Our life is a product of what we see III

Dear friends, welcome to „Daily Word for Spiritual Edification”! For several days we have been talking about the importance of building your future.  We established that if we do not understand what we want, we won’t be able to construct a great future for our lives.  We also acknowledged that God wants to expand our vision; He wants to broaden how we see our lives at present. We saw it in the life of Abram; God promised to make him great. But God could not do it by Himself; first He had to expand Abram’s vision of himself and God’s promises. God told Abram that He is going to give him the land, but he had to envision it first. Also we talked about how important it is to visualize and picture the future God has for us; without it we won’t be able to reach out to this future. It is written that God only does what we think and ask for, and  also beyond it. This point is crucial. We have to ask these questions on a consistent basis: How do I see my life right now? What am I thinking about? Yesterday we saw that God cannot do these things without our participation and, on the other hand, we cannot build a wonderful future for ourselves without God. God wants us to cooperate with Him. His future and our future is a great, bright one. But we have to cooperate with Him to make sure this imagined future becomes a reality in our lives. It might be that today you look small in your own eyes, but God wants to give you a great future. And He does not keep us in ignorance about the prospects for the future, and for this very reason He gave us the Holy Spirit. One of the things that the Holy Spirit does is revealing the future God has prepared for us.
«But as it is written: „Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God» (1 Corinthians, 2:9-10).
This passage of Scripture tells us that God has a plan. He has a future for us, and not just any future, but a glorious future. No person knows this future; only the Spirit of God does. The Holy Spirit reveals to us the plans of God because He searches all things and knows the heart of God; He knows God’s thoughts about each one of us individually. So it is very important to inquire of God about your future and not of people.
«For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart» (Jeremiah, 29:11-13).
God does not want us to be at peace and let things drift along.  We must make a certain effort to create a great future full of victory and wonderful deeds. For this to happen we must know the plans of God for our lives. Not only must we know the plans of God, but we must take pains in order to move towards the desired future. God has promised to support us. Be blessed! Till tomorrow! Pastor Rufus Ajiboy

  • You have been created, redeemed and restored! You were born twice!

We are not only created by God, we are also reworked or recreated by Jesus Christ. We are talking about the opportunity available to sinful people because Christ has come into this world. This is exactly what the letter to Ephesians says:«You were made alive when you were dead in transgressions and sins, in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the powers of the air, the spirit who now works in the children of disobedience; among whom we also all once lived in the lust of our flesh, doing the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest. But God, being rich in mercy, for his great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead through our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up with him, and made us to sit with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come he might show the exceeding riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus; for by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, that no one would boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared before that we would walk in them.» (Ephesians 2:1-10).
  • If we are not ready to change and start resisting them, then we are not really ready to be a disciple of Jesus Christ

What does it mean to be a disciple? A disciple is a person who is learning from someone else and knows that he needs to grow and gain some knowledge. A disciple is one who follows both the teaching and the life of his or her teacher. He imitates his teacher and later grows into the likeness of his teacher.
  • How does a truly responsible person look like? III

«..for You (God) have magnified Your word above all Your name» (Psalm 138:2b).We are the children of God, created in the image and after the likeness of God. If our God takes responsibility for what He has said, He expects the same from us. Besides, He does not mean for us to do it on our own; He has sent to us the Helper, Teacher, Comforter and Advocate – the Holy Spirit to be with us at all times.
  • Confess your sins and repent of them as soon as the Holy Spirit convicts you

«For there is nothing hidden which will not be revealed, nor has anything been kept secret but that it should come to light» (Mark, 4:22).Here we see a very important truth spoken by Jesus. According to this Scripture everything hidden will be revealed. If we accept this truth then we will want to live righteously before God and men. Our every wrongdoing and ungodly deed sooner or later will be brought out in the light, and all our secret works sooner or later will come into the open; all our unconfessed, unrecognized and secret sins sooner or later will become obvious for everybody.
  • Doctrine shows us which direction we should take

When we read the Bible we receive doctrine, which means we start to see where we should go. Through the reading of the Bible we are shown the direction for our thought life, our words and all other areas of our lives.Besides, the Bible is profitable for reproof. Quite often we start walking the way the Bible has shown us, but then we somehow get distracted, lose the right direction and get sidetracked. It is through reproof that we are shown that we have taken the wrong path
  • You make room for Him and His Word in your daily schedule

“Whoever has my commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves me. He who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love him and show myself to him.”According to the above passage, there is a process or protocol we need to follow if we want to see and experience the manifestations of God in our lives and in ministries. Now it is true that God is an omnipresence God. He is present everywhere at the same time. However, it is important to note that his presence is more real and felt in some places than anywhere else. What determines such a big difference? This is what I mean when I say we need to follow a protocol. Following the right protocol is what differentiates between the intensity of God’s manifest presence in our lives, home and churches.
