Love is a weapon of victory of the last time!

Good day, dear friends! We continue talking about spiritual weapons given to us by God at these last days. These days the Bible foresees many hardships in different spheres of our life – political, economical, commercial and spiritual. Jesus warned about different calamities during the last days of the world.
«For there will arise false christs and false prophets, and will show signs and wonders, that they may lead astray, if possible, even the chosen ones.» (Mark 24:22).
«Unless those days had been shortened, no flesh would have been saved. But for the sake of the chosen ones, those days will be shortened.» (Mark 13:20).
Many prophets of the Old Testament also warned about the last days. Isaiah wrote: «For behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and thick darkness the peoples; but the LORD will arise upon you, and his glory will be seen upon you.» (Isaiah 60:2).
According to the prophet Isaiah – when the darkness covers the Earth and gross darkness the people – in the hearts of many people there will be confusion and lack of understanding, fear and unrest. Meanwhile, this is the time when us, believers will be able to overcome all those difficulties, prosper and go forward together with God. Regardless of what is going in the world we shall live in peace and rest. We have to learn how to operate the spiritual weapons received from God, namely, faith, hope and love. Earlier in our column we discussed the role of faith in the victory in the battle of the last days. Today we are going to touch the role of love. “At the last days” – said Jesus – “the world will be full of hatred, sin, betrayal, resentment and bitterness.” Those who are not able to walk in love will experience serious problems at the last days – faced the power of sin they will not be able to fight it, get emotional injuries shortening their lives. Such people will end up with heart attack and nervous breakdown caused by the stream of evil, hatred, betrayal, rebellion and ingratitude over-flooding the world at the last days. Jesus says in the gospel of Matthew:
«Then many will stumble, and will deliver up one another, and will hate one another. Many false prophets will arise, and will lead many astray. Because iniquity will be multiplied, the love of many will grow cold. But he who endures to the end, the same will be saved..» (Matthew 24:10-13).
In addition to this description of the last days, Jesus also left us many commandments about love. If we walk in love, obey its commandments and develop walking in love, then regardless of the hardships of the last days we will celebrate victory in Christ, dwell in peace and praise the Lord. Let the Lord help each of us to walk in love, since love is a weapon of victory of the last time.We are going to meet again tomorrow.Be blessed! Rufus Adjiboye, pastor

  • What good does reading of the Bible does to a person?

«All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness…» (2 Timothy, 3:16).It is written that God’s Word is profitable for reproof. What is reproof? Reproof is when you are showed when you are being wrong. Quite often you and I are wrong; we need to be corrected by the Word of God.But the Bible not only corrects us; it also teaches us. The Bible disciplines and edifies us. The Bible helps us to realize how we can our lives and where to start.
  • Apart from Him there is no true satisfaction and happiness! III

We will continue about Solomon’s search for happiness, satisfaction and the meaning of life. We have already discussed that in the beginning of his life Solomon sought God and loved him, and God gave him wisdom and riches, happiness and fulfilment in life. But Solomon got caught up with superficial things of this world and started to follow other gods. Solomon started seeking for happiness and satisfaction in things and activities. He found only disappointment in them and then he turned back to his beginning. The story of Solomon is a lesson to all of us; it tells us that the meaning of life, happiness and satisfaction cannot be found anywhere but in God alone. So we need to develop and strengthen personal relationships with God.
  • What are the grounds or foundations of favour? II

Through faith in Jesus Christ we become clothed in his righteousness and nature. In the our spirit we have the perfect character of the Almighty God even though we do not become perfect in our actions immediately after becoming followers of Jesus. We reflect God’s life, character and thoughts more and more in our lives to that extent to which we submit ourselves to the new nature in our spirit. Our daily submission to God’s nature and character in us is what I call practical righteousness that qualifies us for God’s favour.
  • The best and most influential sermon we can ever preach is the message of our lives

My life preaches even when I don’t know about it. This is why it is so important to be changed so that our lives reflect what we say and comply with it. Our lives must be our loudest sermon and not our words. It is the will of God for us.God changes us not only through trials and hardships, but also through His grace and mercy.
  • Jesus transforms those that follow Him III

We must keep God’s call to change right before our eyes as one of the most important goals. As soon as we come to God and enter His Kingdom, the desire to change and grow into the likeness of Jesus should be our single desire and our daily bread. And when we start changing, the things around us will change along with the inward changes we experience. Then the most awful situation will change for better and terrible problems will be solved. All of this will happen along with the transformation of our character in the process of the spiritual growth.
  • The importance of stopping all activities and being alone with God

«From there He arose and went to the region of Tyre and Sidon. And He entered a house and wanted no one to know it, but He could not be hidden.»Jesus came to Tyra and Sidon to find some solitude and rest from people because His last day was coming closer – the day of His death on the Golgotha. Possibly, Jesus wanted to be alone with His Father to discuss what was awaiting Him on the Golgotha. Thus, Jesus was showing us an example of stopping all activities and being alone with God. We also need – every once in a while – to leave all the clutter of this world and all its cares and to find time for being alone with the Father. God is calling you today to find right time and a right place to be alone with God even among all the cares and stresses of this world. By doing it you will be able to gain access to godly wisdom, receive peace from God and succeed in this life.
