The importance of favouring the Kingdom of God II

May God bless you in a special way today! We have been talking about the fact that favour is not something that happens accidentally in a person’s life; it comes along with the understanding of certain God’s laws or principles. Yesterday we started talking about how every person who desires to experience the power of God’s favour in his life must learn to show favour towards God and His deeds.Today I want to continue on this topic. In his Epistle to the Philippians, the Apostle Paul wrote of his confidence in one particular thing:
«..being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ» (Philippians, 1:6).
Why was Paul so confident that the Lord will complete the good work He has begun in the lives of believers? If you pay careful attention to the context, you will see that his confidence is based on the attitude of these people towards the work of God.In the beginning of his letter Paul said that these people had been preaching the Gospel from the very beginning of their walk with God.“I thank my God… for your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now…” „..no church shared with me concerning giving and receiving but you only” (Philippians, 1:1-6; 4:15-19).These people actively participated in the spread of the Gospel; they gave themselves and their property to God. Paul prayed for them, and his prayers worked, because these people not only watched, standing aside with their hands folded-no, they played an active role in the preaching. They showed favour towards the work of God’s Kingdom. Thus, Paul’s prayer for God to fulfill all their needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus was not hindered in any way.
«And my God will supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus» (Philippians, 4: 19).
Many believers today claim this promise for their lives, but unfortunately they are not qualified for it. They are not qualified for the simple reason that they are not actively involved in the building of God’s Kingdom as the Philippians were. Meeting of needs and answers to prayers-in other words, expressions of favour-all these things belong to those people who sow the seeds of favour into the Kingdom of God.Are you taking part in the building of God’s Kingdom through your local church? Are you sowing the seeds of favour into the lives of other people for the sake of winning them for God? Are you serving God with your property, talents, abilities, and time? Answers to these questions determine your readiness to enjoy the favour of God.God bless you! Pastor Rufus Ajiboye

“There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death.” (Proverbs 16:25)Our task is to train our spirit to hear what God is telling us. And even if your intellect is fighting and heart does not agree with what God says to you, anyway, say to God, “I do not know how it happens, I just believe in You!”
  • Your gift will make room for you! IV

In the Gospel of Mathew Jesus told a parable about Master giving his servants different talents. «For the kingdom of heaven is like a man travelling to a far country, who called his own servants and delivered goods to them. And to one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one, to each according to his own ability; and immediately he went on a journey» (Mathew, 25: 14-15).Jesus shows us here that the criterion of His assessment is not quantity, but faithfulness. God know that every one of us has different abilities, so the quantitative result will be different for different people. Numbers are not important to Jesus; He cares about how faithful you have been with what God has given you. He cares about your attitude towards His work.
  • God wants His children to be a part of the solution for His needs! II

« Because I have called, and you have refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no one has paid attention; … Then will they call on me, but I will not answer. They will seek me diligently, but they will not find me; Because they hated knowledge, And didn’t choose the fear of Yahweh. » (Proverbs 1:24, 28, 29).In these verses God tells us about the necessity to change our attitude towards His call, otherwise He would not listen to our calling the time we run to Him with our petitions. Forget about your own problems and take part in finding solutions for the needs and problems God has today, He will become a part of a solution for your problems then.

  • The person who daily fills his heart with God’s Word has several advantages

    1. God makes the feet of this person strong as the feet of deer. This person is able to run and not get weary. When he or she faces an obstacle or a wall, he has the strength to get over it. This thought is profound: the person who is filled with God’s light has power to overcome the difficulties of life. There are no invincible barriers for him. When the light of God comes into the person’s life, God’s wisdom comes with it and helps overcome all obstacles.
