Value God’s Word! IV

Good morning, dear friends!I thank God for you and your hunger for the Word of God. Hopefully, this daily word that I share with you encourages and inspires you and helps you in your daily walk with God. This is my prayer and my desire concerning all those that stop by to read “Daily Word for Spiritual Edification”. Today I would like to continue talking about the importance of God’s Word.We saw that God spoke through Moses that God’s Word is our life. We also talked about the fact that our attitude towards the Word can either prolong our life or shorten it. We have already seen in the parables of Jesus that our attitude towards God’s Word determines the strength of our foundation, our life and all the things we are building. Yesterday we also talked about the fact that God’s Word is able to change our disappointments into joy, and bankruptcy into abundance.  We saw all of it in the life of Peter. I would like for us to look at the verses that talk about Peter when he was utterly failing and ready to give up.
«When He had stopped speaking, He said to Simon, „Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.” But Simon answered and said to Him, „Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net.” And when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish, and their net was breaking. So they signalled to their partners in the other boat to come and help them. And they came and filled both the boats, so that they began to sink” (Luke, 5:4-7).
Would you like to receive so many blessings that you are not able to deal with them by yourself? How do we come to such a point in our lives? From Peter’s story we see that it was the Word of God that made the difference. Verse 6 says, „And when they had done this…” It tells us that Peter and his partners did everything Jesus told them to do.So despite human logic, despite all professional skills and any feelings, Peter and his friends obeyed and decided to do what Jesus said. The very same thing will happen in our lives when we treat the Word of God right – the Word will lift us up, deliver us, and give us direction. As I have said before, Jesus comes into our lives through God’s Word. Jesus said that the Word that He speaks is spirit and life. Therefore, when we receive His Word, it brings us life. God’s Word gives us clear and precise directions. Jesus told Peter: «Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch» (verse 4). It was a very definite instruction, a firm direction, a clear order about the things they needed to do.Besides, God’s Word fills us with inner strength. A person who has experienced a disappointment, has given up, and lost the desire to try again – that is who we see in this story. They had started to wash their nets, but then everything suddenly changed, and this very same person gained strength to do the thing he couldn’t do before. It happened to Peter after he received a word from God.Also the Word of God fills us with boldness. It inspires us and makes us brave, so that we can do what we have started but were not able to complete. God’s Word brings courage into our lives.God not only speaks His Word to us, but also goes before us to fulfil what He has said and promised. When Peter obeyed the words of Jesus, God Himself proved His Word, and afterwards Peter caught a great multitude of fish.Today God desires to tell us, dear friends, that we must not take God’s Word for granted. Let’s treat the Word of God like a jewel, a rare pearl, because God’s Word is our life. And I assure you that God’s Word will enrich your life.May God enrich you today!Peace of God to you!Pastor Rufus Ajiboy

Problems try and purify our faith.Quite often the Bible compares sufferings with the furnace used for the purification of metal that burns up all the dross. “In this your greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honour, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ” (1 Peter, 1:6-7).
  • Worthy Goal for Life II

Yesterday we started talking about our goals. Everyone has them. We discussed that there are worthy and less worthy goals. We also saw that after meeting Christ, Paul devoted his life to Him; earnest expectation of Christ to be glorified in his body and through his life became his main goal in life. It is very important to ascertain for ourselves what our goals are.You and I have been justified by faith in Jesus Christ and we have peace with God. But it is just the beginning. Having been reconciled with God is just the beginning of the Christian walk. What awaits us afterwards? Through faith we gain Access to God’s grace and we expect the glory of God to be progressively revealed in us and through us.
  • The blessedness or beauty of serving others! III

Ministry and giving determines the measure of one’s spiritual growth and maturity. It also determines how much I bear a resemblance to Jesus Christ. God wants us to grow spiritually. One of the indications of one’s spiritual growth is how he or she fulfils the needs of others. Such a person not only takes and receives, but also gives. Giving and ministry is one and the same word that determines how much of resemblance to Jesus Christ I bear.It says in the Bible that Jesus came to this earth to serve and not to be served. He is the example of a minister. Many of us want others to serve us. God says that we should minister and serve others. He wants us to be like Jesus.
  • Your surrounding has an impact on you, it determines whether you enter the destiny God has prepared for you or you don´t III

There are many things that make people joyful and that´s great. However, Jesus pointed out that His disciples joy should rather be based on the goals and values of the Kingdom of God. Being glad about passing things is not the true joy, yet. The true joy comes when you can connect all the events of your life with fulfilling of the eternal purpose, one you are even ready to suffer for.
  • Be faithful in small things; then God will set you over many things! II

Do not compare yourself with other people, but always check whether you are faithful to God. Are you faithful to God in the area of being a good steward of the resources God has entrusted you?Jesus’ parable of talents says that after the lord returned and settled accounts with his first two servants that had multiplied their talents, he did not just praise them for their faithfulness; he also blessed and promoted them: «…you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things».
  • The importance of favouring the Kingdom of God

The point is that favour can be sown not just in relation to other people, but also in relation to God and His work on the earth. Your attitude towards the work of the Kingdom will determine the level of Kingdom blessings operating in your life.«You will rise and have mercy of Zion; for the time to favour her, yes, the set time, has come. For Your servants take pleasure in her stones, and show favour to her dust So the nations shall fear the name of the Lord, and all the kings of the earth Your glory» (Psalm 102:13-15).
