruction. God says that we shouldn’t walk on this way. We must flee sin; we must cast aside all the worldly, ungodly things that hinder us, otherwise we won’t get to our destination – eternal life. Jesus says that many people will deny faith.

    After Solomon forsook God for a season, he tried to find happiness and satisfaction in different things and activities. We see that Solomon made several attempts which all lead to disappointment. For a wise person Solomon’s experience can become good lesson in what the wrong ways to happiness are. We mentioned that Solomon sought happiness in education and knowledge, in fun and pleasures, in beauty, in works of men’s hands. Afterwards he came to a conclusion that despite the fact that all these things are important and necessary for living, none of them can make us happy, if God is excluded from our life. Solomon said that everything under the sun is vanity and grasping for the wind. Solomon’s conclusion was that everything that happens under the sun is vanity and grasping for the wind – if apart from God.
