Be faithful in small things; then God will set you over many things! II

Greetings to you, dear readers of “Daily Word for Spiritual Edification”! God is faithful to His Word. Because of His boundless love towards us, He is faithful to us. And He also looks for faithfulness in us.
«..when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith (faithfulness) on the earth?» (Luke, 18:8).
Do not compare yourself with other people, but always check whether you are faithful to God. Are you faithful to God in the area of being a good steward of the resources God has entrusted to you?Jesus’ parable of the talents says that after the lord returned and settled accounts with his first two servants who had multiplied their talents, he did not just praise them for their faithfulness; he also blessed and promoted them: «…you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things».Equal blessings were given to the servant who gained five more talents and to the one who gained two more.God is in the rewarding business! Reward awaits everyone who serves the Lord in patience and faithfulness. Faithfulness leads to promotion. How did the third servant behave? He began making excuses.
«…Lord, I knew you to be a hard man, reaping where you have not sown, and gathering where you have not scattered seed. And I was afraid, and went and hid your talent in the ground. Look, there you have what is yours» (Mathew, 25:24-25).
After listening to him, the master publicly condemned him.
«But his lord answered and said to him, ‘You wicked and lazy servant, you knew that I reap where I have not sown, and gather where I have not scattered seed. So you ought to have deposited my money with the bankers, and at my coming I would have received back my own with interest…» (Mathew, 25:26-27).
The master revealed the true nature of this man: he was wicked and lazy.If this servant truly feared the lord and considered him to be a hard man, then his actions would have been totally different; he would have used his talents. But the problem was that this servant was a lazy and deceitful person. He was just making excuses and trying to get away. He was looking for a ‘scapegoat’. His master saw the true cause of the bareness of this servant: it was deceitfulness and laziness. When the Lord returns, there won’t be a way out: no excuses, no cunningness, nothing else will help us to get away. The Lord won’t listen to you trying to blame someone else. We cannot deceive God because He knows and sees everything.God has not entrusted each one of us with talents so that we would hide them; He wants us to use and multiply them.It is better to be a diligent and faithful servant of God than to waste your life being deceitful and lazy. The day will come for each one of us when we will stand before our Lord Jesus Christ and give an account for the life we have lived. Every day we have an opportunity to get ready to meet the Lord. Every day we meet people whom we can help and minister to. It is your choice. You are the one that can decide how to spend your life.Jesus brought life wherever He went. You can do the same, because Jesus lives inside of you.I wish you God’s abundant blessings that you will be able to share with those who need those blessings!Pastor Rufus Ajiboy

  • Worthy Goal for Life II

Yesterday we started talking about our goals. Everyone has them. We discussed that there are worthy and less worthy goals. We also saw that after meeting Christ, Paul devoted his life to Him; earnest expectation of Christ to be glorified in his body and through his life became his main goal in life. It is very important to ascertain for ourselves what our goals are.You and I have been justified by faith in Jesus Christ and we have peace with God. But it is just the beginning. Having been reconciled with God is just the beginning of the Christian walk. What awaits us afterwards? Through faith we gain Access to God’s grace and we expect the glory of God to be progressively revealed in us and through us.
  • If you want to receive a miracle from God you need the ability to hear people and see their action from different perspective!

God desires that we all fight for and protect those He has entrusted us. He wants us to be strong, so that nothing could stop us on our way to God’s miracle.Further we see that «then she came and worshipped Him, saying, “Lord, help me!» (Mathew, 15:25) The woman worshipped Jesus on her knees. She did this amidst of all the people who were there that day. It speaks of her despair; she did not pay attention to her surroundings and she did not care of what the others thought.
  • Prayer must be my first priority

Today I would like to talk more about the third point. I finished saying that prayer is more about what God wants to tell you and what He wants to do in your life and not what you want to tell Him. So you do not need to tell God what is on your heart; allow God to work through His Word giving Him opportunity to work in your heart and reveal to you His plans. If you want to hear God, you cannot be in a hurry. Effective prayer has nothing to do with haste.
  • Ignorance is a matter of personal choice

If a person does not fulfil this duty, he won’t have enough light to see evil and hide from it. Besides, this verse tells us that such a person (he or she is called „simple”) goes ahead and is punished – not by God, but by his own ignorance. Ignorance separates a person from the life of God, because he knows nothing about God’s provision. «..having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart» (Ephesians, 4:18).Because of ignorance human mind is darkened, heart is hardened and he himself is alienated from the life of God.
  • Our life is a product of what we see II

We have been talking about the fact that we can plan together with God and partner with Him to construct a great future. We established also that great future does not happen automatically. We are believers, but that does not mean that we do not have to think about the future. We should not be careless about our future even though we believe that our future is in the hand of God. God has given us a mind and He wants us to move forward and create a wonderful future for ourselves. A person who does not care about his future usually turns to be a failure. It is very important to plan for the future and to envision it.
  • God’s discipline

In order to determine whether we are being disciplined by God or we are dealing with the attack of the enemy, first we must ask ourselves some questions:§ What circumstances do I find myself in? (see Colossians, 3:17)o Am I where God wants to see me?
