Be faithful in small things; then God will set you over many things!

Welcome, dear readers! It is amazing how much wisdom we can obtain through the Word of God. During these past weeks we have been analysing Jesus’ parable of talents. What abundance of precious wisdom, which is able not only to make us wise, but also to change so many things in our lives. There is just one thing necessary: we need to open our hearts and let the Spirit of God make us wise through the Word and be doers of the Word and not hearers only.If we read this parable very carefully, we will see that it talks about accountability.
“After a long time the lord of those servants came and settled accounts with them” (Mathew, 25:19).
As we see, after a long time the master returned to settle accounts with his servants. The Lord is coming again! And this parable is prophetic. Jesus is our Lord and He is returning! When He comes back, He will reward every person as he or she deserves. Jesus also will condemn those who deserve it. Verse 19 says that the master came „after a long time”. It means that Jesus is coming at the time when He won’t be expected. But it also means we need to be alert. We must be alert!Besides, God rewards faithfulness. You might think today about the multitude of problems you have: problems at home, problems at work, health problems etc. And because of them you forget about your talents and about using them for the Kingdom of God.I want to say that we must be alert even when we have many great problems. Everybody has some kind of problems. But our love towards God is expressed when we serve Him under any circumstances and not just because He meets all of our needs; we serve Him because we love Him. We must serve Him not only when everything is going well, but also when the life is hard and unfair. When we do not have a desire to work and serve, we should find our motivation in the desire to be faithful to God and not fail Him.When Jesus will come, He will reward the faithful ones.I want you to see that the master from the parable of talents equally rewarded the servant who made five more talents and the one who made two more talents. God does not criticize and does not condemn people who have been less fruitful, because He knows the story of their lives; He knows the circumstances and abilities of every one of us. Both servants were equally approved by their master. The master said to the first servant:
“His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord»(Mathew, 25:21).
The master said the same words to the second servant:
“His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord» (Mathew, 25:23).
Their lord did not reward them for how much fruit they had brought; he rewarded their faithfulness.«… you have been faithful over a few things ».God wants to see us faithful to our calling. Be faithful in small things; then God will set you over many things.Till tomorrow!Pastor Rufus Ajiboye

  • We are the new creation in Christ Jesus, made for good deeds the Lord has determined for us

«For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works …» (Ephesians 2:10).God has created you with a purpose. We are created and made for ministry on this Earth. Life without purpose is similar to a movement without a direction. Once we clarify who we are in God and what He has done for us – we immediately realise why we are here in this world. So we are made for good works.
  • What other effects of unforgiveness can we see?

Unforgiveness destroys godly relationships and causes splits in the Body of Christ. There is so much chaos in the Church of Jesus Christ because of offended people. Many of them are not able to fellowship with one another and built friendship due to offenses and the fear of rejection. Many people build huge walls around them due to unforgiveness. They receive new „revelations” that separate them from the other people even more and make them passive.
  • I can do everything in Christ Jesus who strengthens me!

When we cast all our worries on the Lord, a sincere joy appears fills our hearts and the soul begins to sing a new song. When somebody fully relies on God, he stops chanting the old songs like: “Oh, I am weak! Oh no, I can´t accomplish it! Oh, I am definitely gonna fail! Oh, I am so poor!”When a person casts his worries on the Lord who cares for us, his mouth will sing a new song: “Let the weak say I am strong! I can do everything in Christ Jesus who strengthens me! My God meets all my needs! God is my shepherd, I lack nothing! I destroy my enemies with God! I am healed by the wounds of Jesus.”
  • Life is a trust

You should understand there is nothing that belongs to you. Your life itself is not yours, it’s a trust God has shown to you. Understanding this truth changes the way you respond to what is going on around you.You do not live for yourself; you did not appear on this Earth by your own act of will or for your own personal purpose. God has given life to you as a sign of His trust for you. You are entrusted with life from God and the day will come when you will have to give account to God for the life He given to you, – for all your deeds and words while living in your body.
  • What are you doing with your talent? II

The world is changing very rapidly. I am convinced that new changes will come into our lives with an increasing speed. If I told you about different predictions and ideas that experts have about our future, then the hearts of many people would be filled with fear. One pastor spoke to me about it and I saw his heart getting filled with fear after hearing all the predictions. He asked me what to do with all of it; is it worth making big plans if all these terrible things are inevitably coming upon the earth? I told him that – thank God – we have the Bible that contains all the answers.
  • The goal and intentions of God for men on the earth

Heaven is the place from which Jesus rules and reigns over everything. What God says about us in His Word is the truth which we must believe. Now we have God’s nature in us and it must be continually fed and nurtured. We must believe that now we have heavenly authority and power that was given to us in order to destroy the works of devil on earth. That is what Jesus did when He walked on the planet earth: He destroyed and undo the works and intentions of the devil. He set an example for us to follow in His foot steps:«For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil» (1 John, 3:8b).
