All true ministry begins in the presence of God IV

Peace to you and grace be multiplied in Jesus Name!I want us to continue to explore the classic example we saw in the book of Isaiah about starting our ministry in the presence of God. So far we have seen that such lifestyle allows us to see things from a godly perspective. it also helps us to have a sound understanding of ourselves. We saw that spending time with God also helps in transforming our character and removing our limitations.Today we are going to see another thing that happened to Isaiah in the temple as he drew near to God.I Isaiah saw the needs that really concerns God God’s heart at the moment.
“Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me!” (Isaiah 6: 8).
We can be too busy about many good things, but there are some specific needs that are closer to the heart of God right now, that He knows you have the opportunity to meet. The only way you can be aware of those needs is when you turn a listening ear to Him.The mistake of Martha when Jesus visited their house was that she became over busy with the desire to feed Jesus and His disciples with physical food. Main while at that moment feeding the Spirit of Jesus by just spending time with Him and listening to Him was more important. Mary got it right and Jesus praised her for that.
“As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. 39She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said. 40But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!” 41″Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, 42but only one thing is needed. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.” (Luke 10: 38-42).
Are you so busy about ministry that you are forgetting to spend time with the master? How will you know if you are pleasing Him or not, if you do not take some time to listen to His evaluation of what you are doing? It is so important to cultivate a sensitive heart that can easily discern God’s desire. This kind of heart can be cultivated as we understand that all ministries should begin in the presence of God. This is God’s word for you today.May God help you to develop a more sensitive heart as you continue to serve God with your gifts and ability in Jesus Name!Pastor Rufus Ajiboye

  • Value God’s Word!

Today God wants to tell us the same thing. The Word of God is life to us. When God sends us His Word, He offers us life. Rejecting the Word of God we reject life itself. Moses says about God’s Word: «For it is not a futile thing for you, because it is your life…»It is extremely important for us to appreciate the Word of God and not to treat it as something futile, – it is not like a song that we have listened to and then gone to do our own will. It should be to us like the greatest treasure. We have to value God’s Word, to hide it in our hearts, to appreciate it because it is life to us. God says that through the Word and through our right attitude towards it we can extend or prolong our days. Our attitude toward the Word determines whether we will extend our life or shorten it.
  • Purpose for living VII

Today I would like to complete our discussion about searching for a goal of our life, and how we can find true happiness under the sun. We observed Solomon who measured long and burdensome way looking for his happiness and satisfaction. Thanks God for having it written for us, so that we can avoid the mistakes Solomon mentions in the book of Proverbs. Solomon has understood that life without God is an absolute illusion, but happiness without God is a mirage. This is what he writes as a conclusion to his book:«This is the end of the matter. All has been heard. Fear God, and keep his commandments; for this is the whole duty of man. For God will bring every work into judgement, with every hidden thing, whether it is good, or whether it is evil.» (Ecclesiastes 12:13-14).
  • Through prayer we invite God to take part in our lives

God does not come into our lives without being asked. Praying means to invite God to come and help us. It is a realization of the fact that I am weak and there is One Who is stronger than me, Who loves me and cares for me. Prayer is an invitation to the One Who is stronger than me and my circumstances.Do you remember Jairus? We read about him in Mark (5:22-23). He had sent his people to Jesus to invite Him to his house, because his daughter was on the verge of death.
  • The person who daily fills his heart with God’s Word has several advantages II

    2. God’s Word is the best ‘cleansing agent’ for a human heart. That is sufficient reason why we need to read God’s Word. The Word cleanses me. Jesus already cleansed me by His Blood when I got saved. I am clean and have access to God without any condemnation. Yet, I still need to experience daily cleansing.
  • Life is a test

Once we understand our life is a test, many questioned get solved by themselves and we can rejoice and enjoy our life. Those who understand that life is a test, they treat every difficult situation as an opportunity, not as an obstacle. The Bible often tells us how God tests His children. He is not doing it because He hates us nor because He wants to see our fall. Not at all! God puts us in test for few reasons. God blessed Abraham with a son first, then tested him asking to sacrifice his son on the altar. God allowed ordeals in Job’s life, then Job went through all that horror and bitterness.
  • We can understand God and spiritual things by the spirit

«Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path» (Psalm, 119:105).God’s Word is a light for me. By reading it I move towards light; it gives light to my steps. I get enlightened by God. God’s Word illuminates our path and brings clarity and direction to our lives. When we read it, clearness comes into our lives. There is so much confusion in the lives of many believers about different life issues. We understand that as believers we cannot live the same way the unbelievers live in this world, because God’s Spirit has inhabited our hearts and we are now the children of God.
