Why do people choose to be irresponsible? IV

Greetings to you, dear friends! This is the day the Lord has made for us to rejoice and celebrate before Him! God’s mercies have been renewed for every one of us this morning. God continues to pour out His mercy and grace upon us! The Word of God is an enormous blessing for every one of us. Through His Word God edifies us and our faith.Today we will talk some more about responsibility and irresponsibility. Every one of us likes to deal with responsible people, because we know them to be reliable; that type of people always do their best and we will never be embarrassed because of them. Every one of us would like to hear others saying about us: „You are a responsible person! You are reliable, diligent and industrious!» Why do we see people like that so rarely nowadays? What hinders a person from being responsible? For the several past days we have been talking about it and have pointed out three reasons that cause people to be irresponsible: they are fear, a wicked heart and laziness. The fourth reason that leads to lack of responsibility is refusal of correction.
«Poverty and shame will come to him who disdains correction, but he who regards a rebuke will be honoured» (Proverbs, 13:18).
When an individual does not accept correction and advice, then it makes it difficult to help him to become more responsible. As we have mentioned before, an irresponsible person always considers himself to be right; in his opinion he never errs and because of it he has a hard time accepting reprimand and correction. If a person has come to a point when nobody can speak into his life, then downfall of such a person is practically inevitable.
«He who is often rebuked, and hardens his neck, will suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy» (Proverbs, 29:1).
When we depart from the truth, God speaks to us again and again to draw us back. For this purpose He will send to us different people: friends and strangers, different ministers. God will rebuke us through His Word. But if we are stubborn and do not listen to Him, there will be no remedy from destruction for us. God loves us and that is why He has given us His Word. He wants to show us how we should live. He desires us to show the areas of our lives where we have gotten off the right path. God wants to demonstrate us how we can back on the right path and move forward. This is why it says in the Bible that a wise and understanding man love knowledge and accepts commandments.
«A fool has no delight in understanding, but in expressing his own heart» (Proverbs, 18:2).
«The wise in heart will receive commands, but a prating fool will fall» (Proverbs, 10:8).
«All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work» (2 Timothy, 3:16-17).
I am sure that God spoke to you through this little message. If you want to become a responsible person, then you need to accept His reproof, reprimand, correction and teaching and then start working towards the goal.May God bless you abundantly!Pastor Rufus Ajiboye

  • 26 points that confirm we need the revival

Nowadays we often hear people talking about revival – in their own life, in the families, in the church, in the whole country. Do you need a revival? If so, how do you know about it? My today´s message contains 26 points that confirm we need the revival and need the Holy Spirit to visit us again. They will help each of us to look at ourselves and diagnose the problems.
  • God loves you but do you love God?

One of proofs of your love for God is to love those whom He loves. You know that God loves the Church of Jesus Christ, and that He also loves the lost people (who have not yet come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ). How your love for God is reflected in your attitude towards the church and unbelievers around you?Do you have the passion to see His church grow and to advance the values of the Kingdom of God through His Church Do you have the passion to see His lost sheep brought back to his fold?
  • The counselling IV

Let’s talk about another quality Jethro possessed: he did not pressure Moses to accept his advice. We can see in the Scripture, which I would like us to look at:«If you do this thing, and God so commands you, then you will be able to endure, and all this people will also go to their place in peace» (Exodus, 18:23).We can see here that Jethro did not demand Moses to accept his advice, but gave him a chance to make a choice himself. The phrase “if you do this thing” means that even if Moses did not listen to Jethro, he would not be upset. So he knew he could not take it personally if Moses chooses a different way.
  • God’s discipline II

    1. Use the spiritual weapons God has given you: «Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armour of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armour of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God» (Ephesians, 6:10-17).
  • Moving your mountains

Very often we speak about our problems instead of speaking to them. Very often we tell God about our problems instead of telling our problems about our God. The Bible instructs us to do it differently. You are instructed toSpeak to your mountains Tell it to move Believe in your heart and doubt not and you will have what you say.
  • Your surrounding has an impact on you, it determines whether you enter the destiny God has prepared for you or you don´t

How and with whom you spend your time reflect your consecration and desire to do God´s will. Looking at the life of Jesus, we can see whom He preferred to spend most of His time with, namely, those who similar to Him desired to do God´s will. If you surround yourself with people who are not going anywhere in this life, you will soon lose your purpose and direction in your life as well. Spending a lot of time with those who have no revelation about their lives soon also you won´t be able to see the goal of your life. Exactly these things happened to Abraham. God called him out of his country, his relatives and his father´s house to the land God showed to him.
