Rejoice in the Lord!

Dear friends! This is the day the Lord has made! Let’s be glad and rejoice on this day! Today I want to say to you how important it is to minister to the Lord in gladness and how important it is to have joy.The Bible says that
 «God loves a cheerful giver» (2 Corinthians, 9:7).
So it says that God not only loves givers, but He delights in cheerful giving. It is so essential for us no only to serve God, but also to do it with joy.It is stated in the Word of God that brokenness and depression dries out our bones or causes illnesses.
«A merry heart does good, like medicine, but a broken spirit dries the bones» (Proverbs, 17:22).
Sorrowfulness destroys humans. For this reason God desires our life and our ministry to be dominated by joy.
«Serve the Lord with gladness; come before His presence with singing!» (Psalm 100:2).
God wants our ministry to Him to be full of joy because He knows that without joy we lose both our health and anointing. We can see this in the life of Prophet Samuel. The Bible says that after Saul rejected the Lord, Samuel was mourning for Saul for a very long time. When God saw this, He intervened.
«Now the Lord said to Samuel, „How long will you mourn for Saul, seeing I have rejected him from reigning over Israel? Fill your horn with oil, and go; I am sending you to Jesse the Bethlehemite. For I have provided Myself a king among his sons» (1 Samuel, 16:1).
We see that Samuel’s horn grew empty of oil because for a very long time he was mourning for Saul. And God told him to stop mourning. God said that the time had come to change the mood; the time had come to fill the horn with oil and to go and anoint David to be King Saul’s substitute. When sadness and mourning come, the anointing diminishes or disappears. But when joy comes, the anointing comes as well.May your horn never be empty but be full of the oil of God’s blessings, fresh oil form the Lord. But there is one condition: your oil will not diminish and will not leave when you have joy. Joy in the Lord is our power and strength. So this is the word of God for you today: rejoice in the Lord!May God bless you! Peace of God be with you! Pastor Rufus Ajiboye

  • What are the grounds or foundations of favour? III

“Nevertheless, God’s solid foundation stands firm, sealed with this inscription: “The Lord knows those who are his,” and “Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness.” (2 Tim.2:19)Practical righteousness is the solid foundation on which to build your Christian life and ensure that you receive God’s favour. If as a Christian you still continue to live in sin and make it part of your lifestyle, then you are eliminating yourself from God’s favour.
  • All true ministry begins in the presence of God II

Today I want to continue our talk on starting ministry in the presence of God. Yesterday we saw the example of Lord Jesus Christ Himself, but today we are going to see the example of prophet Isaiah. The classic example of prophet Isaiah is another strong illustration that shows us how effective ministry must begin in the presence of God
  • What are you doing with your promotion? II

If you want God to exalt you, you need to love God and love people. God exalts the loving hearts. Love God and love your neighbour – these are two main commandments. All of your knowledge won’t bring any results, if you forget these two most important commandments. You probably have noticed that God does not answer all prayers. There are some prayers that God does not pay attention to; it happens when we break two most important commandments – to love God and to love your neighbour. Love towards God and people around you are the very power that must rule us and lead us through life. Love towards God and people that is demonstrated in deeds and not in words brings us to the place where promotion from God is possible.
  • The lordship of Jesus Christ II

«The LORD said to my Lord, “Sit at My right hand, till I make Your enemies Your footstool.” The LORD shall send the rod of Your strength out of Zion. Rule in the midst of Your enemies» (Psalm 110:1-2).This passage talks about Christ: «Rule in the midst of Your enemies», but the Body of Christ — His Church — is included in this prophetic word. Jesus was told to sit at the right hand of God; but it would be God’s children that would overcome God’s enemies and every thing that rise against the will of God. God wants us to rule and reign in the midst of the enemies and unfavourable circumstances. We must rule because we have been given God’s authority and we were born conquerors.
  • Prayer must be my first priority

Today I would like to talk more about the third point. I finished saying that prayer is more about what God wants to tell you and what He wants to do in your life and not what you want to tell Him. So you do not need to tell God what is on your heart; allow God to work through His Word giving Him opportunity to work in your heart and reveal to you His plans. If you want to hear God, you cannot be in a hurry. Effective prayer has nothing to do with haste.
  • I desire mercy and not sacrifice

«As Jesus passed on from there, He saw a man named Matthew sitting at the tax office. And He said to him, „Follow Me.” So he arose and followed Him. Now it happened as Jesus sat at the table in the house, that behold, many tax collectors and sinners came and sat down with Him and His disciples. And when the Pharisees saw it, they said to His disciples, „Why does your Teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?” When Jesus heard that, He said to them, „Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy and not sacrifice.’ For I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance» (Mathew, 9:9-13).
