The law of multiplication II

Be blessed on this wonderful day that the Lord created for us to praise His marvellous Name! I pray for this word today not only to inspire you, but also to motivate you for action that would change the whole course of your life. For several days we have been talking about the power and potential hidden in a small seed. Yesterday we viewed the parable of Jesus about growing of seed. Jesus said that after the scattering of seed there will be harvest. If we sow the seed into good ground then this seed will bring harvest. We also talked about growth and multiplication being a process and not an event. If we want to see increase in our lives, we cannot look for short cuts. This process involves both man’s part and God’s part. Man’s part implies sowing of the seed. Seed is given to us not for having and eating; it is given for sowing. Besides, we need to take care of the sown seed just like a farmer does. And then God will do His part, – He will make the seed grow.
“I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the increase. So then neither he who plants is anything, nor he who waters, but God who gives the increase. Now he who plants and he who waters are one, and each one will receive his own reward according to his own labour”  (1 Corinthians, 3:6-8).
These verses talk of labour. It is very important to understand that God wants us to work. Our job is to plant and water the seed, and then God will give the increase. There is another passage of Scripture that reveals another important principle.
“Those who sow in tears shall reap in joy. He continually goes forth weeping, bearing seed for sowing, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing sheaves with him” (Psalm 126:5-6).
This Scripture confirms that the one who sows and labours – even if it takes tears – will doubtlessly reap with joy. If we use our God given seed correctly, which means if we sow the seed even with tears then God promises us abundant harvest and lots of joy. All these parables of Jesus tell us of the kingdom of God.
«And He said, „The kingdom of God is as if a man should scatter seed on the ground…» (Мark, 4:26).
Dear friends, we are the children of God, and every one of us is filled with the seed of God – the seed of God’s kingdom. God wants His kingdom to multiply and grow. He desires His kingdom to grow through us and spread in the world. What do we do with the God given seed? The seed I am talking about is the talents, gifts, abilities that God has showered upon us. What do we do with all this wealth? Do we sow them? Do we use them? If we do sow them, do we expect harvest? God desires for us to expect harvest and increase. Expectation is a spirit of faith. Where there is an expectation, then we will reap what we have sown. If there is no expectation, then the situation is clear opposite.
«Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, waiting patiently for it until it receives the early and latter rain» (James, 5:7).
Having done everything that depends on him, the farmer waits patiently for the fruit to come forth, and through this confident and patient waiting he prepares himself for the harvest. God desires for us to have the same attitude towards the seed of life that God has given us.May God bless you! Pastor Rufus Ajiboye

  • Don’t ever allow anything or anybody to stop you from serving.

Friends, no matter how badly people or life itself has treated you, if you want to move ahead in life you have to learn how to focus on the right thing and chose the right life position. If despite all the odds of life you can still focus on using your gifts and talents; if you can still continue to serve people, then you will soon be able to change your status. That was exactly what happened to Joseph. As he served these two officers of pharaoh instead of concentrating on the offences of others, the door to his throne opened to him easily. Pharaoh sent for Joseph and fetched him out of the prison.
  • How to enter your ministry?

Yesterday we started discussing how we can enter our ministry. We established that, first; we need a strong desire to serve. This desire is tied to our understanding of God’s will and the purpose of our salvation. As we talked about, ministry helps us to reveal our potential. Ministry helps us to find out about ourselves, our calling in the establishment of God’s Kingdom on earth and doing the works that are pleasing to God. God has predestined for us to do particular good works. God desires for us to be fruitful and glorify Him on earth. Through our ministry God wants to fill this earth with the knowledge of Him and His Kingdom. He wants us to establish His principles in every sphere of life and win people for Him by the ministry we do on earth.
  • Lust brings sin, and sin brings death II

Lust is a strong desire or passion to something forbidden or unlawful. For example, the Bible says coveting your neighbour’s wife or his property is unlawful.«“You shall not covet your neighbour’s house. You shall not covet your neighbour’s wife, nor his man-servant, nor his maid-servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbour’s.”» (Exodus 20:17).
  • The blessedness or beauty of serving others

Today I would like to start discussing about the blessedness or beauty of serving others.Ministry is a widespread concept among believers. In essence, ministry is giving of all things: giving of one’s talents and gifts, one’s knowledge and time, one’s heart and resources. The Kingdom of God is built through such giving. Your church is built by your giving and ministry. It says in the Bible that it is more blessed to give than to receive. God blesses those who serve, so if you want to get to the top of God’s blessedness learn to serve God and people.
  • How can we earn promotion? III

God has set particular order in His Kingdom; there are some principles that the Kingdom of God is based on: humble people open for themselves the grace of walking in the fear of the Lord and they experience riches, honour and full life from God, – the Word of God says so. Prideful and haughty sooner or later are humbled and their life is filled with falls and destruction. If we desire God’s promotion we need to walk in humility and obedience to God. So many people after they get promoted become unapproachable, unsociable, and haughty.
  • Why do people choose to be irresponsible? IV

«Poverty and shame will come to him who disdains correction, but he who regards a rebuke will be honoured» (Proverbs, 13:18).When an individual does not accept correction and advice, then it makes it difficult to help him to become more responsible. As we have mentioned before, an irresponsible person always considers himself to be right; in his opinion he never errs and because of it he has a hard time accepting reprimand and correction. If a person has come to a point when nobody can speak into his life, then downfall of such a person is practically inevitable.
