The law of multiplication II

Be blessed on this wonderful day that the Lord created for us to praise His marvelous Name! I pray for this word today not only to inspire you, but also to motivate you for action that would change the whole course of your life.For several days we have been talking about the power and potential hidden in a small seed. Yesterday we viewed the parable of Jesus about the growing of seed. Jesus said that after the scattering of seed there will be a harvest. If we sow the seed into good ground, then this seed will bring a harvest. We also talked about growth and multiplication being a process and not an event. If we want to see increase in our lives, we cannot look for shortcuts. This process involves both man’s part and God’s part. Man’s part implies the sowing of the seed. Seed is given to us not for keeping and eating; it is given for sowing. Besides, we need to take care of the sown seed just like a farmer does. And then God will do His part – He will make the seed grow.
“I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the increase. So then neither he who plants is anything, nor he who waters, but God who gives the increase. Now he who plants and he who waters are one, and each one will receive his own reward according to his own labour”  (1 Corinthians, 3:6-8).
These verses talk about labour. It is very important to understand that God wants us to work. Our job is to plant and water the seed, and then God will give the increase. There is another passage of Scripture that reveals another important principle.
“Those who sow in tears shall reap in joy. He continually goes forth weeping, bearing seed for sowing, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing sheaves with him” (Psalm 126:5-6).
This Scripture confirms that the one who sows and labours – even if it takes tears – will doubtless reap with joy. If we use our God-given seed correctly, which means if we sow the seed even with tears, then God promises us an abundant harvest and lots of joy. All these parables of Jesus tell us of the kingdom of God.
«And He said, „The kingdom of God is as if a man should scatter seed on the ground…» (Мark, 4:26).
Dear friends, we are the children of God, and every one of us is filled with the seed of God – the seed of God’s Kingdom. God wants His kingdom to multiply and grow. He desires His Kingdom to grow through us and spread in the world. What do we do with the God-given seed? The seed I am talking about is the talents, gifts, and abilities that God has showered upon us. What do we do with all this wealth? Do we sow them? Do we use them? If we do sow them, do we expect harvest? God desires for us to expect harvest and increase. Expectation is a spirit of faith. Where there is an expectation, then we will reap what we have sown. If there is no expectation, then the situation is clearly the opposite.
«Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, waiting patiently for it until it receives the early and latter rain» (James, 5:7).
Having done everything that depends on him, the farmer waits patiently for the fruit to come forth, and through this confident and patient waiting, he prepares himself for the harvest. God desires for us to have the same attitude towards the seed of life that God has given us.May God bless you! Pastor Rufus Ajiboy

    In the Gospel of Mathew Jesus told a parable about Master giving his servants different talents. «For the kingdom of heaven is like a man travelling to a far country, who called his own servants and delivered goods to them. And to one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one, to each according to his own ability; and immediately he went on a journey» (Mathew, 25: 14-15).Jesus shows us here that the criterion of His assessment is not quantity, but faithfulness. God know that every one of us has different abilities, so the quantitative result will be different for different people. Numbers are not important to Jesus; He cares about how faithful you have been with what God has given you. He cares about your attitude towards His work.

    «“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbour, and hate your enemy.’ But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you, that you may be children of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the just and the unjust.». (Matthew 5:43-45).If only all people lived according to the commandments of love there would be much less pain and tragedies on Earth. There would be much less tears on Earth if people took care for each other instead of seeking their own benefits.

There is a saying that not knowing the law does not relief from the responsibility; not knowing God’s laws or moral blindness multiplies human sufferings on earth.Every person must gain knowledge and understanding of God’s provision; we must know what God has done for us in Christ so that we can lessen human suffering. The lack of such knowledge can cause great pain. It is like a person starving because he does not know about state aid. The lack of knowledge of one’s rights and privileges can cause unnecessary problems.

    Yesterday we started discussing how we can enter our ministry. We established that, first; we need a strong desire to serve. God has predestined for us to do particular good works. God desires for us to be fruitful and glorify Him on earth. He wants us to establish His principles in every sphere of life and win people for Him by the ministry we do on earth.

Let me quote the statement of an Ancient Greek philosopher, Aristotle who once said about habits – “We are the product of what we repeatedly do”. In other words, our habits are our essence. Therefore, in order to excel at something, we have to make it our habit.
