Daily obedience to God in different areas of your life will bring you to your calling II

Greetings to you, dear friends, on this wonderful day! The Word of God says:
«For the mountains shall depart and the hills be removed, but My kindness shall not depart from you, nor shall My covenant of peace be removed,” says the Lord, who has mercy on you» (Isaiah, 54:10).
How wonderful is God’s Word! How amazing and powerful are the promises of God to His children! Our God is God of mercy and love. He created a man in His image and likeness. God is the Creator of all the visible and invisible things.
«For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them»(Ephesians, 2:10).
God created us for good works and for this reason He equipped us with different talents. God has a special calling for every single person.Yesterday we talked about everyday obedience as something that helps us to enter our calling. I want to tell a little about myself and how I entered my calling.I never thought I would become a pastor. I never though I would do things I am doing today. Never! I did not pursue it; I did not pray about it. What did I do? I did what I knew to do when I saw a need: tried to help to the best of my ability. By the time when I came from Nigeria to Belarus I already had become a believer. We had formed a small group of Christian students. We gathered for fellowship, prayer, and mutual encouragement. At the time it was allowed to openly speak about one’s faith; they could expel you from the institute and deport from the country. One day a young man from our student group stopped a car to get a lift. When he got into the care he noticed a Christian sticker that said “God is light”. It turned out that the driver also was a believer. After their conversation the driver invited this brother and our whole group to his church. They functioned as an underground church. We started to attend it on a regular basis. It was a wonderful Pentecostal church; people there loved God and were devoted to Him. We experienced a true Christian love in this church. But there was one problem – the lack of biblical teaching. Every Sunday new people repented there, and many of them were young people, but because of the lack of teaching these people were not growing spiritually. We saw the need and began helping in this area. We started shared what was taught to us. We started getting together with the youth; we read the Bible and discussed it; we preached, taught and encouraged them. So, we were obedient to God in the need He showed us. We became an instrument in God’s hands for the solution of this problem.Gradually it grew into something we never expected. People started drawing from us like from a well what the Lord had placed in us. The bigger the need grew, the more God poured out His grace on us. Some incredible things began happening that we couldn’t even dream about; God started healing and delivering numerous people. Until then I thought these things only happened through my pastor, not me or the people from my group. I couldn’t imagine that the time would come when people were healed after me praying; I believed such a thing is only meant for pastors. I thought God anointed my pastor and when he prayed the deaf began hearing, the blind – seeing, and the paralyzed – getting up from their wheelchairs. But to my great surprise I started witnessing all these things in the ministry of our group; I saw God doing these same things through us as well. The more miracles God did through us, the more invitations from different places we received. We started travelling to various towns and villages. Before that my studies were my priority; now everything changed. It became more important to me to travel to these places and share the Word of God. This desire was burning within me. So, that is how I entered my calling – through the daily obedience to God.I have to say that all the members of our group have become pastors, even though none of them thought about it. One of them is a pastor in Germany, another one – in South Africa; others are pastors in Belarus, Nigeria, Ukraine, and Moscow. How did it come to pass? Through daily obedience to God!Be obedient! Do what God tells you to do on a regular basis and you will enter your calling. But I have to note that your obedience will not necessarily make you a pastor, because not everyone is called to be a pastor. You might become a worshipper or children’s minister; you might be working with youth or do street evangelism. The main thing is to enter YOUR calling. The main thing is to realize that you will only be happy when you enter YOUR calling. Just like fish is created for water, every one of us is created for our special calling.Be obedient to God in the small things! Be obedient every day and you will find your calling. May God help you in it!Till tomorrow!Pastor Rufus Ajiboye

  • People willing to worship God effectively meditate of His character

Thinking about God and His Majesty, focusing our mind on Him should become something we are constantly worried about. That´s what Jesus taught His disciples. You have to look at God with the eyes of your heart before you open your mouth for prayer.Humble meditation of the God´s character He revealed to us is another way of how to worship Him. We receive His mercy when reading His Word, this, in turn, testifies about God´s character.
  • Thank God always and in everything, because it is God’s will for us

Someone might say, «I still do not have a job, even though I have prayed and the church has prayed for me». Or he might say, «Thank You, Lord, for the daily bread You give me». Do you see a difference? In the first case we hear murmuring, in the second – thanksgiving. Is it really necessary to thank God for the daily bread? Absolutely, since many people are forced to go hungry from day to day.
  • The principle of a right confession

God helped Abraham to believe Him, Who calls those things which do not exist as though they did. This is the principle of right confession. God calls those things that do not exist as though they did. When God gave Abram a new name – Abraham, he did not have any descendants. Neverthelss, because of this new name Abraham began calling himself “a father of many nations”. And when he called himself by name or he was called by others – every time what God had purposed was confessed – particularly that Abraham is going to be a father of many nations. We see that Abraham „contrary to hope, in hope believed, so that he became the father of many nations…”
  • Do not bury your miracle!

Today I want to encourage you not to burry your dream, even when everything around you tells you that it won’t ever come true. There is such a thing as the power of resurrection. That is the word I want to bring to you.We started to talk about a woman whose hospitality and generosity brought a miracle into her life, and as a result she gave birth to a son.
  • Not only prayer helps us enter God’s presence, it is a source for godly revelations III

We have been talking about prayer as the source of revelation and guidance in our lives. Yesterday, we saw that through prayer and fellowship with God, Jesus knew what and how He must do or speak. Jesus said,“Jesus gave them this answer: “I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by Himself; He can do only what He sees His Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does.” (John 5:19)After Jesus had taught in the temple, He spent nights on the Mount of Olives. There is no doubt, that He met the Father there and they had fellowship, but the next morning He brought a fresh Word for the people who came thirsty to hear this Word.
  • Definitely write down the vision you receive from God!

First of all, you need a revelation from God. Learning to recognise the voice of your Heavenly Father and getting to know Him as your best friend is vitally important. God is willing to give you wisdom, understanding and revelation in every sphere of your life. Though, when a revelation and wisdom are received from God, you have to write them down in whole. Then it becomes a spring of life, that gives breathe to you and brings hope that releases faith and trust on God in you.To write something down means to record the vision a paper. We have to put it down clearly, the way it makes sense to us later. Thus, we can bring our vision into reality, so that we can expect it and put our hopes upon. This is one of the methods how to cling with the vision together and dedicate yourself to fulfil it. Prophet Habakkuk reminds us about the importance of writing down the vision you have received from God.
