Do not be afraid to work; do not be afraid to sacrifice your time to the Lord! II

Greetings to you, dear friends! Grace and peace to you from God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ!Yesterday we talked about the fact that we should not be ashamed of what the Lord has given us nor despise our talents.Don’t be ashamed of what you have. God has given you those particular talents for you to multiply them, not to hide them. Do not waste your strength on hiding from your calling. Let your talents be visible to others. The talents you possess do not actually belong to you; they belong to the Lord. So, if you are ashamed to use them, it means you are ashamed of the Lord Himself.
“For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words, of him the Son of Man will be ashamed when He comes in His own glory, and in His Father’s, and of the holy angels” (Luke, 9:26).
We mustn’t be ashamed of God and what He has delivered to us.Sinners usually are not ashamed to publically demonstrate what they are able to do, how shameless they are; but we – being the children of God – are way too shy. Sinners openly display all kinds of filth, but we keep silent because we are too shy. It is not right! We should boldly proclaim God’s message.Today we once again will talk about the three servants from Jesus’ parable of talents. We already saw that when the first two servants received their talents, they saw an opportunity they did not have before. They were not afraid to work hard; they valued the time they had, since they realized that their master could come back any time and they had trained themselves for this assignment. The third servant though was ashamed of his talent delivered to him by his master; he did not find it special or valuable and he did not use this as an opportunity for growth.Based on the actions of these three servants, God wants to teach us something:* We must prepare ourselves, study and grow.* We shouldn’t waste our time.* We should work hard.* We shouldn’t be ashamed of using our gifts in ministry.* We should use our talents however small it seems.* We should stop looking for excuses.In this life, EVERYTHING we have grows when we use and apply it.May this word become the beginning of marvellous changesfor you .Let’s continue tomorrow!Pastor Rufus Ajiboye

If nothing can be required of you because you keep forgetting things, it means you are irresponsible. There are people around us that say all the time, „Sorry, I forgot”. Such people usually are irresponsible and unreliable.

    Why are there so much fear, panic, disappointment, weariness and tiredness in the lives of many believers? It is because the Word of God does not abide in them. God wants us to be filled with the Word. When we read the word of God with the understanding that we need the word daily as our source of light and direction, then we are motivated to do read it even more. Since I want to be spiritually strong and able to overcome the wicked one, I want to have the understanding of God’s purpose for my life, I want His direction as to how to carry out my assignment and I want to walk in purity in my life – and for this very reason I read God’s Word and study it on a regular basis.

    One of the reasons God allows suffering in the lives of His children is that He desires to draw our attention to Himself, to correct and discipline us.     When I hear the preaching of God’s Word, God speaks to me through someone else. When I read the Word, God speaks to me directly. There are things He wants to speak to me personally, without mediators. God wants me to fellowship with Him so that He can teach me. When you hear the word through the other preaching of people, you can hear things that you do not fully understand or you might even say you do not agree with some things. However, when you fellowship with God through the reading of His Word and God reveals some things to you, you cannot say it is someone else’s opinion.

If our God takes responsibility for what He has said, He expects the same from us. Besides, He does not mean for us to do it on our own; He has sent to us the Helper, Teacher, Comforter and Advocate – the Holy Spirit to be with us at all times.
