Where to get joy?

Peace be to you, dear children of God!Thank God for this day that God has given us. Thank God for an opportunity to abide in His Word and draw power, strength and wisdom from it.Yesterday we talked about joy and how important it is to serve God with a joyful heart. Today I would like to talk more about where to get this joy if we don’t have it, if the circumstances of life do not allow us rejoice. What is the source of joy? Here are some ideas that we can find from the Holy Scripture:
«The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul; the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple; the statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes» (Psalm 19:8-9).
This passage of Scriptures tells us that one of the sources of joy is God’s Word, meditation on the Word and the perception of the (our) world through the prism of the Word. That is why it is so important for us to realize that if we want to remain in joy and learn to draw joy, we must grow in love with God’s Word.The Word of God is a strong motivator for praise and rejoicing.
«Your words were found, and I ate them, and Your word was to me the joy and rejoicing of my heart; for I am called by Your name, O Lord God of hosts» (Jeremiah, 15:16).
The prophet Jeremiah says here that he found the Word of God, dug it up and ate it. How is it possible for us to eat the Word? We „eat” the Word, when we meditate on it and implement the word into our lives. Jeremiah said that first the truth might seem bitter and unpleasant, but later it becomes a source of gladness and rejoicing, if we decide to receive it regardless of our feelings and impressions.If today you want to live in joy, then feed yourself from this source, which is the Word of God. The Word of God – it is one of the sources of joy. Once and again we return to the fact that we must feed on the Word of God every day, take it in as our daily bread and then the joy of the Lord will never leave us.May the Lord bless you abundantly on this day!     «For God will bring every work into judgment, including every secret thing, whether good or evil» (Ecclesiastes, 12:14). Solomon said the same thing Jesus said: God will bring into judgment our every work and especially all the hidden works: sins, wrongdoings that we have tried to keep in secret. God will openly bring our every deed into the light of His judgment. It means that all our sins will follow us wherever we go. The only way we can avoid the consequences of our sins and wrongdoings – is to repent before God brings them into the judgment. Repentance opens to us the door of mercy and grace from the Lord. It brings into our life new opportunities from the Lord. For this reason the only right lifestyle and the only correct decision is to repent of our wrongdoings so that God won’t have to judge us.

    When we are hospitable, when we are willing to help people and to share with them what we have, when we do everything in our power to make our guests feel comfortable, when we minister to people from the bottoms of our hearts, then we, as God says, unwittingly show hospitality to angels that bring God’s gifts and blessings to people. By casting people off, we can also reject God’s angels.

    Unforgiveness destroys godly relationships and causes splits in the Body of Christ.There is so much chaos in the Church of Jesus Christ because of offended people. Many of them are not able to fellowship with one another and built friendship due to offenses and the fear of rejection. Many people build huge walls around them due to unforgiveness. They receive new „revelations” that separate them from the other people even more and make them passive.

    If you desire to see and experience a miracle from God in your life, then you must forget about what other people think of your prayer style. At the period of seeking God, you must be concerned about one thing only, – how sincere your heart is during praying and how big your desire is to experience His intervention. Keep trusting and crying out to God even when everybody else have grown weak and lost faith in any possibilities for your life to change. God loves consistent and faithful people. He always has a reward for that type of people.

    If you can remember, yesterday we talked about the fact that what defiles a person is not what is done to him, but his personal reaction to that. In the following Scripture we saw that neither the man nor the woman were willing to take personal responsibility for their actions.„The man said, “The woman you put here with me–she gave me some fruit from the tree, and I ate it.» Then the LORD God said to the woman, “What is this you have done?” The woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.” (GEN 3:12-13)
