Who you are in Christ and who you can become in Him

I welcome each of you on this new day which the Lord has graced us to see. Today God wants to share with us His Word of wisdom. God’s wisdom is capable of changing our lives and dispelling our darkness. God is more focused on who you are in Christ and who you can become in Him, rather than who you are in the past. However, the devil and people who operate out of his nature often focus on your past and identify you with your failures and weakness in life. They identify you more with your weaknesses, defeats and failures, rather than with your successes, possibilities and your potential. One of the reasons why God often changed names of people in bible is because He believes in your potential and in your future more than your past and your failures. For example, He changed Simons name to Peter, He changed Jacob Name to Israel, He changed Abram’s name to Abraham and so on. God wants you to believe today that in Christ Jesus you have been given a NEW NAME. You have identified with your old names, your past and failures long enough.God has given you new name in Christ, so stop wearing the old name tag given to you by people, by the enemy of your soul or by your circumstances. Believe in the wonderful possibilities available to you now in God because of your new identity in Christ. Begin to identify yourself with your God given name! Only thus will you be able to realize your potential in God. Follow the example of Jabez who refused to identify himself with illness and weakness, but rather enlarged his coast because he sought for new identity in God.
“And Jabez was more honourable than his brethren: and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, Because I bare him with sorrow. {Jabez: that is, Sorrowful}  And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested” (1 Chronicle 4: 10).
Jabez covets the blessings of God and prayed his way out of limitation. He didn’t allow the circumstances surrounding his birth (his past) to limit his potential in life. As a result of that, God has blessed him and has enlarged his coast. Start aspiring God’s blessings in your life also and enlarge your coast by identifying with your new image in Christ. Find time today to sincerely reflect who you are in the Christ, who you can become in Christ, and what you can do through faith in Jesus Name. That way you will soon see that there is no limitation to your growth and development in this life. In Christ, all things are possible for you! Just like Paul, you can boldly say
“I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me”(Philippians 4:13).
 Remember that
“… if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” (2 Corinthians 5:17)
Remind yourself throughout the day that you have been given a new status, new possibility and new destiny in the Christ and keep thanking God for this. This is God’s desire for you today! May your day be filled with victories and blessings from the Lord! See you tomorrow! Pastor Rufus Ajiboye

  • God looks at what we do with what we already know

We are talking about the importance of knowing and doing God’s will. Yesterday we talked about the fact that God reveals His plans and intentions to us gradually as we reach particular levels of maturity and grow in our ability to accept what He has prepared for us. We also established that God reveals His will to those who are close to Him, seek His will and are willing to do His will. God looks at what we do with what we already know, and only then He will reveal the next part of His plan for our lives.
  • The wisdom of repentance II

David talks about the obvious advantages that are available to a person after he has confessed his sins.1. Supernatural freedom from guilt and condemnation.« I acknowledged my sin to You, and my iniquity I have not hidden. I said, „I will confess my transgression to the Lord,” and You forgave the iniquity of my sin» (Psalm 32:5). Right after we confess our sins God takes away from us the burden of guilt. When our own hearts condemn us, when we experience the guilt caused by our sins, it is extremely hard to boldly go before Godi n prayer. Feelings of guilt destroy our confidence. So, in order for us to get rid of the guilt we need to repent of our sins.
  • It is the content of your heart that determines where your life is heading! II

The Word of God that you keep in your heart will save you! In hard times, when people rise against you with slander and when all the circumstances seem to be against you, only the Word of God that you have in your heart will save you. That is why we say that God’s Word is our support system. It is like a bearing wall in a building. If you take it down, the building will collapse. A bearing wall carries the weight.
  • Changes depend on our knowledge

«For we know in part, and we prophesy in part; but when that which is complete has come, then that which is partial will be done away with. When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I felt as a child, I thought as a child. Now that I have become a man, I have put away childish things. For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I will know fully, even as I was also fully known». (1st Corinthians 13:9-12).
  • How can we experience God in our life? III

Let Him talk to your heart today. We keep on talking about how we can experience God´s presence, power and His mercy in our life. Yesterday we stated that constant fellowship with God is mandatory in order to experience these things. We quoted many verses from Scripture telling us that people who love God have obvious advantages. For such people God has prepared many pleasant surprises and all things together work for good in their lives and God Himself appears to them.«We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose.» (Romans 8:28).
